CorelDRAW X5 :: Color Management - Turning Off Printer Management?
Oct 19, 2011read that color management pdf by gennady petrov and tried a few things he wrote. I turned off color management in the printer driver, chose corel to manage color, and the image default profile sRGBxxxxx. picture was way dark and ugly. tried several other profiles and same dark picture. hmm that did not work so well.
went back to the printer driver and disabled no color management, and chose the profile Adobe RGB. still kept corel as manager and chose A RGB as the profile and the print looked spot on. Have not had problems printing from corel because I have come up with my own system, but was quite surprised at the result from turning off color management in the printer driver.

Jul 29, 2011Corel's strategy worked: I've given up the dumbhead's reliance on X4's color-management-off technique and am learning color management.
I have X5 running on an LED monitor with pretty good colors, outputting to an old Epson Photo Stylus 2200 inkjet printer. All I really need (right now) is to print out renderings of signs for customers' approval. I've made up a simple grid of Cyan-Magenta-Yellow (first row) and Red-Green-Blue (second row) using pure values from the color mixer:
Colors look decent enough on the RGB monitor, and the top row prints fine (printer is CMYK, after all). Red and Green on the second row are a little pale, but acceptable. It's the Blue that's the problem: I've divided the box to show the screen blue (upper left) and print blue (lower right); the latter is dark purple. Is this a gamut problem? Hard to believe the printer can't get any closer than that.

Apr 21, 2010The new color management system in CorelDraw X5. When I enable color management (only option is Microsoft ICM) in the Default Color Settings (under conversion settings) I get unfavorable results when converting a RGB to CMYK bitmap - it darkens and adds too much reflex color. When I disable the Color Conversion the bitmaps convert correctly, but the palette (and vector objects in the design) become reflex RGB.
Any generic prepress setting I can use that does not shift colours between RGB and CMYK bitmaps, and that displays the palette more accurately.
My current profile settings are:
RGB: sRGB IEC61966-2.1
CMYK: US Web Coated SWOP V2
Grayscale: Dot Gain 15%
CorelDRAW X6 :: Changing Color Management Presets Easily?
Sep 10, 2013I run three different printing and engraving systems at the same time with my business. Each system needs to have a different color management preset selected or the prints are screwed up. Each time I open a file I have to go to tools..color management ... default settings. and check or change the preset. It seems like half of my day is spent doing this and from time to time I forget and screw up a print. Is there a macro or docker or something that will display what preset is in use on my screen some where and maybe even give me an option to click on it and change the preset? Each file is normally only for one particular system so if there is a way to save the file so that the preset that was used when saving it comes back up when it is opened would be useful too.

Sep 30, 2011I've been struggling with the color management in CorelDraw X5 for awhile. I usually just design blind and check the print out or exported images after the fact to see if they're how I initially intended. The image above is exactly how the design looks in Draw.
This next image is how it looks when I print it out or when I export it to a JPG or PSD or other bitmap.
I've been researching for awhile on the color management and have tried many many varieties. I'm still not sure what the deal is. If it was my monitor or drivers I don't think I would be getting the result I want after I export the image, although I haven't tried updating the driver yet.
Below is my current configuration.

Apr 10, 2013Something has changed dramatically between X4 & X6 when printing color.
Using X4 right out of the box with no "tweaking" all pantone colors print perfect on Xerox 700 Digital Color Press.
Trying to print same pantone colors in X6 with no "tweaking" on Xerox 700 Digital Color Press, color is not even close.
Is there a way to setup X6 to replicate color management of X4.

See the red marked area, where it is not accepting to select the rgb or cmyk. Only accepts the Lab only. It is changing the X5 but not in the X6.

I tried clicked on tools -color management but it opens document setting and that's it.
I am using X-15 and just not sure what I am doing wrong.

Jun 25, 2011I'm having issues when printing from CorelDraw X5, These issues are only on our newest machine so its a fresh clean install of the printer, OS and Corel itself, So I'd like to know how I can get my printer to print exactly what I view on screen, Some colors come out fine however others tend to be different, For example:
When I print a color which displays as a light grey/silver in corel, It prints this in a Lilac-ish color. When I try to print gold it comes out more of a yellow rather than the gold in Coreldraw,
From what I've read using the search on the forums, I must have my monitor, printer and corel all using the same colour profile, I've tried this but to no avail (Maybe I'm not doing it right?) The majority of my documents are in CMYK and I have the same problem from both new documents and ones I've saved from before (i.e the gold was to be a re-print of a customer order) .

First let's get this straight, I've written it and said it about a thousand times, you cannot turn off color management.
When you select simulate color management off in the default application color management dialog, CorelDRAW simply utilizes a different set of color management settings. The rules of color management never change! The application requires guidelines on color and still must have rules that govern conversions, PERIOD.
These rules are not different, only the engines, rendering intents and profiles change. These setting in X5 and X6 can be, in some cases adjusted to simulate previous setting in versions prior to X5 that were labeled color management off, but this label in older versions (X4 and older) were deceptive in their nature, color management was never turned off, just set to a specific configuration.
Simulate color management off (in X5/X6) uses wide gamut cmyk simulation as the CMYK profile, it disengages the color engines (setting CorelDRAW to another internally controlled process) and sets the interface to RGB. It does not turn color management off.
These settings have many uses for industries such as laser engraving and screen printing separations and I support their continued use. Do not confuse this and use these settings for professional output using press work, ink jets or digital printers.

Nov 1, 2012Document colors in Corel Draw X3 have changed. Example: dark green is now black on my designed object; Teal is now light green.
I thought it might be color management had switched somehow but all management settings do not make a change as they did before or at all. Basically I think the problem lies in the color management. I re-installed the program but the problem remains. Color management does not affect color appearances as they used too before.I run windows 7 and have had it for a couple of years with no problems.

May 16, 2012I have a problem with CorelDraw X6.
When printing 100% black on laser printer the Black is all in raster. Very strange because the same file printed from X4 /same PC and same printer/ is OK and is not in raster.
Probably the problem is somewere in X6.
I don't belive that the problem is in the color management because it's the same as my X5 and there all is OK too.

Photoshop :: Color Management - What Color Working Space Should Be Set
Feb 22, 2013I've just got a new monitor and i have downloaded an ICC profile to use as i don't have calibration hardware yet. I've loaded it in Windows using color management. My question now is what color 'working space' i should set in Photoshop.
I must say that learning about color has been a steep learning curve for me so I have tried to avoid it as much as i can!!! If a total novice guide on color has been covered in another thread just point me there!
Illustrator :: Spot Color Swatches In AICS6 And AICC Do Not Match Color In Design
Feb 24, 2014Some of the lighter, saturated colors in the PANTONE+ swatches library appear to be a different color in the swatch list than they are when applied to a design. see below for screen shots.
i can duplicate this situation on calibrated NEC MultiSync monitors and uncalibrated laptops. We are running on Mac OS X.8x and above.
Designers are complaining about not being able to pick a color from the Swatch Library in AICS6 or AICC. InDesignCC does not seem to have the same issue.
Paint Shop Pro :: Color Profile To Match LR Export Color Space
Nov 21, 2011I'm exporting Tiff Prophoto files from Lightroom into PSPX4 for further processing. The images are 1 to 2 stops under exposed when compared to Lightroom's image.I have selected PSPX4 color profile to match LR export color space.
I have tried exporting the Tiffs as sRGB and adode1998 and still the images are under exposed. I have little knowledge about color management and have searched around the web for possible answers, but no luck.

Lightroom :: How To Color-correct / Color-match Lot Of Photos To Certain Target
Feb 11, 2012I have something like 1,850 photos, taken in RAW and later converted to DNG, to create a stop motion. All the photos were taken with the same camera (Canon 5D Mk II) and most of them with a 24-70L. All were taken in the same lighting conditions (in an interior, with the house lighting from flourescent lights) and the same day, in a period of maybe 2 or 3 hours. Each "take" was with the exact same camera and exposure parameters.
When processing the photos in Lightroom (using the LR4 beta) I can see some minor but very noticeable differences between color an exposure in the photos of the same "take". The exposure can be more or less automatically corrected by the Matching total exposures (although I think this doesn't work when the exposures are really similar, but there are some subtle differences like in this case, say, something along ~1/5 stop or so), but I haven't found how to try to match the white balance. All of the photos have already been set to a specific WB (I took a ColorChecker Passport at the beginning of the session), but there are still some differences between some of the shots. Some of them look a tad more greener. I blame the flourescent bulbs, but I'm not sure of the real cause.
So, the question is: is there a way to match the color balance of a series of photos to a target one? I really don't want to go photo by photo setting the white balance manually. Is there a tool like the Match total exposures, but for color balance? I have already tried with the automatic white balance, but the problem is that the decided WB for the photos is not the one I need, and I need to have the same WB for all the session, and this could change from different takes. The difference between shots is usually around 4 or 5 "points" in the Tint scale, some are with Tint +11, some with +15.
Or any other tool that could process this after? At the end I'll use JPGs to create the stop motion, so if there is a tool that could process the exported jpgs it could work too.

Aug 13, 2013I have a IMAC 27, i have had trouble with color management (monitor Vs Print). Whenever i alter an image, change the exposure, hue or saturation, it will not match monitor it receives a yellow overcast. Whenever I print the orginal image no problems. Why isn't photoshop picking up the changes?

Jun 5, 2008I have a windows xp system and I installed two new color profiles from www.eci.org cause I want to send graphics to offset print:
1. eci_offset_2007.zip = ISO Coated v2 (ECI) = ISOcoated_v2_eci.icc
2. ecirgbv20.zip = eciRGB v2 = eciRGB_v2.icc
These new profiles are correct installed and display under start->systemconifiguration->color profiles.
But when I try to choose these in photoshop colorsettings SHIFT+CTRL+K in RGB: or CMYK: they are not listed. I restarted photoshop and the whole system but no chance. Only one additional profile under RGB: is listed which comes from spyder2express for my monitors - rest is default.

Jul 7, 2008I recently installed Design Premium CS3. The applications are showing my images too saturated and with too much contrast. I have tried turning off color management, using my monitor specific profile, but nothing seems to change the color and contrast representation within Adobe aps.
If I use my Windows File Explorer and chose preview to look at an image, the image looks fine. When viewed in Bridge, Camera Raw, or Photoshop, the image is no where near the same and is way too hot already, making it very difficult to edit the image.

May 9, 2008I am using CS3 with Vista and printing with an Epson 1280 printer. I have calibrated my monitor. I downloaded Vista drivers for the 1280. Epson says that the ICC profiles are internal to the driver and thus, not available to PS. I placed the ICC profiles I have been using with PSCS and Windows XP into the same folder in Vista. Epson suggests letting the printer do the color management.
I have tried many combinations for letting the printer manage the process with no luck. The prints are darker than the screen version and colors subdued with reds tending toward orange.
The photo space is proRGB. I have used a gamma of 2.2, color mode set to automatic and have increased saturation and brightness. I have also tried increasing the CMY values.

Aug 15, 2006I cannot get Illustrator to produce the same spot colors on screen as in Photoshop. I use Pantone Warm Red in all corporate collateral and the color swatch in Illustrator appears to be orange but in Photoshop it is truer to the original spot. I just purchased Eye-One Design to help remedy the problem but after calibrating and applying color management to the OS (Windows XP) and within the applications (Adobe - synchronized through Bridge)the color in Illustrator still looks the same. I do get a redder color when printing from Illustrator after applying the color profile but the screen image is still orange. This affects files I send off for web.

Mar 4, 2008I shoot a lot of macro in RAW since a slight miscalculation might underexpose or overexpose the picture and I want to be able to correct it in Camera RAW.
However, I'm 99% of the time going to use the pictures in PowerPoint for presentations...
The problems I've had are:
1) Bridge - If I have color management unchecked in preferences - the picture looks good. If I tick it, then it goes slightly red. So, I've invested in fancy colorimeter - works better - but RAW still somewhat red.
2) Camera RAW - I open the image and I get it red (just like in Bridge with color management on- that is sligthly reddish). I have it set up in sRGB.
3) Photoshop - set up in sRGB (US Web coated??). Again - red, but when copied to Powerpoint - goes normal again - just like in non-color-matched Bridge... which looks good.
So how can I introduce a workflow and know how to color correct a picture if Camera RAW and Photoshop are lying to me? Can I set this in non-color corrected mode and take it for what windows can work with?

Aug 13, 2008I just installed Photoshop CS3 on my home PC, and seem to be having a problem with color management. When opening photos taken with my Canon G9, or even pictures downloaded off the web, in Photoshop they appear badly posterized. Viewing the same photos in the Canon ZoomBrowser, or with the standard Windows XP tools, they appear correct.
Obviously, my color management is not properly configured. I am using the standard North American defaults with sRGB for my RGB working space, and I've tried every RGB color management policy. My monitor is an older Dell 24" LCD (I don't have the model number in front of me right now). My monitor is not calibrated, but that would not account for the dramatic difference I see in Photoshop vs. other viewing applications.
The best I can achieve is by switching the RGB working space to Monitor RGB (or proofing with that configuration), and discarding the embedded color profile (sRGB in my Canon images). And yes, Photoshop does list the specific color space profile for my Dell monitor. This still results in a different color rendition from that which I see when viewing the same photo in other applications, with blues shifted slightly toward purple.
I have several other Mac and PC based Photoshop systems in my office, but I haven't had the chance to see how the same pictures look on those. It seems to me that this is something particular to the color space of my Dell monitor,

Jul 6, 2012EVery time I print a test target for color profiling, I open CS4 so that I can print with no color management. I can't figure out how to do it in CS6. I must be missing something obvious, but I just can't find the option to print without color management anywhere in the CS6 driver.
