View 3 RepliesWhat I want to do, is take the path tool, make a pattern around a picture (which is rectangle) placing it on a picture of a board like this...and then pull the picture horizontally, and vertically, to make it circular, to fit the perimeter of the board. If I understand it correctly, when you use the path tool...it allows you to make an image round (from rectangular) is that true?

I cannot think of a good way to explain the color layout in this image, but I'd like to know how to make this using colors I want.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAny way to change what colors make up an image. I have a palette of 400+ colors that I'd like the image to be composed of but I can't find a way to convert it to only use those colors. Changing the mode to indexed mode doesn't work since you can only index 256 max colors.
Is there any plug-ins or tools I am missing that can do this? (Basically it will change every pixel in the image to the closest matching pixel from a large [400+ color] palette.
So I am creating this website, and my customer wants a header banner similar to this:
(I don't know if it's clear enough, but there are multiple lines going through the image, with different gradient colors and so on)
Now I can't use this image, since it belongs to another website, but I want to make my own. So, I have no clue about how to make these lines in GIMP. I know GIMP's interface very well (been cropping, coloring for years), but not advanced features like this.
And it's not only the lines, but also the shadowing/coloring in between the lines that I seriously have no clue about how to make.
What is the tool called used for making this? Is there a video tutorial on how to make something similar?
How do I make a 4 x 6 picture? I went to resize and converted to inches. i then put in 4 x 6, but it kept popping back to 4 x 4.
I have never used this program before, and I thought it looked easy, but I am evidently not doing something right.
The picture itself looks like a rectangular picture before I pulled it up in Gimp.
I am taking photo's of jewellery on a white background which shows as anything on a color scale from light blue through to grey. How can I make all my background colors the same shade of white.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm a new user of GIMP 2.6.11 for OSX, and I can't figure out how to make photo colors print correctly. My printer is an Epson 2200, driver version 8.37. When I print one of my old photos from Mac Preview, colors come out the same as they did when I used this printer from Photoshop 6 on my old Windows PC. When I print the same image from GIMP on the Mac (using the Print command, not Gutenprint, and selecting photo quality and specifying the right paper, etc), the colors are too far off for a simple CY, MAG, Y level adjustment to get back to what I expect. Under image properties GIMP says the color profile of the image is sRGB IEC61966-2.1, and the image appears the same on my monitor in GIMP as it does in Preview. But it appears GIMP may be using a different color profile for printing than for display. is that possible, and if so, how can I change it?

I don’t have a negative scanner, but I scanned it into my computer with my regular flatbed scanner, hoping I could figure how to work some magic with Gimp and get a regular picture out of the deal.
The best I could come up with was colors>invert. But that produced less than satisfactory results. In fact, in made it look more like a negative.

Other people somehow have their pictures on websites like they have already been framed. How to get this look, Im aiming at getting my pictures to look like they have a side on it so it looks like its on a boxed canvas. like the ones on e bay.
I obviously got far enough to add the images together and get the correct size. I just cant find any tutorials to show me how to make the layers blend and look more natural. I added a new background to an image and I want it to look like it belongs there:

Is there a relatively simple, automated tool in gimp to apply one picture's environment lighting properties to another picture?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm making background image for myself, and i know how i want it to be, but i cannot do it with my skills.
I have this "base" image that is 1920x1080 and i have to place there several (10-12) photos.
i want those photos to be different sizes and rotations and i also want them to have white border and some shadow.
I want those photos to be like in this image that i found from Google: What is the best and fastest way to do this in a gimp.
I am working on a project for my online class and am having difficulties with the History Brush. Note that both files are identical in size etc.
1. I created a color text file and saved it with a specific name.
2. I copied an existing photo from iPhoto, as I couldn't import into PhotoShop, and pasted it in a new file. I then removed the white background layer and then saved it with its now specific name and closed the file.
3. I re-opened the Color Text File.
4. I then re-opended my photo.
5. I performed a "Select All" from the menu bar of my active Photo then selected Edit - Copy and then closed my Photo file.
6. From my Color Text File I selected Edit and then Paste from the menu bar.
7. I selected Layer and Flatten Image from the menu bar.
8. I right clicked the background image from the Layers Panel and created a snapshot (which is my photo)
9. I selected the History brush and verified that this also displayed in the gray box associated with the Color Text file within the History Panel.
10. I verified that my photo image was displayed in my work area.
11. I start to fill the photo with my History Brush and the only color I get is White.
Is there any way to mix two colors and make new color in photoshop?
