I am trying to add a shadow effect for dimension to just a section of the edge on the inside of a circular ring. Is there a way to make a drop shadow do this on the inside? Or do I need to look at some other technique?
View 8 RepliesI created a simple symbol from a circle with a cross inside (two rectangles). The symbol has two states labelled "normal" and "over" in which background colors change : on mousover and mouseout on the circle, sym.stop("over"); and sym.stop("normal"); respectively.
The problem : "over" when the cursor hovers over the circle, but back to "normal" when it hovers over the cross. The API suggests to use mouseenter and mouseleave to avoid child elements of the symbol interrupt the mouse event. I tried it, but the behavior is the same.
Is there any JavaScript solution (I'm a beginner, coming from AS3), or should I bypass with two flattened graphics "normal" and "over" ?
A client brought in a family "forest" as she calls it, and requests us to recreate it for her. She wants us to update it every two years so I'm hoping there's an easy way to do this.
I need to have each generation in its individual "textbox" so that I can edit leading. If I combine each generation under one main name (1st gen through 5th gen) then the original leading would be impossible to recreate.
I'm trying to draw a circle and an ellipse so that the ellipse shares exactly two points of contact between the two paths (not centered).
This is seemingly impossible with the tools provided since, if you draw an ellipse normally, with the anchor points of the ellipse on the circlular path, there are four points of contact, which means the two paths overlap.
I've tried revolving a line segment that goes from the edge of the circle to the middle of the circle (not center) with similar results.
Drawing the ellipse first doesn't work either.
Astute Graphics has a plug-in, Subscribe that would almost work, except it only draws circles, not ellipses.
Am I overlooking someting extremely obvious, or am I correct to say that illustrator can't do this? I'm using CS5. Maybe this is something that is fixed in CS6 with a snap to path option?
How can I place text around a circle, but align the text so the left edge of each word/phrase is what touches the circumference, like this: [URL]

View 2 Replies View RelatedUsing Autocad 2000LT and trying to locate as many 1.5" diameter circles as I can within a 21" diameter circle keeping all the circle .500" apart from any other circle and .500" away from the outer edge. Am using the array function. Trying to bring the first circle up to the line thats .500" in from the 21" outside diameter.
First when I zoom the 1.5" circle looks like a series of lines, not a smooth round circle. First how do I smooth out the appearance of the circle. Second, what commands do I use to move the edge of the circle to just tough the line so that when I measure from the outside dia to the far edge of the small circle I get 2".

I create a square, 300px by 300px. I duplicate the square, resize to 200px by 200px. Highlight both, press Ctrl-F4 and remove the inside box. What I have left looks like a picture frame. Is there a way to shadow the inside area? (the part I cut out)

Im trying to weld text into the inside of a circle. I can weld the base lines of my text to the circle's edge but i can get the base line to follow the curve of the circle.
This is a practice design for a laser engraver. Im new to Corel and laser engraving. The shop I work at has the equiptment and software for the process and I've recently been granted access to do some personal stuff.

(as opposed to around the outside) I've seen a couple tutorials that reference a little black arrow to move selections (I think within the Text tool menu) , and change orientation of text. For example, I have drawn a shape with my Wacom tablet using a blush. I then converted it to a shape instead of keeping it a stroke by expanding it. But it will not allow me to now draw inside of it, even though it is a shape.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI created a kitchen counter in Revit 2011 however, when I try to create a section it does not show what a section should show such as the shelves that are inside the cabinet. It just basically shows what an elevation would show. I checked all my settings and everything is good. What could be the problem? I created another family as well and when I do a section it shows what should be seen in a section. The same thing happens when I put the counter into a project. The section does not show correctly as well as the wireframe visual style does not show in plan view. It show as if it were in hidden line.

As I add additional letters or numbers the circle increases in diameter automatically to fully encircle whatever it is I type. The more letters or numbers the larger the circle and the fewer the letters or numbers the smaller the circle?

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen creating cross section views ("Home>Section Views>Create Multiple Views"), my sections are being placed at the exact boundary of the viewport (viewport is per my template).
Surely there's a way to create a margin inside the viewport.
Here's a screen shot of what I'm seeing. Notice how the dotted "Plot Area Boundary line is going right thru the left axis labels and on top of the bottom axis blue line (which means the bottom axis labels will NOT be seen).
I have a symbol called Rectangle and a text field called Counter on the stage. Inside the symbol I have another textfield called Counter2. For the .click event of the symbol I have:
sym.setVariable("checker", "1");
sym.$("Counter").html(sym.getVariable("checker"));
sym.setVariable("checker", "0");
sym.$("Counter2").html(sym.getVariable("checker")); //error here?
But I noticed that only Counter is being changed and that Counter2 was not targeted. How do I target Counter2 without having to move it to the main timeline?
