I recently upgraded to windows 7 and AutoCAD 2012, when I hit save as the cursor or highlighted field is in the directory area not the file name. When I'm detailing I use save as a lot and this little quirk causes me about three extra steps, and kills my rhythm. Our XP machines defaulted to the file name area so you could simply type in a new name hit enter, and go on down the road.

using ACAD LT 2012. If he opens a DWG file from a Sharepoint site, makes some changes to the drawing and then SAVES the file, his changes are NOT saved and there is no indication that they were not saved. Needless to say this is critical.

I have a VBA macro that is using at some point a full path in order to get data from an Excel file. I am changing the data from the original file to the file that is localized in the full address. Now I want to use a Browse button and generate the Save As Window to capture the data directly from source file.
Is there a piece of code that open the Save As window that I need and return the full path so I can use it in my original code? I am sending a word document with a picture that shows the window that I want to call
I try to hit Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S to save for web and devices, and nothing comes up. So I click the file menu and I see the option is grayed out. I thought resetting itwould help, but it keeps happening, then somebody told me it was the size of the picture, but that can't be it, because I couldn't save a picture 5"x5", and that isn't too big. It consistently crashes on the same file, but it doesn't seem that every file is affected. I'm running cs6 on windows 7. Intermittently save for web and other function (usually related to saving) crash. I'm running a brand new Win7 64bit box with latest version of CC - Photoshop CC 14. It's crash list thing since I first got Photoshop - so it's not something new, it's been doing this since I have installed the software. I have no 3rd party plugins installed and Photoshop doesn't give me a crash report when it does crash.

I just recently upgraded from WinXP64 to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 and everything is good… aside from the fact that everytime I save the files, it is realy slow
I never had this issue before (although when I think about it, I used to work on another Win7 station a few months ago and I had the same issue)
I think the reason is OS related as everytime I click on save, it “re-creates” the file from scratch… This is not much of a problem on small files… but I have scenes that are over 500MB each and it takes forever to save everytime (not that the scene unreliability is not enough!!!)
Get message: "Could not complete your request because of a program error" I know PE 2 is ancient but have been using it for years and feel most comfortable in it.
All of a sudden, I'm getting this message (more than once). Using regular old jpg files from same camera. why it won't save the photos.
Whenever I press CMD+S (which is supposedly a shortcut for a quick save on Mac) the Save As window always appear. I looked at the File menu and there's nothing wrong with the shortcut key. I also tried pressing CMD+SHIFT+S (which is the real Save As shortcut) and it works fine.

View 6 Replies View RelatedThe smaller windows that come up such as those for adjusting the levels, brightness/contrast, etc. moved little by little each time I used them, but I never paid attention until my Levels window moved so far up when it opens to its default location that I can't get to the top of it to move it anywhere. This has happened to a couple other windows for me, and I can't figure out how to fix it! I tried resetting the workspace, changing resolutions back and forth, restarting.

On Photoshop CS3 we had this option (PS's had more options, but Window's gives a better view).
For the same reason I would like that on AutoCad : AutoCad's dialog is misorganized and carries a bad side menu. I really prefer explorer's .
I know there is an option on AutoCad to use Thumbnails instead of list, for example, but it won't apply to evey folder.
And the side links (see the picture) poins to useless places, and I cannot add my shortcuts, oppose to windows', where I can.
After Lion to Mountain Lion upgrade.
Cannot save or save as to Windows server. Due to "program error." Adobe Photoshop CS5. Can save as fine to local drive. Can also drag and drop in the Finder to this server.
This is Photoshop CS5 12.0.4 (current). Once the error "could not save file name due to a program error" occurs, the file disappears from the Windows server.
I think it has something to due with the SMB connection. All other CS5 apps (InDesign, Illustrator, etc.) "save" and "save as" fine. It is also fine performing the same procedure using Preview.
I have an interesting issue. I had CS4 installed on my old computer running 32 bit Windows XP. I built a new computer running Windows 7 - 64 bit, and installed CS4 on it. I took my hard drives containing my photos out of the old system and plugged them into the new computer. In photoshop, I can open and edit the photos, but it will not allow me to save them - it tells me that another app has the file open. I can save the photo under a new name.
This leads me to belive that there is some data saved with the file that does not match up on the new computer.
I have two PC's side-by-side, running the same version of CS6. On one PC, I can see my Libraries from the "save as" and "open" dialogue boxes and on the other I have can't have have to dig down to find the folders I want to save to. I don't have any plug-ins installed, and I have not edited the registry.

I work on multiple projects across a complex network and I have to manually navigate through all the folders each time, and I can't copy & paste a location like I could if I was browsing through Windows normally. View 9 Replies View RelatedThis just started happening after I downloaded DWG TruViewer. I am working on LT 2008 using Fusionware on a MacPro. I needed the viewer to convert newer drawings from an architect. Now, when I double click on a drawing in Explorer a separate AutoCad window opens for each drawing I need open. I prefer to just go up to Window>and click on the one I need at that time, especially if I have several to switch between because it is easier to see the file name I want.

I can't open files using File>Open because the program crashed each time and Autodesk is not issuing anymore fixes for 2008. (Yes, we should upgrade but there is no money budgeted)
Right-click on any .dwg file and go to Properties>General>Change> and select the AutoCad LT launcher as the preferred program
Since I am in Window 7 instead of XP the File Types tab has been removed from Folder Options so I can't fix it that way.
So, why did this change? FYI that stupid TruViewer made lots of unnecessay changes to my AutoCad and Explorer programs that I am still trying to sort out like changing the file icon and hiding the file extensions. Are they trying to make it hard to find files or what?
And next, how can I reset the default so that double clicking on a .dwg in Explorer opens in already open AutoCad window?
I have worked in Sony Vegas 9 and I was hoping Adobe Premier Pro CC was similar--- but its not. I can't figure out how to render and save a file as a windows media or mp3 or in any format for that matter.

I am having a catastrophic error in Inventor 2013.
When I attempt to save a drawing I have completed, I cannot save!
Can't save, save as or any other variation of save.
This is my issue every time I click save.
Today, while working on my art, upon saving suddenly some sort of PS component showed a dialog that said the component failed (I didn't catch the name, thinking it was just temporary and would be fine after a re-start.) But now, no matter if I choose Save or Save As for any document (new or old), the usual Save or Save As dialog flashes on for a fraction of a second, then disappears.... and from that point the app freezes (beeping at attempts to get into the menus) and I can only get out with a Ctrl-Alt-Delete.
I tried to freshly reinstall CS3 Photoshop from my package DVD, but after starting the Set-up it also just disappears/stops and disappears. So I have no way to uninstall or install! These is very weird!! What is going wrong, and how can it be fixed?
Why can't Windows Explorer show thumbnail previews of DNG's on my Windows 8.1 64bit Pc. I assume is has something to do with not having the DNG codec. However, on Adobe's website it says their DNG codec only works on Windows 7.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have the student version of AutoCAD 2012 on an HP laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium OS. I originally installed AutoCAD in June of 2012. It worked fine for 9 or 10 months but now whenever I select File/Open, File/Save, or File/Save As, AutoCAD stops responding and the spinning blue donut appears. AutoCAD never comes back and I have to close it from Task Manager. I uninstalled AutoCAD and reinstalled it, and the process went smoothly. However I still have exactly the same problem with the File operations. I apply Windows updates, but other than that have not made any changes to the software on the laptop. AutoCAD works fine for everything except the File operations. I am able to save with CTL/S and am able to open AutoCAD files from File Manager.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI used to be able to open a drawing then close it right away, if it was not the drawing I was looking for, as long as I didn't pan, zoom, or do anything else. Almost a year ago I had a pop-up with-in AutoCAD that they reccommend I make this selection. I can't remember what it said really, it was something about a script or lisp loading at each drawing opening. Well, the result is the 'Drawing 1' does not disappear when I open another drawing and I would like that to stop. Also as I said it does it to every drawing. how to stop this? I tried the 'startup' command and that is not it. It is not a big thing just something I think is a waste of my time having to close that drawing each time I open AutoCAD. Not sure it matters but I am using AutoCAD 2012
