I am trying to use corel draw x5 to create a template for a photo frame. I want my inside rectangle to be used as a stopping point for my images so the engraver doesn't engrave in the blank area in the middle of a frame.
View 1 RepliesOn my website, especially when pictures are side by side, I try to make all the same, i.e. square. To me it looks better. I have a picture that is rectangle and obviously cannot resize to a square - distorts the picture. I know there is a way to copy the rectangle picture into a square picture frame which allows the picture to be square while not distorting the rectangle size.
But I don't know how to do this. I have watched a video on this but still not clear how to do it.
We have a Universal Laser M360 that we were using Corel Draw 9 with and it worked fine. Now we are opening those cdr files in Corel Draw X5 and getting strange printing results: Missing words or sometimes whole lines. It's a really big problem for us. I have reinstalled the print drivers and even reset the CPU on the engraver. All of my RGB color settings seem correct.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am 2 days into using X6 instead of X4 attached to my trotec engraver, using XP.All goes well with the print to the trotec job control, with it picking up the red vector cut line.
But if I print multiple pages, or use print merge (which is essentially the same thing), the cut line only prints as red on the first page. From then on the print line is some grey colour and consequently the laser does not pick it up.
Have tried changing colour conversion to the Trotec, but this doesn't have any effect.
I'd like to make a graphic to be used to frame video footage for a music video I am shooting. I'd like for the 'frame' to make the footage look like a 1920's photo that is damaged around the edges. I want to give the audience the impression they are looking at an old photo that has an animated video in it.
I've exported a few samples as a test. The center was transparent upon export, yet became white when I re-opened the image. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. The background setting was selected as 'transparent'.

View 13 Replies View RelatedIt used to be that whenever i would move the cursor in adobe premier with either the left or right arrows or by simply clicking and dragging it, it would play the audio from that frame. But it is not doing it anymore, I think i must have accidently hit a shortcut key or something to change it in settings i dont know. But it would be good if I could get the setting to change it back. I know for a fact that my laptops speakers do work, so its not that.

When you place "Sharpen" and some third party plugin (Sapphire, NewBlue, BorisFX, ...) the 1 pixel wide rectangle starts to appear around the frame. Is it a bug?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like to use a photo frame from connect, and keep it in the Effects>Creative>Frame menu of frames. I have downloaded and clicked and dragged the frame to my image, but I would like to reuse this frame. Is it possible to add it to the menu? I can download it to the menu - but it is a temporary item in the list of views to the right, which can be replaced from any of the permanent members of the dropdown selection of frames on the left of the Frame menu. I would like a frame to become one of those "permanent frames."

The problem that I am having is whenever I try to create a rectangle with no fill, there is a shadow on the inside of the rectangle. Furthermore, if I make the border very thin, there is an issue with transparency. I'll let the attachment pictures speak for themselves, basically I just want these rectangle borders to be solid lines.

The way I do it right now is to make a black rectangle, then fit a smaller white rectangle inside it, and delete the overlapping black area, that leaves me with just an outline of whatever width I choose.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm extremely new to scripting; I managed to create a script to extend the artboard of my documents (which I was extremely proud of given my inexperience!) and another to align a couple of objects alongside each other, but my attempts to script some new code has met with failure.
Firstly, I need some Illustrator CS4 Javascript code that will create a bounding rectangle for the selected object(s). The selected object(s) will always be rectangular; no irregularly-shaped objects. I know this should be simple, but I can't work out the variables/attributes involved.
Secondly, some code to select the leftmost object in a document. And the equivalent for the rightmost object.
If it makes any difference, I'll be stitching these scripts together with an action to achieve the following workflow.
Two EPS files are dragged into an empty document as 'Linked Files'.The two Linked Files are aligned alongside each other. (Using a script I've already written.)The leftmost Linked File is selected and has a bounding rectangle created, which is then used to mask the Linked Object.The rightmost Linked File is then selected and has a bounding rectangle created, which is then used to mask the Linked Object.Both masked Linked Files are selected, and a bounding rectangle is created to mask them into the same Clipping Mask group.The artboard is set to the dimensions of this combined masked pair (I've managed to write that script already).The Linked Files are embedded into the document.
The reason for this is because we have EPS map files exported from AutoCAD that are left- and right-hand pages. These need to be combined into one file, but when they are brought in they lose their masks as the BBOX element is not recognised by Illustrator. The double-masking in my process above is needed to ensure that content from either map doesn't overlap the other half of the map.
I am trying to create a rectangle panel wood with sides with different angles (700x1000mm and thick of 15mm) 2 sides need to be 45degres and the 2 other 25degres.
I have tried withh the Extrude and taper function ...but this doesn t let me create different angles(taper) on each sides.
What would be the best way to do this? What other function could i use?

How can I make the image into a rectangle? Effectively I need to expand the width of the image at the top whilst keeping that at the bottom the same, with everything between being expanded in the right ratio. I am not worried if the images of the brickwork around the stone are distorted - I can remove them.
