Nov 27, 2011Is there anyway to turn the white outline around the crazy pony to black? The pixels aren't spaced together well enough to use the bucket thing...

I am trying to remove all the black and blue colors found in the attached picture, but it takes too long and intricate to do it space by space, so I was wondering how to remove a color found in the picture in one go.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI need to create an outline map for another application. The world is demarcated into areas, separated by black lines. The map must only have black & white pixels.
Some questions about using GIMP for this.
1. Is there a tool I can use to make every non-white pixel black?
2. Is there a tool I can use to eliminate isolated pixels of the wrong color (that is for me a black pixel with all neighbors white or vice versa)?
3. Is there a tool I can use to make the black lines thinner? It is desirable in my application to have the lines be only 1 pixel wide
I have a black-and-white outline drawing that I want to color in using the "Bucket Fill" tool. There are two things I'd like to do to make it easier:
1. Is there a way to prevent Bucket Fill from leaking through small gaps in the drawing? Usually what happens is, I fill in one region, and then suddenly a much larger region gets filled in. I then have to examine the borders of the region for a small opening, close the gap with black, and then try again. Is there a feature that lets me say e.g. "Don't fill through gaps less than 4 pixels wide"?
2. Once I'm done coloring, I want to remove the black outline to make a more realistic, less cartoony image. However, it's tedious to go and paint over every segment of the outline with the color of its adjoining regions. What I want to do is essentially: Replace every black pixel in the image with the color of the closest non-black pixel. Is there a feature that does this?
Also, if there are third-party plugins that do these things, that would work just as well.
i have this client and he gave me these 2 logos that he wants made into blackand white outline. can cut around everything and clean it up but its an extreme job.

View 5 Replies View RelatedOnce I have removed the background from around a picture and save as a .psd it looks perfect. only picture and transparent background - even if I slide a black background behind it all, there is no white outline - just as I want it. Then I delete the background color only leaving the picure and transparent background - I export to a .png from the .psd.
When I re-open the .png and slide a black background color layer behind the picture, I see a tiny white outline around the picture.
Do I have an issue with my erase command or my export to .png-8?

I created a logo and then opened it as a layer so that I can make a website header image. It is shown here [URL] and as you can see the background is an off-white colour. It is probably unnoticeable to many, but I would prefer to get it right. How can I make the background a pure white so that it blends in with the white of the wordpress theme?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to add an outline to text. Follow all the instructions and it has worked in the past, but most of the time it doesn't.
I select the text, then choose "path from text".
At this point the marching ants come out - but they only come out for about 2/3 of the text. The rest doesn't have them. When i try to create the outline it only creates it for the first two thirds. The missing 1/3 is on the right hand side. I tried to do a screen shot but the marching ants don't show.
When i upgraded recently the issue went away so i thought it was just a bug, but now its back.
Any way to take an existing font and remove the inside filled color so that only the font's outline shows?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI am trying to use the function to outline a border to text with the function "Path to text" but no matter how I try the path will only use 16-19 letters in one row.
I have read several guides on how to do this and no one mention anything about this issue. As long as I have 16 letters on one line it works, but I have more it will just skip them.
I write the text:
12345678901234567890
Then I click an choose "path to text", but when I do it will only create a path of 1234567890123456 and skip the rest. If I write text on several rows it will use up to 16 letter on each row.
Is there an limit to "Path to text" .

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am simply trying to outline some text. When I get to the "edit stroke" dialog box (where you specify number of pixels for width, etc.), it doesn't have an option for "line color". I thought it said it puts it in as the "last color used" or something like that. I keep setting the foreground color beforehand (to grey). It keeps putting the line in as red, when I want it grey. how you specify this color? Or if there is a simpler way to outline some text?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 2 layers and I want to mask one through the other. I've attached a png showing what I want. I tried to attach an .xcf file, but it won't do it, which seems strange for a gimp forum. Anyway, one layer is the text (black outline) and one layer is a colorful background. In the xcf, the background layer is entirely filled with the colorful stuff, but I want it to only show through the interior of the letters (as shown in the png).
