I'm a coreldrawX4 user. I would like to print a composite image of my identification  badge on a T-shirt. How would I do this?, should I take it's picture with my cell phone-forward it to my e-mail address then import it into corel or have it scanned and forwarded to me. I don't have my own scanner so I was thinking Staples or Kinkos.
View 2 RepliesI’ve recently started making button badges (or at least trying to make them) on Photoshop CS3 Extended. I have downloaded a good template for a 1" button badge, complete with layers & guide lines. I have managed to figure out how to make my own designs and I’m slowly getting to grips with how layers work, so as you can tell, I’m a real novice!
What I would like to be able to do in import or insert a scanned image or photo onto the template so I can make badges with photos or images from the web (e.g. football team emblems etc.). Is it possible to do this? Also can you import/insert images & then re-size them to fit the template so the image will be the right size for the badge?
I am somewhat new to graphic design and have a coreldraw design that needs to go to print. The company's Pre-Press Mgr sent me this message:
the background is made up of a million separate layers that each contain a clipping mask and an image. The file size is huge due to the sheer number of these layers and may have trouble trapping and imaging. The bulk of these layers and images could all be combined in to one composite background image to reduce the file size, trapping issues and imaging issues. You do not want to include vector elements that you want to remain sharp, but for the soft background effects it should be one composite image.
Does this mean to take the layers that make up the background and "Group" them and/or convert to curves?
If I use 2 monitors to display 1 image with the image extending from one monitor into and across the second monitor, can I make a screen shot of the entire image without any break in the middle where it crosses from one monitor to the other? Will it be one continuous screenshot of the entire image, even though the image is displayed on 2 monitors?

Every time i try to create the contour it says offset too large. I've tried i set the offset to 0 but it still doesn't work. I want the dark green to fade out to light green.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to apply Burn to a flattened image, but without flattening. My image consists of several layers, and if I apply Burn to the image layer it doesn't work as well as when applied to the flattened image. But I don't want to flatten the image.
I have uploaded a test image here. It is a crop from a scanned Kodachrome using a Nikon Coolscan V ED which causes flare whenever highlights abut shadows. I can remove the flare fairly effectively on a flattened image with several Burn passes by using a brush size:75, Range: midtones, Exposure: 20%. But if I try it on the unflattened image layer, the results are not as good.
First, a slightly long winded explanation. Shooting the creative family Christmas card this year in a Mini-Cooper (original 60's one). Basically set my lighting up and then shot individual members in the car to post them together. The only snafu - my 20 month old son wasn't exactly cooperating, so the 'good' photograph I have of him is in the drivers seat, and I wanted to move him in between us.
There were a few difficulties here. First, the light changed between originally shooting my wife (windshield was clear), as skies were blue, and when I took the photo of myself nearly an hour later (cloudy skies cast a glare on the windshield. I had a black scrim set up to the side which worked, but wasn't able to knock it out all together. So i faded the clear windshield from my wife's side over to my side with the glare, but I feel that looks fairly natural (or at least good enough for the Christmas card).
The trick comes with my son - I cut him out from where he was at the drivers seat (had to do some shoddy work on his shirt where the steering wheel blocked him), and put him in between us. However, it looks like his coloring is off from what we are - and I can't quite seem to get it right. Color balance is definitely not my strong suit in PS.
I'm having a problem seeing a file in LR 4.2 when it is in the folder where I want it to be.

I created a composite tiff image from two raw files that reside in two different folders. I had exported the two raw files from LR as tiffs, opened the tiffs in Photoshop CS5, then combined them into a multi-layer tiff to create a 600+MB composite file. That composite was saved in Photoshop under a new file name using "Save As" . I knew the new composite file would not be in the LR catalog until I imported it.  When I imported, the image went into a new date-named folder (call it folder "A"). So far, it all made sense to me.

From this point on things got funny. Working within LR, I tried to move the uniquely named composite from folder A into the folder that one of the component files came from (call it folder "B"). The Move failed. Instead, I got an error message saying the file already existed in "B."  I could not see the file in "B" using lightroom, but MS Explorer revealed that the file was indeed there. I don't understand how it got there.

Still trying to get my composite in "B" recognized by LR, I first deleted the composite from "B" using explorer, then went into LR and moved the file from "A" (where LR recognized it), into "B".  Still no good. LR does not show the file in "B", yet it appears in explorer.

I suppose I could live with this composite file in its own folder, "A," but that is not really where I want it. More importantly, I don't understand why I can't see it in LR in the folder where i want it.

-Might the XMP files have anything to do with this?
-Is the size of the file (>600MB) a factor?

I am designing a T Shirt for my ski club.I have taken an image from a banner (made in illustrator, full colour image attached) and I want to devide into a 3 colour image for the t shirt (I am only allowed 3 colours for printing).The colours I want to use are black, white and purple. The colour of the t shirt is a light blue.I want to then put the purple logo on top of the white and black too.So I'm after a black and white grunge background with a punchy purple logo on the top.All of this should be on a tranparent or, for design purposes, light bue (same as T Shirt colour) background.

how to split a full colour image into using only 3 (4 including transparent/light blue background) exact colours.

If I were going to black and white I might convert to grey scale and then paint areas to fully white or fully black using an overlay brush I don't think this works for me for more than just black and white though.

I have attached two of my attempts where I used the colour range selection and level adjustments. Niether was really successful though (one does not use the right colours or number of colours but looks quite cool).
how to make a web signature that looks like a simple ID badge. I am trying to create a standard signature for use on the forums that support a faction within an online role playing game i am a member of. The basic image I have in my head is this. A white or maybe grayscale/silverish back ground layer, with the standard techy inlays. a spot in the top left corner for each individual members avatar. Then pushed off to the center-right side, their information, I.E Rank, name, email, member identification number. With a barcode font on the bottom. Finally with the faction logo well cropped and placed to be an underlying layer below the whole thing set at a very low opacity.

All I want to do is replace the "RSX" badge with one that says "DC5", but in the same exact lettering style as the RSX one, so I need a plain text design to take to a metal worker and put through a CAD machine or something. View 5 Replies View RelatedI am using Lightroom 4.1 on a vista computer. I am in the process of building a number of sub-collections within a main collection. About 400 pictures selected so far. I have set the view>options to view thumbnail badges in grid view. However, only one photo, which I have not done anything to, shows the badge for collections. I would expect that every photo I assigned to a collection would show the collections badge. When I deselect the thumbnail badge box, the badge disappears from the one photo that has it. When I turn it back on, only the one photo shows the badge.

How can I have all the photos assigned to a collection show the badge?
The Thumbnail Badge for Collections is not showing on most of my images which are in Collections. Even when i put a new image in a Collection. The Thumbnail Badges in the Library View Options is checked off. When I right click on an image which I know is in a Collection(s) and choose "Go to Collection" it will show mw the Collection(s) that image is in but the Thumbnail does not show. The other Badges do show. LR3 which I still have on my PC works fine.Â

A lot of our art are multiple layers, For example: if this smiley was made, the eyes and mouth are a separate, movable layer and the outer circle is another layer.

I wanted to print a poster of the same size in snapfish, and they accept only JPG files. So I exported the collage to JPG with the best Quality I got.
The poster was printed, but the quality is poor. How can I export it in order to get good results?
I printed the poster the same size in my HP Printer (5 years old) with lot of A4 pages and the resolution of each page was much higher.
Printing the poster is expensive, that is why I really would like to reach the same quality with a JPG file.
