I am creating a poster in A1 format. My printer can only print up to A4, so I would like to break up my poster into 8 A4 pages to print a preview before sending the doc off to the printer.
View 4 RepliesI was sent a detailed map in dwg format that shows a river in the country. The model has a layer called sheets that has 17 rectangles in many orientations which overlap and cover the data i wish to print. There is a layout tab called "Sheet 2 to 17" which show page 17 with a tempalte when the pointer is over the tab similar to Windows 7 Aero, but if you open the layout the page space is blank. I'm not familiar with the use of a layer to break the drawing into multpile overlapping sheets and my end goal is to print the model as the 17 defined sheets on 11 x 17 paper.

On the window platform in another software program the multiple pages and/or poster options appear in the print window. But not in Photoshop on my mac. I have made sure to download the newest drivers etc.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI converted a large document from RGB to CYMK (File | Document Color Mode). I'd like to select all of the text that was RGB(0,0,0) and is now CMYK(75.02,67.97,67.02,90.16) so I can change it to CMYK(0,0,0,100). I think the magic wand is the way to do this (correct me if I'm wrong).
I have text in a dozen or more text areas. Many of the text areas overflow text into another text area. Some of the text in the text areas is "black" but there is also text with other colors that I'd like to remain unchanged.
For example, I'd like to select all of the black text in the following two text areas without selecting the red text. I thought that I could click on the black text and have all the black text (but not the red text), selected, but the entire text box is selected (and nothing in the second text box is selected). Can the wand select some text within several text boxes? If not, how should I go about changing the black?
Every time I open a multi-page pdf in illustrator, it only opens the first page.. Why is this, and is there an option to change it? CS5
View 1 Replies View RelatedI work on Mac and would like to print a design over multiple pages. The recurring problem however is that the printed sheets have a thin unprinted, blank border. I've tried various options in the print dialogue box, including all the borderless page setup options. This 2mm border keeps appearing in my prints. This is for silkscreening, so even though its only a 2mm border, this gap prevents me from putting all the printed sheets together as one design. The design, via the print dialogue box, is being saved as a PostScript file due to doing colour separations.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI'm working in Illustrator 6. I've got a large piece that I'd like to print onto several 11x17 sheets. When I select Veiw---Show Print TIling, only one tile appears. I expect there to be enough tiles to cover the entire piece and be numbered for me? Where are they? How do I get them to appear?
Then when I go to Print the tile option in the print dialog is greyed out.
I know I've done this before in earlier versions.
I am working with multiple page document in Illustrator CS6. I have saved my document in .pdf. Before I managed to open the whole file, but now it asks me which page I want to open. Can I some way open again the file as a multi page file and work with all the files at the same time?

I have some lines with outer glow on them, but Illustrator won't render these unless I use 72DPI in raster effects reslution. I would like to go higher, but it won't give me anything. Guessing it's to heavy for Illustrator maybe? Is there anything I can do about this? I'm making my graphics in 1:1 scale, but I do it in a lower scale since it's just vector art anyway, however how would that effect my glow? Since it's a raster effect.

I have used all methods-drag and drop, using the move menu from the pages panel, etc. However, when I do move the pages, the pages that I moved appear in the new document with the master page items from that document on them, which I do not want. Also, I have multiple master pages in each document.

- Create a new document using one of the Profile presets (or have the New Document dialogue open so I could select the profile, size and bleed)
- Make 3 layers, each with a diferent name
- Create a rectangle the size of the artboard on the bottom layer, with a swatch stroke and no fill
- Create a rectangle the size of the bleed on the middle layer, with no stroke or fill
Like I said, I haven't gotten far at all. I've read through the basic scripting guides and I'm just not understanding all of the language needed to string things together.

Is there a way to create an object/group in Illustrator and then copy it across one document in multiple places (multiple art boards, etc.) - allowing the designer to then update the original and seeing the changes cascade to all copies?
I know this can be done using InDesign by linking an Illustrator file and making subsequent updates to that Illustrator file. But I do not want to use InDesign, I want to use Illustrator. What I want is much like creating Symbols in Flash, updating one will cascade throughout the file.
I make pdf ainally and if I just paste texture into all pages = huge size pdf. When I make it in microsoftword all background pictures have weight as one pic.

how do you override master pages for the entire document, not just page-by-page? I have a multi-page document and want to ba able to edit type of all pages but the text areas are locked.

I have just completed a 25 page document using hundreds of symbols but when I have just tried to publish it to PDF certain symbols do not appear?
I have looked back through the file and found that the ones that do not appear also no longer show the image in the symbol library but when i insert them in to the drawing they show up fine.
I have multipage (16 pages) document with linked frames of paragraph text. Every page consists of 2 linked frames of paragraph text and second one is linked to the first one of the next page. When printed, it prints only first two pages as a whole. And the 3-rd and all the others prints only first frame of the page and two rows of the second frame of the page.
Is this my printer (Canon LBP3010) or the CorelDRAW ?
BTW: Paste 16 pages from WORD to Corel X6 takes infinity and crashes. In Corel 9 it takes about a minute for 80 pages!
I need to design a large logo for a billboard ad. The dimensions are about 14'x6' I spoke with the printing company and they weren't all that helpful about DPI & such. The most info I could get was that they print at 150 DPI, and if I wanted to make my image smaller they will scale it up.
it's a very elaborate pixel based graphic that I don't want to be distorted when blown up. So, I've been trying to design at the literal dimensions of the sign, and 150 pixels/inch (in CS3). Problem is that I'm getting all kinds of scratch disk errors (even with 250gb free) and excessively long wait times between modifications to the document.
Is there any smaller size I can put this document to or anything I'm missing? I realize that I should be using a vector design, but the person I'm doing it for is very set on an elaborate pixel design with tons of detail.
Would like to know if Autocad has any thing that i could use to break multiple line at one time with out going to each line and using the break command. Using Autocad 13.

I can do the pdf from psd, but just as picture, so i cant select txt in .pdf.

In Illustrator the pdf is oki, but i cant make there more pages in one pdf document.
I want to know why CorelDraw won't let me select several curves at a time and break them apart simultaneously. When I select more than one (by marquee or shift key) it greys out the "break apart" command, and Control-K won't work either. I did find a work-around macro in an old post, but I don't understand why the CorelDraw programmers turn off the break-apart command for multiple selections.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been using Photoshop to create a series of web pages. I have about 20 such pages right now.Unfortunately, I need to change the navigation menu that is found on all 20 pages.
To make these changes, do I need to change 20 different files? Or is there a way to link one layer group to multiple PSD files so that editing it once results in it changing on all 20 pages?
My brother sent me a TIF file that had multiple pages within it. I never knew this was possible. Is this something that can be done in Photoshop then converted to a TIF file? Once I opened the TIF file, it allowed me to flip from one page to the next so the pages weren't all scanned side by side.
