I have a vector that I would like to add a line of text to in another language...
At the top of the image attached with have the word "News" which is in the Rockwell font. I would like to create the same warp and change the word news to news in Swedish.
I haven't a problem with the font or creating outlines etc...just getting the exact bend shown here...
I am not sure what tools would have been used?

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I am basically a brand new user to ai-cs6 and have been working on a project for a friend. I've drawn up the basic components of the logo she wants, all separate individual pieces. My intention is/was to trace in each piece, and scale, rotate, and clean them up according to how the final piece should look. Where I'm running into trouble is that the sketches are not point perfect, meaning there's some shading in the hand drawn, and the lines are rough in areas. I'm trying to avoid redrawing the pieces because we both are really happy with where they're at.
What I'd like to do with ai-cs6. How to trace very simply a one line vector of the outline of the image. So instead of creating a piece that has stroke straight from the scanned in artwork, I get a single line, with multiple points, that flows the simple shape of the piece. From there it seems it would be pretty simple to just increase the stroke weight and modify the style of line to make it look how we would like. except that since the sketch has some rough line sections ai-cs6 is adding either a lot of detail and making it look pretty rough, or it's missing entire sections and leaving them blank.

When I open the image in illustrator I can select the text but not edit it. Removing each piece of the letter distorts the background.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI was designing a business card as usual and copying some vector images from Illustrator, but when I tried to enter some text it came up blank...the color shows a question mark (?) even after I attempt to change the color.
I've seen the question mark before but all I needed to do in the past was select that little button and change it.
Im making a logo for a client and am having a nightmare of a time trying to properly use the clipping masks in illustrator CS5. I copied and pasted the logo I made behind itself with a different color just for a drop shadow-like effect. And now I'm trying to apply this diagonal line pattern I created over top the "shadow" I made to give it some texture.
Here's an example of what I'm going for, only imagine the line pattern on the text instead of banner.
I must have hit a hotkey or something because now when I drag select vector and text and copy paste inside the same document it only pastes unformated text back without any vector.
When I use create outlines on the text it copies fine but if Im just copying everythign together or only the text object I get unformated text back.
I downloaded a vector image with sample text from a stock image website. How do I use Illustrator to edit the sample text?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm using an international English version (I think) of Adobe Photoshop CS6, and I'm making a catalog that has Chinese type in it. I've encountered a problem with the paragraphing in that new lines often begin with periods or commas, and lines sometimes end with open brackets.
Is there a way to set line break rules for Chinese fonts? I'm using an OpenType font (Adobe Heiti), but I can't find the options to change the line break rules.
I'll omit the long background --- suffice it to say I did this once and need to do it again, but can't recall the toolchain / workflow I used.
I _think_ it was Macromedia FreeHand 8, and that I used a plug-in w/in that program, but I can't recall. Any way other than rendering the drawing as a half-toned bitmap and then tracing it? Or re-drawing the image on top of such a bitmap?
Is AutoCAD capable of translating text (changing on the drawing) from one language to another?

However, the programs he gave me are all in Chinese. Well, I searched on the web, and I found solutions for Photoshop and Dreamweaver, but I need Illustrator for an upcoming project and it would be best if it was CS4. I would like a solution for Flash and Fireworks, to, but the most important is Illustrator.
View 8 Replies View Relatedwhile trying to type a text in Greek language on a photo. I have to tell you that i have done in the past many times this job (type Greek letters on a photo for watermarks etc) with the same program and the same computer until two days ago!
I checked the input method, i resetted the values inside the options from gimp preferences , i uninstalled the program twice and reinstalled it, i removed all the app Data for the specific software but still doesn't work. When i try to type Greek letters , i get strange symbols that i cannot paste here! It pastes normally the characters that i wrote on. I use gimp 2.8.3 and my OS is Mac OS Lion 10.7.4
i'd like to 'write' texts on paper with plotter's pen. i cannot use "Type>Create Outline" because i just want a single-line writing look. is there any way to achive that without me having to vector draw the whole text manually?

If I draw a rectangle and use Extrude&Bevel to create a 3D "box" shape, how do I wrap a single line of text around three of the sides? I've created a Symbol from the text, and it shows up in the "Map Art" dialog window's "Symbols" selection, but only one face of the 3D box is shown at a time. I was hoping to see a flattened box shape showing all six faces so I could accurately place the line of text. Similar to what you see when you revolve a path to get a 3D object.
It's even worse if I apply a bevelled edge to the extrusion -- then there are 40 separate "faces" to deal with.
How to put text inside a line and then bend both of them to fit a line in graph. I've made a line at 22 points and then I've put text inside. Thought it would look cool. How do I make them become one so that I can bend them together? And how do I bend them the easiest way?

View 4 Replies View Relatedi'm working in Illustrator, suddenly the Z becomes Y instead and all other signs are somewhere else - it basically changes language keyboard. I work with a swiss german keyboard but my program language is english. My regional preferences are set up correctly and no other applications give me this grief except Illustrator. I'm forced to shut it down and re-open, then the keyboard is back to its correct state, until it switches again.
I don't understand what causes it to suddenly switch keyboards while I'm working - how I can make Illustrator STOP it? It's especially unnerving since the Undo command Ctrl+Z gives you Outline mode instead.
I'm using Adobe Illustrator CS6 but there is no Urdu Language in there. I mean i cannot type Urdu Language in Illustrator. Adobe Photoshop CS6 is fine and urdu language is compatiable with Photoshop but i'm having problem with Illustrator CS6 and InDesing CS6.

Imagine of the text was something squishy, and I pushed it down onto the top of an arc. I've only been working with Adobe CC for about a week now. I've seen lots of examples of having the text follow a curved path, but they all curve the entire thing, whereas I only want the bottom of the text to curve.
