Illustrator :: Reference Point Locator Missing From Top Menu - Can't Change X-y Coordinates?
Jun 11, 2013
I am using illustrator cs2 and somehow my reference point locator is missing from my menu bar? Also, I am not able to manually set the x y coordinates on anything besides 0 0. I have been using this program for a long time and haven't had this happen before. turned off the reference point locator but I can't see where to get it back on my menu to be able to align objects.
I was wondering if there is a way to create a group of vertices, edges or faces and somehow create a reference point or attach them to some kind of locator so they can be referenced at a later point. I want to be able to select a group of edges, model them and then move on to another task within Maya and have some kind of reference point so I can go back to the original group and not have to select them individually every time I want to work on that group of edges, faces or vertices, is this possible? I will post a picture shortly to this post so you can see an example of a specific group of edges that I would like to set a reference point or locater for.
Screenshot provided where you can manually change it on an object, but I would like to change it so that the Top Left is selected by default. I'm a web developer, and just like the web all my designs origins are anchored to the top left.
I have a square object I want to rotate in Illustrator CS6. The object wants to rotate from the center. I want to rotate it from one of the corners. How do I change the reference point from which to rotate around?
When we select an art object in Illustrator we can get the (x,y) position and the size of the selected object in the control bar.
At the left of the x value, there is something called reference point. We have nine possible choices. (bottom-left, bottom, bottom-right, left, centre, right, top-left, top, top-right). Its name seems to be the reference point (from the tooltip).
Is it possible to retrieve the current choice of the user ?
i am trying to translate a Point coordinates from Paperspce to world coordinates in model space. The code i used in Land2006 worked OK but now in Civil3d 2012 it doesn't!
Private Sub GetPlais_Click() Dim tmpnt1 As Variant, tmpnt2 As Variant, tmpPnt1 As Variant Dim lole(0 To 2) As Double, upri(0 To 2) As Double Dim returnobj As AcadObject
FrmGrid3.Hide On Error GoTo Eline ThisDrawing.Utility.GetEntity returnobj, tmpPnt1, "ÅðÝëåîå ôï ViewPort ðïõ èá äçìéïõñãçèåß ï êÜíáâïò!" If TypeOf returnobj Is IAcadPViewport Then [code]........
I don't simply want to see the coordinates when I hover over a point. I want the coordinates actually showing on the document. Is there a plug-in that can accomplish this easily?
I change the reference point in the transform panel to the lower left corner and scale a shape down, however, it does not seem to make a difference when scaling the square. What exactly is it doing?
How can I snap the center of an arbitrary symmetrical object to the grid? For instance the center of a circle or rectangle. According to this discusssion it's not possible: [URL]
How can I define a reference point in an arbitrary object or in a group of objects and snap this to the grid?
First time importing into 2012-have csv file that I imported. Coordinates land in right spot. Local system-No transformations/State Plane zones attached. When I look at them with tracking everything is okay. When I export the points they are the same I imported.
I need some of my objects to always rotate around the same point. How can I select a point which will stay that way? Using the rotate tool resets after deselecting.
Also, I'd like to rotate objects around a certain point even when using the right click > Transform > Rotate.
I'm running Illustrator CS6 (version 16.0.3) 64-bit on Windows 7 64-bit as part of my Design Standard CS6. I'm trying to package a file but when I go to the File menu, there is no package option. Why is it not there? And how do I get the Package feature?
I have a *.csv file complete with point references, easting, northing and height. I'm trying to find a way that I can import the points so that I can snap to them and also include the point reference beside the inserted point. Currently running CAD LT 2011.
In autocad 8, how could I get the XYZ coordinates of a point, on the drawing. With ID or list command it is possible to get the coordinates of a point, but they would not appear on the drawing the way dimensions do.
I have been having an issue with items that have cutlines with rounded corners. The cut starts and stops in the corner (usually the upper left hand corner). In my industry we use cutlines for cutting shapes out of wood, acrylic, sintra, mdf, etc. and the corner stop and starts often times creates a problem: mis-shapen corner cut, mostly. I figure that I should be able to change the start and stop point is a spot on the straight part of the cut,
Im working on an object which has 4 anchor points, i would like to keep to black stroke for 2/3 segments of the object but i would like to change the colour between two anchor points (so 1/3 segments).
I use the rotate tool to design gauges, like clocks, a lot. I hold the ALT button and click on the center of my drawing and then a window pops up to enter in what degree I want my object to be. Currently the decimal point only allows for hundredths, ex. 45.25 degrees. Is there any way to change this to thousandths or even higher, ex. 45.25125? I've attached a screenshot to show you what I mean.
My quick question id for an alternative way of exporting a cluster of points as .shp files and then manipulating the .dbf file in order to create an excel/csv file.
Is there another way of exporting my data as .csv or excel from Map3D?
I have a .DWG file and I need to export the coordinates of the points of the profile of the draw. How I can do it with AutoCAD?I specifiy that I have never used autocad.
i've got a bunch of points that need a coordinate label. my drawing is on a state plane coordinate base but i want the point labels to be on an artificial coordinate base. i basically need to start in the corner of a parking lot at 0,0 and work my way out from there with the coordinates based on that 0,0. Is this a possibility?

I have a drawing which consists of lines and blocks. I need to write down the (x,y) coordinates of each point of my interest. I expect results to be copy-paste'able, text or plain text preferred.
How should I do that? I guess there is a build-in command for this, I fail to Google it though.
As there is some confusion with the colorspace used with the Sigma SPP software when creating so-called "ProPhoto" 16-bit tiff files for the Merrill-based sensors cameras, and I am contemplating using Lightroom just for LOCA correction, as some seem to imply it works well in comparison to the SPP 5.5.1 equivalent corrections, I'd like to confirm that Lightroom's expectations in terms of photometric interpretation(s).
1) D65 illuminant ==> what are the white point coordinates of Melissa RGB ? (Plankian ?) 2) Gamma ==> is it sRGB or gamma 2.2 or anything else ? 3) Can you elaborate on the metadata (EXIF & tags) used by LightRoom to get the Sigma Merrill SPP 16-bit TIF SPP format photometric data ? 4) What's the closest to Melissa RGB : ERIMM, RIMM or ROMM ?
