Jun 18, 2008I've downloaded some Korean Asian fonts, but I cannot use them in Photoshop. I can see them in the list of fonts, but whenever I try to write in Korean, it defaults back to a default korean font. The weird thing is, I can use the font perfectly fine in Microsoft Word...
What can I try? I have other Korean fonts that work fine..

Create->Text
Set Font to: Meiryo
Set Writing System to: Japanese
Set Text to: イ
Press Create Button
but any Asian character I enter in the text field get converted to a "?" question mark when I press "Create". Is it possible to create Asian text in Maya?

Aug 15, 2013Is there any way to convert a drawing using the Asian Bigfont.shx font back to English? The font can be changed, but the characters remain un-readable. Mostly ? and letters and symbols but no words. It seems like it needs to be translated, and not just converted, but it is not displayed in any form that could be translated.

Nov 10, 2011I was wondering why Batang and Arial were appearing in the Fonts under Document Properties when I had not actively used them in my "New" document.
When I looked at the Default text files, I believe I see the reason. I find Batang listed as the default Asian Text font for both Artistic and Paragragh Text. The options for Asian Text don't seem to include any fonts that I have on the old machines.
Similarly, the Middle East Default Text style would seem to generate the Arial(Arabic) entry in the required fonts.
Is there a way to completely eliminate the default Asian Text and Middle East entries from the default text styles?

Dec 10, 2013I am unable to print from the application or even save as a PDF using illustrator CS3.
For 3 days I have attempted to install the required updates, 13.0.1 and 13.0.2 but in every case they have failed. I followed the instructions an adobe knowlege base article that told me to delete : {C4519961-AC64-4565-B3AF-9050296B5D5A}.patch and remove and reinstall the application - which I did multiple times. I even exchanged the bspatch application that was described in the forum When I download and install 13.0.1 and attempt to run it I get the following error:

My firewall is truned off, antivius is turned off and photoshop allowed for its required updates.

Dec 21, 2013is there anyway to keep the pen and brush setting remember as per layer , let say i have 2 layers of different stroke setting , after i draw 1 to another , it always revert to 1pt stroke width automatically .
i want to keep all the setting : transparency , color , stroke width to be remembered in layer . Therefore, i dont need to change again or remember whenever i draw in between layers.

Feb 12, 2014I'm having a problem changing brush settings back to basic, having pencil tool selected. Still I can draw basic line after I've clicked basic, but the line selection doesn't show. That occured after I chose the brush to be "Charcoal pencil". I still can change the brush to be anything else from the library (like different kind of calligraphics, inked, decorative brushed, even image brushed) but not back to basic. The width-settings are to uniform.

I've always solved the issue by checking the option "print as image" in Acrobat. I noticed, however, that the colors are much less vibrant and almost "muddy" when this option is checked.
Is there another/better technique to remove the "ghosting" effect when printing in order to preserve better coloring?

Apr 19, 2013I just bought a new Mac with Mountain Lion, and I'm trying to migrate my software from the older Snow Leopard computer. Nothing worked using Migration Assistant, so I reformatted to start clean, and tried installing everything directly from disk. Everything from CS 5 seems to install OK except Illustrator. I've tried four times now and itfails every time. This is the same disk I used to install it onto the Snow Leopard computer. I don't see any scratches or any physical damage to the disk, and it's been sitting safely unused for a couple of years, anyway. What's wrong with Illustrator and Mountain Lion? If it's just some quirk with my disk, is there any way I can download Illustrator CS5 from somewhere else and install it with my own registration/installation code?

I tried recording an action, hoping I would later be able to assign it a shortcut but oddly when an action that records the setting of stroke color is played, it sets the FILL color to that choice color and instead of setting the stroke color (with which it was recorded).
