how to make a simple tshirt design and want to work along with video but I have everything except the advanced tools option at the top tool bar I have just loaded X6 am I missing this or is this something that doesn't come with?
View 4 RepliesI cannot access the options button on the tools menu. It pops up error message that says Required resource unavailable. Then the program locks up and I have to restart the computer.

I have loaded cdr graphics suite 12 on my new laptop w/windows 7, and also on my old machine that I have loaded windows 7 on. Cannot register the program any more due to outdated version. problem exists on both computers.
There are other minor issues but this one I use regularly.
Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. It is very frustrating and I'd like to know why they sometimes don't work.
Example:
I have a rectangle with a smaller rectangle over it, I want to punch a hole in the bottom rectangle with the top one. I select both, click on "Trim" and it doesn't knock it out. If you look at it in wireframe, you can see the shape I wanted to punch out, but that bottom rectangle is still solid. "Back minus Front" doesn't work either.
I use a rectangle as the example, but things I'm trying to punch out are text converted to curves, imported logos, etc.
Sometimes, very few, the Trim works. Is there a certain reason why it doesn't work most of the time? Something to do with the curve of the shape(s) that I'm trying to punch out?
I have lost MACROS on Tool Bar in X4.
Is there a way of getting it back?
I'm a long time Corel user trying out Coreldraw suite 6. I'm having a problem making some shape tools work on text (they work fine on other objects). If, for example, I write a piece of text and then select it, followed by the smear shape tool, most of the time the text is deselected and the tool does nothing. However, the Shape, Smudge and Roughen brushes work OK. I've tried using different fonts and text attribute to no avail. I've tried L&R clicking, holding the button down and double (and multiple) clicking slowly and quickly. But no deal. It's not a mouse or pad problem, it's the same on both.
BUT...guess what, every now and then it decides to work! Sometimes it will work on a piece of text and later won't work on it again.
I joined to seek out a solution to why my tools under Image or Effects don't bring up a tool dialog, ergo no adjustments can be made with these tools.
My configuration:
Corel Draw Suite 11 Build 11.633
O/S: Windows 7
Other S/W installed: Adobe Photoshop Elements 9
I have about 8 squiggles that are quite wide. I use the transparency tool in radial or conical mode... the center position matters, but it seems like essentially the same transparent effect stays regardless of the distance of the radius laid down by the tool. the little slider bar seems to do something, but I'm trying to get the transparency to go out more... but the radius doesn't change the transparency effect.
This seems like a bug. Why wouldn't the distance from the center to the edge matter?... the distance matters when it's working in linear transparency mode.
How or were to find the crop mark / registration mark tools in x6.
View 5 Replies View RelatedX5 Recently have begun missing parts of print out. Tried to duplicate but appears completely random.
Output to both Full colour laser and Wide Format printers will miss either text or part of objects. Today printed the text but not the text effects. Initially closed and reopened, rebooted, However this has become a now daily feature so regardless tried reprint from the same screen so next print has everything included.
Very costly and time consuming - print preview shows all correct but output is not the same.
Running Win 7 64bit 8GB Ram
im using coreldraw x5 since last year but recently when ive tried to open uniform fill tool (***+f11) the separate window isnt showing up. is as if it is invisible because i would have to press esc to continue back to my work. the only pop up window that does work is fountain fill (f11) the rest such as option (ctrl+j) doesnt pop up

Now, the Attributes Eye-Dropper tool becomes useless. Seems as though something went quite wrong in the programming office.
A .cmx file produced by CorelDRAW x5 can be opened / imported / edited in any previous version of CorelDRAW? Why size changes? When I export to .cmx size doubles. If I use the option "Save as ... cmx" the file size decreases. What´s the difference? URL.....

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhat to try on my computer to counter the frequent and destructive X5 shut downs that are happening. I've read about this problem in other threads, so I know it's not just me or my system.X5 shuts down many, many times every day. I don't think I've been able to work for 15 minutes straight yet without it crashing.
I am running a fast dual-core Intel, XP Pro SP3, 2 GB RAM, ATI Sapphire/Radeon 1GB card, oodles of hard drive space. I can run the hottest, most demanding games no problem. I run hundreds of other apps with no problem. I had no similar problem with X4 on this machine. I have no similar problem with other Corel apps, either.
X5 crashes still happen after I close down as many memory-resident apps as I can. I can't strip it down much further.I usually have a few (3-4) dockers open, one or two palettes, and my files include several bitmaps which may include transparencies or colour masks. I have about 650 fonts installed.
X5 shuts down on me many times during every work session. Sometimes when I am changing fonts, sometimes when editing bitmaps, sometimes when importing bitmaps, sometimes when applying a transparency. Bang - just shuts down. I can have Corelpaint open editing a bitmap and CD closes underneath it. I can open window to import a file and CD closes as I search the thumbnails. It closes when I click the change page tab.
Doesn't seem to be any specific act or function that closes it - it just shuts down. Gone. No warning. I lose everything since the previous save. Half the time the working file is corrupted, too, so I can't even restore it. I have to keep numerous versions on disk and use save-as with every save to keep just one alive.
I notice that the option to set memory usage has gone from the global options menu. Maybe it's bad memory management and we need that option back? I'd be happy to assign a higher percentage of RAM to X5.
Using CorelDraw X6.1
Having issues with exporting files to an .eps format - using "selected only" some of the objects that I have selected do not get exported - ie. they are missing from the .eps file altogether.
On top of that, most of my colours get washed out to a grey scale - I do work in spot colours.
I have tried f8, and tried reinstalling.
my Docker Titles are gone.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've designed a simple graphic in X6 and printed directly to Roland ecosol printer. My black text doesn't show up on the print. I've spent a few hours and a lot of paper trying to figure this out.
The black text that isn't showing up is designed to be on top of a yellow box. When I print as intended, the text doesn't show. However, when I move the text off the box, it is printed and visible. Is it a document setup, color management, or print settings issue? Or none of the above?
I paid a lot of money for this software which was supposed to come with a library of clipart, photos, etc. I have exactly ZERO and I cannot get any support on why that is.
How do I get the clipart I paid for?
I'm running CD X5 on a windows 7 machine. I had a custom "my Toolbar" set up wit all my most used tools and now suddenly it's gone! It is turned on in the menu (checked). I have unchecked it and rechecked it to no avail. I have re-booted my machine and still nothing. why it's gone but I can't seem to get it back.

I select all objects and save the design then print, and sometimes only the text prints! the image/photo does not print.
well that is kind of annoying to have a 12x36 panorama canvas with only the text and not the picture, since the canvas is ruined and costs about $12 a print.
When you open the welcome screen and you choose "New from Template" the welcome screen in the background is missing the left side of the welcome screen.
And when you close the "new from template" window, it stays missing and you cannot choose any of your recent "open documents".
P.S. I have already tried the infamous "F4"
My computer with CORELDRAWX5 got damaged, and I purchased a new one and upgraded to X6.
My problem is that when opening my previous files on my new computer, I have alot of MISSING FONTS, that I use regularly and do not currently have. How do I retrieve these fonts?
I just upgraded to X5 (from X3). Many of the fonts that I have in my used are missing. I went through the Bit Stream Font Navigator and cannot located them there either. Many of my existing customer files require those fonts for use in their logos...etc. I also went to myfonts as indicated and did not see them there.

On one layout, some items on a printable layer do not appear on the Print Preview. The page contains a monochrome bitmap, some text and a curve. Only the bitmap appears on the print preview, yet everything prints.
It doesn't happen with every job. Not a big deal on this job, but there will soon come a time when I need to know what will and will not print.
I have Corel DRAW Home & Student Suite X5. It appears not to include the Docker "Object Coordinates" although both the video and Help files include prescriptions for using it.Corel Support insist that this docker is present in this edition of X5 and instruct me to reset the application defaults (F8).F8 does not reveal the missing docker, nor does a complete uninstall/reinstall. It seems to me that "Object Coordinates actually is NOT there.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using MS Windows System 7 and printing onto two networked printers, a Lexmark Pro205 and a HPD7460, It seems that when I have finished setting up a page of texts and inserts for a publication the page looks good on the screen and on the PRINT PREVIEW window of either PRINTER software but some of it does not print. The left side of the two column page prints OK but the right side is blank after the first line. The text that flows from page to page to page seems to be alright and the inserts that are not part of the flow text that has been inserted as wrap around text (surround) prints.The is simple missing. The next page of the same article is doing the same thing.
I originally had this problem in another document on the HP but not the Lexmark. Now I have it on both printers in this document.
I was wondering if there are control characters that the printers are acting upon during the print function. Can one see all the control functions on a page before printing or at will?
