AutoDesk Smoke :: How To Adjust Timing Of Keyframes In Gmask
Nov 11, 2013I'll be tweeking my gmask on frame 1. (Autokey is not select) then I move my gmask to frame 19, make an adjustment, and keframe from 1 to 19 is set. I just want to change the whole gmask? how to adjust the mask points globally? (something like the uber key in mocha) that way I can scrub thru my timeline, adjust my mask, and it changes the shape for the entire time, but does not add a keyframe?
also, I have my mask moving in. and points keyframes. I find that I need to move the animtion back 2 frames, how do you adjust the timing of keyframes in gmask?

Aug 22, 2012I run Smoke 2012 Adv Ext1 SP1. The hardware is old, like 5years now.
The way I remember it our GFX card is not powerful enough to feed a broadcast monitor all the time, the output only comes up there when I'm in player.
But, unless my memory's even worse than I thought, I used to get a full screen output from the viewport that was selected (with the blue 'Monitor' display) in Action and Batch.
I can't seem to get this working again. I suppose it's in preferences, but the multiview section is greyed out.

the "Include YUV Headroom" option during Import and Export of Quicktime files, but it's the Broadcast Monitor option.

Jun 22, 2012Is it possible to lock the CFX output to the broadcast monitor so that I can see the changes I make on the image in the broadcast monitor while working in the 1-up view? This way the CFX schematic can fill my 23 inch computer screen. So far i have only been able to do that with the 2-up, etc views. As soon as I switch to the 1-up view or swipe to the left while in 2-up view (which switches it back to the 1-up) the broadcast monitor shows whatever I am working on be it schematic or other.
When I am in the 2-up view and I lock the right part of the 2 up view to the broadcast monitor I usually maximize the left view to fill the screen. It however does not fully fill the screen and keeps the right view scaled to a very small size on the right.

Nov 8, 2013The GUI and broadcast monitors in all 3 of our Smokes (Mac) are out of sync by 2 frames.
I know there is a Audio offset, but that will always throw one of the monitors out.
Is there a playback delay or offset that can be used to sync bother the UI monitor and the Broadcast Monitor?
Currently having to use the shortcut Shift+B+F13 to switch between Sync to Hi-Res and Sync to Broadcast depending on the situation.

Jun 12, 2012I just installed Smoke2013 without a problem! But I accidentally put the media storage in the main OS drive!! I want to use my Raid 0 drive. I unistalled it and delete all the autodesk folders and installed again but the setup program did't ask to use the other drive like the first installation!! It just used the main OS drive as before!!! How can I change the Media drive to another drive? Why when I unistalled Smoke and then re installed It didn't ask to select the media drive?

Sep 9, 2012I am "pre-finishing" my work inProRes. Maybe because I have a slow internal HDD and too many timeline effects that need rendering.I am happy with the effects timing, the edit and the overall project.The next thing that seems obvious to me is to "switch" to "DPX uncompressed" (assuming I now have a fast Thunderbolt storage).
To achieve this I switched my project (with the pre-rendered ProRes timeline) to Uncompressed in the "Project settings".When done, the timeline was still rendered. It should have become "unrendered".To flush the existing render, I pressed "Force Render".
If I hover over the timeline thumbnail using the "?" key, I receive 1920x1080 8-bit.This is the case for both DPX and ProRes settings.If the timeline is rendered in ProRes, it should say so in the clip information.

Sep 6, 2012I tried working on PNG image sequences instead of video footages.the problem is Smoke recognizes the fps as 59.94, and i want to make it down to 25fps.i tried using PAL.cfg, the frame rate did change to 25fps but when the sequences are imported in the timeline, its still 59.94fps.

Framerates: When I import a DPX, ProRes etc. sequence I can change the different parameters through “resize” which works really great, but I can’t change the framerate. Often I just want to playback a DPX sequence @ 25 frames/sec. instead of 24. Is this possible without using “TmeWarp”?

Jun 12, 2012When setting up a new project, I'm unable to change the bit depth for the project. It's set to 8-bit and ghosted. The graphics render button has a selector but when clicked it doesn't bring up the drop down.
My guess is that it has something to do with my hardware configuration (read: I need to upgrade my GPU) .

Jul 23, 2012I am really liking the change in grey level to indicate focus as I click on timeline or desktop or mediahub. I think this needs to be a larger change - maybe 20% of the intensity and would work better as a means of showing source/record focus than the annoying white outline. I also like the desaturate I suggested on the inactive timeline bar 0 its a very simple way of quickly seeing what is live (other than glancing at the broadcast monitor).
All's well that ends. That's why its called finishing.

See attached. It now take 4 pen actions to get the safe titles overlay on and off. And before it was one pen movement. So before it was aptly named quick off. Now you should rename it. Slow off. Or "waste of time" something that matches function.
I vote for reinstating the quick off operation from 2012. And I checked, there is no quick off in the hotkey editor, so I can't streamline the usage with a user key.
