GIMP :: Changing Size Of The Image - Width Changing

Mar 17, 2013

I want to change the size of the image in Gimp to 3957x4429 px (67x75 cm) at a 150dpi (the image we have has a 300 dpi.) When i do this in image - print size it keeps changing the width.

The system is not allowing me to get the picture a few cm larger. Is there any way I can overwrite this?

Photoshop :: Panels Keep Minimizing (CS4 - Win 7)?

Jul 18, 2012

I'm using Photoshop CS4 on Windows 7 at work and every time I minimize or close Photoshop and then maximize/re-open, my Swatches and Layers panels are minimized. My workspace is saved, and I've tried resaving it (including panel locations, shortcuts and menus).

If i'm just simply switching programs/windows, it doesn't happen. Its only when the entire program is closed or minimized. It doesn't make any difference if I have a file open or not. Screenshots: left is before minimizing, right is after minimizing and maximizing again.hasn't always happened. Its jsut been in the last few months, and its driving me nuts. I mean its not like its hard to open them again, but when i'm switching back and forth between other programs and trying to do things quickly, it gets extremely irritating.

It doesn't happen on my colleague's computer, and she has the same version of everything. I've never seen it happen before (before it started doing this).I have CS5 (and have had CS3 and CS4 in the past) on my Mac at home and its never happened. Although you can't actaully minimize Photoshop on Mac anyway.

Photoshop :: Minimizing Photos Outside Of CS6?

Oct 19, 2012

I've got PSCS6. I work with multiple images at once and sometimes I have to minimize them to make room as I use PS maximized over my desktop and I use litestep as my computers shell so I don't have the taskbar in the way. Anyways, I find that PSCS6 likes to minimize my images to the hidden taskbar, which I find annoying as all hell. Why isn't it minimizing the photos within PS like it did in CS5? And is there anyway to make it do that again in CS6?

AutoCAD Map 3D :: Dialog Minimizing Windows 7

Jun 11, 2012

I am working with and extension to AutoCAD Map 3D 2012 on Windows 32. When a dialog opens it sometimes immediately minimizes and must be restored via the Windows task bar. I have also noticed that the dynamic input command line is visible when the dialog disappears and is present even if the dialog does not disappear. I have shown this in the image below.  This also occurs on Windows 7 64 bit, as well.

If I set the workstation to windows Basic Theme or turn off dynamic input, this does not occur.

Lightroom :: Minimizing And Expanding 3.5 On MAC Lion?

Nov 15, 2011

I am using LR 3.5 on the MAX OSX Lion.  This problem has been going on for some time, so I am pretty sure it predates 3.5 and lion.     If I minimize LR to the dock to do something else, then go back to the dock to expand, sometimes it doesnt expand...   The only way to get it back is to click on the icon so that menu bar at the top of the screen is Lightroom's, then quit Lightroom from the menu and relaunch...

AutoCAD Inventor :: Minimizing Groups In A Form

Dec 10, 2013

I am creating a large form.  The goal of the form means I am unable to break it down into smaller forms as there is a great deal of interaction between all levels of the form.

One of my first fields is a multi-value field (Foundation Type) with four options  (None, Slab, Piers, Wall).   Three of those options have a group of fields lower in the form with between 1 and 5 fields.

(Multi:Value Option: Example of fields specific to that option)

Slab: Thickness, Edge Depth, Edge Width
Piers:  Diameter, Depth.Offset
Wall:  Footing (T/F), Depth, Width,

I currently disable all of the groups of fields that are not part of the active option in the primary multi-value field throught the (Enabling Paramter Name) option with a rule.   This keeps the user from entering values that affect a Foundation Type that is not currently active, but the disabled fields take up a lot of room on my form and may confuse end user less familiar with the system,

The group function in the form has a minimize toggle next to the group name, but the Form Editor does not show any options to manipulate this toggle.    Is there a way to automatically toggle this minimize/maximize function through a rule or other means)?  Or are there any other means of hiding form fields that are not currently enabled?

Photoshop :: Jpeg To Vector Conversion And Minimizing Colors?

It has become quite a pain as I am looking to be able to do these designs on my own. btween the jpeg and the final "proof" jpeg how to make the vector to send off for production

GIMP :: Changing Image To Different Color

Jun 30, 2011

I have an image and all I want to do is change it to a different color. So if the image is mostly red, I want to shade it blue but still keep its quality, meaning the light-red pixels will turn light-blue, and the dark-red pixels will turn dark-blue.

I prefer an option that automatically changes all the colors for the entire image, but if there is a shader tool where I have to manually shade the image, that'll work too.

I input the image, then I went to Image > Mode > RGB, and from there I went to Colors > Colorize and used the sliders to change the image to the color I want.

GIMP :: Changing Colors With Colorize?

Jun 28, 2013

Somebody want me to edit their picture where an orange tank top has to be changed for a dark blue color. That person did provide the specific HTML code # for the color wanted. Once the tank top is selected, how do you manage to colorize it to that very specific HTML color. Unless I'm wrong, "colorize" is the only function that add color to something without losing the detail of the original picture. All other thing you can use to change the color only add a solid opaque color. You can desaturate the tank top, open a new layer and add the specific HTML color to that layer and then reduce the opacity but...even thought the details that were lost are now visible, the color has changed.

So that the fur of the animal looks purple/mauve (in particular the gray part, it would be best if the white part didn't change).

I haven't found a way to do this, even approximately (which would be enough), in a textured surface. Methods I've seen changing the hue saturation seem to work when working with primary colors, but I can't get it to work with a gray color.

GIMP :: Changing Semi-Monochrome Color

Jul 30, 2013

I am downloading semi-monochromatic picture files that I will be using for multiple applications. The image is originally semi-monochromatic with red and white being the only colors used. A complex image is created by adding more or less white to the red color. The image for each application I have in mind needs to be distinguished by the primary color of the image. I need to change this color first to green, then to orange, and so on. Is there a global command to change this one color?

I use the term semi-monochromatic because the pictures aren't actually black and white.

GIMP :: Saving Images For Web Without Colors Changing

May 1, 2011

I probably overlooked something in the documentation, but I have a hard time saving an image with the exact colors I want:

1- I have created an image with a specific shade of blue in background: #e4eaef.
2- If I use the GIMP color picker, I can see that the background is exactly #e4eaef.
3- I save the image as a png.
4- I open the png in the browser (Firefox), and I measure the color of my background with a system tool (Digital Color Meter), and it has changed to #dde5ea, which is not cool, because it doesn't blend on my web page.

I also used Digital Color Meter to measure the color directly on Gimp, and I have also #dde5ea.

GIMP :: Changing White In Foreground To A Color?

Mar 13, 2012

I can crop images, resize, and do a few other things but that is about the extent of my skills.

I am currently attempting to theme some images in an Android ROM but I'm not able to change the colors the way I want. Essentially I have a bunch of images with transparent backgrounds and white in the foreground. I simply want to swap out the white for another color (red, green, blue, whatever).

I have attached a sample image that I am working on. How on earth do I change the white to red (FF0000) for example? I tried using the select by color tool and clicking in the white area. Then I changed the foreground color to FF0000 and tried to paint into it. It doesn't seem to do anything but paint more white?

Some options were completely disabled for my image. For example, I went to Colors > Map and found that both Color Exchange and Rotate Colors are disabled. Why?

P.S. I have roughly 200 images that I need to perform this action on (and I may even do this with multiple colors -- create a blue set, a red set, etc.) so if there is some way to automate this process I would love to know. I'm a software developer and run Linux so I typically just write bash scripts for tedious tasks such as these. I know there is script-fu in gimp but I'm not familiar with it. Can I just call gimp within a bash loop and pass it some option to do this color change and save the new image for me?

My question is, shouldn't there be a noticeable difference in quality of the images?
