sometimes the 'last' entity is whatever the last one in the current view is (the entities you can see on the screen), but sometimes the 'last' item is the very last item created, whether you can see it in the view or not. what is the command to use to switch between these two options?
View 5 RepliesThe options window will not display when typing "options" in the command line or selecting from the drop down. The options menu has to be hidden somewhere because AutoCad will not allow any other commands after typing options until I hit escape. I have tried restarting CAD and rebooting my computer with not luck.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI would like to be able to extrude an object then do a subtract or something similer, then somehow put the subtract on a layer so if i hide said layer the extrueded object will be showen as if it never had the subtract applyed. But if the layer is show agean then the extrued will have a hole in it agean.
P.s. for an example of one thing this could be used for, modeling wrenches with difrent shaped grips but the same handle. Without just making multiple copys of the handle.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to SWEEP the yellow rectangle in this drawing along the magenta 3DPOLYLINE. This is a stair stringer for a winding stair I'm trying to model. The trouble is that when I SWEEP it the rectangle begins to rotate and ends up all out of whack once it gets to the top.
As I understand it, this is something that AutoCAD does not handle well and something like 3DsMax does. Problem is I don't have 3Ds Max and if I recall correctly there is a way to do this within AutoCAD. I just don't understand the SWEEP command options well enough. I've tried setting Align to No and Twist to the 270° that this thing runs, but each time I end up with the stringer rotated out of place.
I am looking for a way to set a couple options in the Manual Tune window from the Performance Tuning window (3DCONIG Prompt). More specifically I want to be able to:
Check what the setting for Enable hardware acceleration is (so it can be restored back)Set Enable hardware acceleration offReduce the number of tessellations to cacheReduce both the Surfaces, and Curves tessellation How would I do this from command line? View 1 Replies View RelatedI am currently writing a series of routines for setting the layers for text, leaders and dimension commands. The end goal is a system where any annotation command sets the correct layer for the duration of the command, then reverts back to the layer that was active before the command.
I have managed to complete all the code, and it appears to be working fine, I just have one question: I have used -layer "m" "Lay_name" etc... for all layer setting commands, rather than any code to see if the layer exists already. In my limited testing this seems to be suitable, nothing that exists on that layer seems to be affected.
I know how to write code to determine if the layer exists already and set the layer instead, but so far it seems unnecessary??
After installing the VBA Module, I get the message "Unknown command "VBARUN"". I've rebooted, restarted and tried reinstalling the VBA Module to no avail.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI press CTRL+9 to make the Command Line disappear while drawing. When I plot (or when doing a plot preview) , the Command Line appears again by itself. So I always have to turn the Command Line off manually after each plot
The bug still happens;
- if Dynamic Input is turned off or on
- if I plot to a real device or in PDF
- if the Cammand Line Palette i docked or floating.
This is not an issue in AutoCAD 2012 so I guess it has to do with the new way they programmed the revamped Command Line palette in 2013.

I need to save a drawing file and give it the name of my desire using a single command, I don't want to issue "saveas" and then specify the name in the file name prompt. This problem is has been faced when I was using ScriptPro and I couldn't succeeded to do that. Hence I need to know if it is feasible to do the stuff using a single command. It will be preferred if I can choose the location to save the file also rather than save the file to the default location.

if you care to not click-through, the problem is that certain commands (not all of them) simply do not disply in the command line. so the MOVE command for example looks like this:

same with QSAVE and who knows how many others.
line command is a multiple command. there is a way to execute it like a single command?

View 9 Replies View RelatedWe just upgraded to ACA 2013. I am trying to get a handle on our office standards. Part of doing that is to try and use as much out of the box as possible and keeping with the AIA layer standards.
I have always used CTB for plotting. I am just now trying to learn about STB for the first time.
In the past, I would change things like a wall styles layer key style and display properties to conform to my CTB in order for it to plot the correct line weights.
I want to be able to leave everything alone as much as possible and use STB. I want to use the AIA layers that ALL objects come in on as they are so that our office can use 100% of the out of the box objects and me not have to worry about changing each style to print properly.
So I am going to make office standard wall, door, window, etc. styles which will mostly be out of the box styles. I also want people to be able to use the detail components. Some editing will take place but only in design, not layer key styles or display. I guess basically what I'm asking is this, is it possible to get things to plot the way I want without having to change anything about them, using a STB plot style and leaving all objects alone to exist on there AIA layers?
One of our new users says they learned a way to switch from a 2D model to 3D via a toolbar located at the bottom the the ACAD dashboard.

A while back, I sent some dxf files (all made in AC Lt 2010) to a company that uses a system called DP/Com. Apparently, this program reads coordinates (Y,X) instead of (X,Y), which means that they think all of my files are really wierd . Each and every number in the coordinates of my points are correct, so it's just the order I want to change.
Is there any way to "switch" the coordinates of several points at once in AC? (Without having to extract a coordinate list, switch columns in Excel and then importing them back...?)
Why does the current UCS change whenever I switch between views? (front,back,top,etc.)

I just purchased the new ACAD2014. It works fine but every time that I launch the program the opening screen shows a grid and I have to turn it off. Is it possible to start up without the grid.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI dont know if this an Autocad Lt 2012 or windows 7 function, but a lot of times when I'm typing in Autocad (using Dtext), the caps lock seems to switch itself on and off, which of course is extremely annoying.
How do I set Autocad or Windows 7 not to do this.
We are having the issue with all of our Windows 7 machines that you cant switch back to Autocad using the Windows 7 taskbar. When this happened with 2010 we chalked it up to 2010 not being compliant with the new taskbar in windows. But when it started happening with our Acad 2011 installs it gets frustrating. Alt Tab doesn't work. Hover and select a preview window doesn't work. The only thing that works is starting task manager and clicking 'Switch to'.
