CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 :: Specific Size Text And Kerning
Dec 14, 2012i need to type a text in corel of a specific size in millimeters. i know there is a setting in the corel options that allows sizing text directly in millimeters, instead of points. problem is that i need to type in romanian language, which has these points and marks above or bellow certain characters like A, T or S and the size in millimeters that i enter in the text size box will give that size to the "marked" characters, whereas i need only the pure, normal letter to be given that size. for example, an S with a comma under it.. i want just the S to be given a certain size and the comma scaled proportionally. furthermore, i would like to add an even spacing between all the letters that i type, also expressed in millimeters. i could only find a percent expressed setting in the text properties panel, i dont even know percents of what.
how can i do this in the fastest way possible, or automatically?

Jan 6, 2012I have a circle which is blended.
In the circle is some text, rounded - not circle text, it is placed on top rather than typed in the circle directly.
I need to edit the text and it won't let me select it! No matter how far I zoom in to make sure I'm clicking the text, the circle gets selected and the blend tool opens.
They are not grouped or anything. This has happened before many times and with much persistance I get there eventually - but is there a much faster way?

Dec 10, 2010I can't seem to select more than one text object at a time.....
I will select a paragraph or artistic text object, press and hold shift, and then continue selecting text objects. Nothing happens.... well, it seems to be 'thinking' but nothing ever happens until I release the shift key and then only the last object selected gets highlited.

May 26, 2011When i use margue select i get the blue dotted line but it disapears when i let go of the mouse and nothing is selected, this happens no mater what i'm trying to select. Do i not understanding how it works?
Second dumb question.
I have hit or miss luck with the weld feature some times it works and other times it simply will not work. I'm trying to make a small metal sign and need solid numbers (not Stencil) I draw a rectangle and add text above it and move it down to the top of the rectangle and select both and hit weld, some times it works and some times it doesn't. I have also tried to weld text to a 2 point line and cant do that at all, I suspect the 2 poing line is considered a demensional line so that may be my problem there. I have spent the greater part of a day trying to figue out thes two problems I have watched Graphics unleshed and read all i can find and still haven't figured out if it is me or the program. I have the problem with any of the fonts that come with X5.

Nov 6, 2012When I select the text tool and click in the layout area, I type "i" and upon clicking off it auto changes to a capital "I". It's never done this before. If I do i space i space i space, it keeps changing, it won't allow me to have lower case letters.

I have attached a free macro to change the text color of cells in a table. Without the macro there is currently no way to select more than one cell and change the text color.
The macro allows the user to either:
click on a table (to select it) and then apply a new color to ALL text in the table; or choose a new color from the macro from, select some cells in a table and then apply that color to the text in those selected cells
Please note in step 2 it is important you choose the new color first and then select the table cells. If you do it the opposite way around, while choosing a colour you will deselect the selected cells and apply color to all of the text in the table.

I was going to Text > Encode and check whether the word can be shown or not. In fact, in Encode Dialogue I can see the character well, but when I click "OK" and I can't see it. Mar 20, 2013I have been using Corel for over 20 years, and have never needed support. I do most of my work editing nodes within a drawing for creating continuous line patterns that are repeatable.
For years I have simple "nudged" the first and last point of a complex curve to the appropriate position. Now I want to simplify that by entering in the coordinates for the node.
I have tried Object Coordinates, but it appears to do nothing after I change the node location, or radically change my design. There is no documentation for it. I have searched Customize for some sort of input field to add to the toolbar with no luck.
I always have to add the information on the coordinates of the selected note to the Status Bar, so I am surprised that I can't find an option for editing the position.

Aug 24, 2011In 2006 I started a vector-based comic using CorelDraw, made for posting on the web in RGB. Over the years I've made the transition to a more CMYK-friendly palette that works on the web, though a handful of heritage characters still have the old RGB profiles. I'm looking to do a book collection now and, as such, want to convert these characters' specific colors to their fitting CMYK counterparts.
Is there a batch process that allows me to convert a specific handful (maybe 2 dozen) colors RGB --> CMYK across a number of files? I'm looking at hundreds of pages of artwork here, so even Corel's Object Find/Replace would be a tedious slough.

Jul 11, 2011I have a radius that is spread between 10 and 40 degrees that I need to evenly space 6 line segments throughout.
What this is for is a property with 5 lots along a curved street. Each lot is the same size and I am trying to draw just the sections that are affected. I have tried using the star feature and reducing it to single lines, but they do not space evenly and getting the line number is very difficult. I have tried dividing the angle range and come up with the correct angle and spacing but this is also an issue. Is there any way to do this without dragging each line separately?

I can hover and get the object name, and then select but when I go to move the object PPT selects and moves an entirely different object. I have held down Ctrl, Alt etc. to no avail. Bigger objects are easier since there is more to grab on to but smaller objects are a pain.

Jan 6, 2013When I select a PowerClip, I understand that a mini button bar should appear somewhere, which would allow me to do a number of things with the said clip. I don't see any floating 4-button mini bar?
I was able to re-size the content by going to the top menu ... but this mini- 4-button bar that apparently should appear whenever I hover over a PowerClip object is doesn't show up anywhere.

Aug 2, 2011I'm using corel draw X5, I can't move object if I select "Traditional CorelDRAW" option for ctrl/shift keys, under Pick Tool menu in options window.
If I choose "Windows Standard", I'll be able to move the objects. But I don't like this behavior, because the way it draws new objects, anchoring them in center, instead of upper left corner.
This bug started just after I change this option, "just for curiosity". I wish I never discovered it. How can I solve it? I want to set ctrl / shift behavior to "Traditional CorelDraw" AND be able to move objects.

Sep 2, 2013I'm having a major issue here, I use custom colors (created in my custom palette), X^ used to hold it very nicely, even in PDF exports etc.
Now - with the latest update, X6 "forgets" the custom colors, it resets it to default color, I have to manually set every object to the custom color all over again.
