I'm trying to insert a right indent tab in illustrator or find another way that I can have left and right justified text on the same line--much like you'd do for a table of contents. I know that this can be done in InDesign, but the project I'm working on has to be completed with illustrator.

I set up a quick test with the above if else statement to pinpoint that that is where the problem originates as it always exits on signal 671. I'm building this in Visual Studio 2008.
I've got a number of multi-line text elements in my document and I want to decorate them with some icons that further describe the content. If I can find a font that contains all the icons I need, it's pretty simple. I just add the glyphs from that font in the normal text flow. Maybe change their colour.
But what if I can't find a font and need to use other graphics sources for the icons? They're not in the text flow and I'd need to align them to the font baseline by hand, and update it whenever I change the text length or font size.
I'm looking for a way to insert a graphic directly in the text flow, much like adding an image inline in MS Word or HTML. Maybe it will be necessary to adjust the graphic size or the vertical alignment a bit, too.
How can I do that in Illustrator CS6/Windows?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI write a program, this program needs to insert some standard illustrations. I made these standard illustrations into different blocks. And I store these blocks in a dwg file. Everytime I need to insert some illustrations, I just click the mouse on the current drawing, I want the illustration inserted. These means the following points:
(1) Import the blocks to the current drawing, if the blocks have already been imported, then do nothing.
(2) Specify the insert point by clicking the mouse, and I want the block's insert point to coincide with the mouse clicking point.
The CS5 online help is pretty tight-lipped about variables … is there an easy way of pulling in the save date as a variable? ID can do it; even Word can do it :-}

When I try to insert another x reference AutoCAD just goes into a continual loop. Have to force AutoCAD to crash after ten minutes.
I am using AutoCAD 2014 MAP and have just had a new system built (i5 processor, 8GB RAM).
I have a massive block of dummy text set up in Illustrator 5 and the easiest way for me to change the dummy text is to overwrite it as one would when using the Insert function.

If you add a script to your actions via "Insert Menu Iitem" (not sure if it's for all items or just scripts) and close Illustrator, those actions disappear. Apparently, in CS6, Adobe has completely ignored improving including scripts to Actions, which really makes automation powerful. As awesome as CS6 is, that part is pretty lame.

When I insert new data on an existing graph (for example, just adding a new year of data) and press insert, it just deletes the graph entirely. My only option is to recreate the entire graph which is frustrating because I lose its format and colors.

I want the x and y axes to meet at the origin. As it isn't working as you can see. I've used 0, 0 and 24, 24 as my data points. I have used the day to read about it it, try to update all drivers, nothing is working.
If I am not able to do this I cannot buy the program.

I've needed to insert special characters & JPGs in title text a few times and haven't found a method. The typical word processing stuff doesn't work: Combining half marks; Combining diacritical marks; Typing special characters (Unicode Standard) even when assigned to custom keys.
In Hawaiian, I need to use a glottal stop (upside down, mirror image apostrophe) and a standard macron over an "I" (hard to find in any language) to be correct. I don't think I'll find an Hawaiian keyboard. Changing languages doesn't work either because the restriction is; availability of keyboard characters.
I've created a Video Studio 8 project with numerous subtitles that line up with their related videos.
Foolishly, I waited until the end to create a main title still image and title wording that now need to be inserted at the beginning of the time line.
Is there a way to insert the image and title at the beginning so that all the subsequent subtitles will automatically shift to stay aligned with their related videos, or do I have to do that manually?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to insert a dwf file into a dwg file, so that I can do some work on the map, so that I can then print out the new data, overlaid on the older, dwf data.
I am aware that I'd not be changing the contents of the dwf file.
My problem: AutoCAD Map keeps crashing when I zoom out to include the dwf file in my field of view, or when I zoom in to begin my work.
This is not one or 2, or even 5 crashes. I'm up to 15+ crashes now.
I've stripped all unnecessary components, turned on, unlocked, thawed all layers, removed all unneeded items. I've run purge, audit, recover, saved for each event, so as to not lose the data once the crash occurs.
My last attempt was to take a brand new map, with no data at all, and then attach the dwf file. Once I'd done that, saved the attach operation, I went to zoom to extents so I could begin the work, and-- you guessed it-- Map3D crashed!
I've filled out more error reports than my colleague who uses ArcGIS by ESRI, and they're constantly crashing.
While the dwf file was originally located on another server, due to a sufficient number of crashes yesterday afternoon, I decided to copy the file to the same file location as the dwg map so to reduce the possibility of restrictions on the server that AutoCAD would not cope with.
I simply want to do some overlay work-- which at this point will consist of just copy/pasting data-- to the dwf map file.
Im trying to insert a WMF or Bitmap image into AutoCAD but it does print out it displays the file path and not the image?

Draw text box, click on symbol option, select 'other' and insert through the character map.However it still only inserts a hyphen.
how to actually make this work, it is quite a large stumbling block and will create a huge amount of extra work if I am unable to do this in AutoCAD. It seems like a very basic text requirement.
