I'm using illustrator dll in my project , some properties like document width and height can be accessed directly by Document object , others i don't know how to get them , like opacity and image pixels..etc

View 1 Replies View RelatedIt seems that any picture saved in TIF format using Photoshop Elements 5.0 cannot later have the Summary section of its properties modified. I discovered this when trying to add comments to pictures after using Photoshop to modify them. Windows XP gives the following error message when you try to change anything in the Summary tab of the file's properties:
"Changes to Summary properties could not be saved; access has been denied.
The file may be marked read-only or may be in use by another application."
The file is not marked as read-only, and Photoshop is not open. Rebooting does not fix it. Even copying the file to another computer does not fix it. The error stays with the file. It should not be an issue with permissions, since I'm logged on as Administrator on both computers. It's not a problem with TIF files, since I can modify the Summary properties of TIF files that were created with other programs, for instance my scanner. And it doesn't happen with files saved by Photoshop in any format except TIF. Something Photoshop is doing when it saves a TIF file results in modification of the Summary properties being permanently disabled.
I'm scanning old family photos to digital format and use the lossless TIF format for the master copies, so using another format is not an option. But I want to be able to go back and add comments to the master copies as new facts about the people and places in the photos come to light. I can keep a separate text file for descriptions of the photos, of course, but that always runs the risk of the comments getting separated from the picture.
Is it possible to edit the properties of a dwg file that isn't open in AutoCAD via VB/VBA/VL? I want to add summary information to the comments text box without opening the files.

The layout of the file is essentially a bunch of little boxes (it's a periodic table). I click on the swatch panel and it tells me something like "unamed Swatch 3" but I can't seem to get how to find out exactly what values those colors contain.

I'm looking for a method to change the status text in an illustrator drawings' titleblock by changing metadata fields linked to fields in a drawing.
At work we are using SolidWorks EPDM for managing workflows in the engineering and design departments. This includes having the program set the file status texts in titleblocks of drawings/reports. The way this works is that the metadata of a file (Custom properties for SolidWorks and Ms Office files) is changed by EPDM. The Next time the file is opened the fields linked to the metadata are automatically shown the new value. Also if the file is in a read-only state (so non-editors still see and print the correct version of the file).
This method does not work for PDF and AI files since we can not access any properties. This means that our illustrators who design labels,etc. need to open these files themselves and change texts. Even if files are at a stage they should not be modified any more.

Photoshop CS6, running on 2006 iMac, OS X 10.7.5. Opened a .tif file (which did not have a Date File Created in its file properties. Saved it as a .psd file using "save as". In Bridge, Date File Created shows 12/31/03 7:00:00 PM.

I do not remember which version I was running before this one, but it was possible to press ALT + ENTER to open a properties dialog where one could enter / modify a description for the opened image. ALT + ENTER does nothing in this new version, but I think that I should enter the File -> Properties dialog to do this, right? The dialog is different and it is in a different menu now, but it seems here is where we should enter / edit image metadata. However, nothing that I fill in this dialog is saved. I enter the title, author, description, etc., but when I click OK the info is discarded without warning. If I go back to the File -> Properties dialog right after confirming the data I had just entered, the dialog is blank again.Is this a bug or am I looking for the enter / edit metadata functionality in the wrong place?

Also, I get an error message when I go into my CUI to try to modify the quick properties tab. Pretty frustrating. I've attached a couple of images for reference. Somehow the Properties Palette has gotten less wide- such that I can't read teh actual properties. Previously I was able to make it wider just by hovering over it, clicking on an arrow and dragging it wider. Not now.

I only wanted the one stretch, so I will have to go in manually and will never get them exact, or just start fresh, so I wondered if there is a way to restore them to their original properties. Also is there a way to avoid what I did? It also stays in "stretch mode" when I typed in a different font, which is how I noticed because the o's are supposed to be almost a perfect circle and they were ovals, so it was obvious, although the first font wasn't to me.
