I have too many paper sizes in PageSetup. This makes choosing the proper page size too lengthy and time consuming.
I only use two paper sizes namely A4 and A3 so I don't need to have English paper size like 11x14 in, Hagaki, Index Card and 30 other pagesetup.
How can I delete or get rid of unnecessary paper sizes?

I have created an item made up of lines, circles and arcs. One side line distance will control all other sides, circles and arcs. I applied geometric constraints and then Dimensional constraints. D1 is the distance that will control all other objects. I have it working so that when I change D1, the sides adjust accordingly and the arcs and circles keep their geometry.
I was wondering if there is a way to add a range of distances for D1 so that if someone goes below the minimum value, nothing happens and if you go above the maximum value, nothing happens? I know if you make a block, you can make a list of distances for D1 to move. Is there a way to do this in the design drawing? Although, I don't just want a set range, I would like any distance between, say, 8 - 12 inches.
I tried to set some parameters in the Parameters Manager with no luck. Maybe there is an expression to use? Where would you find this expression if there is one?
what the file size limit is for importing point clouds into Inventor? Or is that a how long is a piece of string question that depends on computer ability?

I have tried numerous times to make my paper size and actual plot size the same. My paper size is 24 x 36 but for some reason it rotates the paper and the output is 36 x 36, every time! When I look at it on the preview, it looks correct but then the paper comes out with a foot of paper at the top of the drawing. I've created new page sizes, etc.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've been a long-time VideoStudio user and recently installed the trial of X5 (my last purchased version was X2, but, it's time for an upgrade ). VS X5 is installed on a Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit PC. If I capture to an internal NTFS drive, the tapes capture as a single ~19 GB AVI file; however, if I capture to my Linux NAS server with ReiserFS file system, VS breaks the captured files into 4GB chunks and I end up with five files per tape. There is no 4GB file limit on ResierFS. I have copied several 25+ GB blue-ray files to the NAS with no problem. ReiserFS has an 8TB file size limit. Captured through another video editing program, I do not have this problem. It appears that VS X5 assumes a 4GB limit on network devices (or, at least, on my Linux - ReiserFS NAS).

I got two error messages:
"The miminum size be reducing the bit rates still cannot fit once disc."
"Convert step got some problems."
What are the minimum requirements for fitting a video file to a DVD?
I have a relatively flat shape with many curves on the edges. I am trying to intersect a plane with all the curved edges and do a Boolean intersection. It worked with a less complex shape but this one has over 19000 objects. Any size limit on Boolean operations?

Any other filter or tool that I need works just fine on these size files. Neither tweaking CS3 preferences (as has been discussed rather thoroughly on this forum) nor toggling the 3 GB switch under XP (my PC has 4 GB ram and >200 GB scratch) helped. Given optimal settings, what are the upper dimensions that I might reasonably expect to photomerge, either under XP or Vista 64? If its not unheard of to photomerge and auto align huge files, Id upgrade my system. Otherwise, Ill plan the upgrade and wait for CS4.

I have two tiff files:
Tiff 1: 283MB, full resolution ( 2336 x 3504 )
Tiff 2: 233MB, full resolution ( 2336 x 3504 )
Export witht: 574 x 1000 image width
JPG 1: 168kb
JPG 2: 194kb
Both jpegs have 600px x 887px (fram with mogrify plugin#) and 100%jpg quality.
Whe I set a limit to file size of 154kb, I receive following:
JPG 1: 102kb
JPG 2: with error ( couldn't create jpg which fit's the file size limit of 154kb )
If I export the second tiff manually with 90% jpg quality and no filesize, I get:
JPG 1: 114kb
JPG 2: 135kb
So it seems that the "limit file size" isn't really working.Also it seems that Valus between 92 and 100 ends in: same as 100.
I have been designing for a lot of mobile sites these days, in particular: iphone retina display (640w). Most of the time these designs can be long in the tooth with the height of these documents - exceeding 8000 pixels at times. I noticed that 8000 pixels is the threshold limit for the "save for web" export. Anything greater than 8000 pixels will be downgraded in quality on retina devices by scaling the image. The jpg will still be the correct height and width, but when viewed on an iphone, you can easily see the degradation. Images and text are blurry.This is no bueno when trying to show a client what their site will look like on an iphone.
A preference to be changed? Am I missing something to get the full quality of my design comp in order to preserve retina display quality?
I take a large number of event images and the usual client request for images being sent to the press is image size rather than resolution, dimensions or other requirements.
Clearly in LR3 if the client has requested 3MB jpg the easy option is to after processing take my Canon 5d mkii RAW file and just hit export to max 3MB jpg.
My question is is it better - ie image quality better - to export by resizing longest edge to approx 3000 px and exporting to jpg which results in a similar file size, though different pixel dimensions? Or are they effectively the same?
I have a 180GB SSD, which I specifically bought, to make Lightroom (4.4) faster and to store 1:1 previews. Initially, I set up Lightroom catalog (containing 18221 images) to never delete 1:1 previews and stored the previews in a high quality mode. This quickly fill up my SSD. I would like to set it up to store as many previews as it can while leaving atleast, say 20GB, free on SSD. The alternative, which is to discard 1:1 previews after 30 days or so, is not really acceptable to me.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying out X4, and I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but it seems like the canvas size on X4 at any resolution is much smaller than in X3, e.g., at 200 pixels/inch, X4 allows 50"x50", while X3 allows 164x164". Similarly at 150 pixels/inch, X3 allows 218", while X4 allows approximately 67". Given the fact that X4 is supposed to provide access to more memory, and uses a scratch pad, this does not make sense to me-

I am using the select tool and select similar in order to do so...I was wondering if their was a way to limit the particle size (object total pixzel area) that photshop considers when selecting similar things.
For example, like I stated above, I am selecting for red objects against pink objects...and the red objects are round, so is there a way to limit selection to objects red and have a objective radius of a few pixels?
Is there a simple way to limit the file size of the photos selected in LR3 for a photomerge in PS5?
I have found that without limiting the size, the panoramas generated are very large - 1GB or greater.
I've found an work around by opening the photos in Bridge and then in Camera Raw where I can reduce the file size before using PS5 for photomerge. After I've done this, it's a bit of a hassle to get the panorama back into LR3. The benefit of this approach is that it speeds up the processing significantly and downstream with any subsequent processing since the files are just large and not ginormus.
If this isn't possible, this seems like a good idea for LR4.
I rendered an animation and saved it as .avi file. But the file size limit to 0.99 GB so only first few seconds of the animation was saved.

I'm running on Windows home premium 64bit,
i have installed the Sony 64 bit printer driver.
When i print the photo, it prints to the size 4.31 x 3.12 on the 5x7 paper.
I am making an independent film. And I've decided to use Photoshop to make the Poster...but theres one problem. We'll...3 actually. Hopefully someone could help me out and I would greatly appreciate it. Even if you can only answer one, I will still greatly appreciate it.
1. What would be the coordinates if you want to make a Poster?
2. How about a full paper. What size does the Photoshop picture got to be to fit a piece of paper perfectly?
3. How about DVD covers? Either just the front or the front and the back.
I have the next problem with PDF printer:
I have configured a special size and assigned to a PC3 file
(1350.00 x 1050.00 mm.)
This is the default printer for some other layouts in some other DWG's as well.
If I print the layout directly from the drawing editor, it creates a PDF with the paper size I assigned, but if I print it using the sheetset, it creates a document with another paper size based on I don't know what.
The plot and publish details window shows the next message when printed from the sheetset
Sheet: BA_00-P-050-0100___ - Plotted
Page setup:
Device name: DWG To PDF.pc3 - plotted to file
Plot file path: ...DesktoppublishBA_00-P-050-0100___.pdf
Paper size: ISO full bleed B0 (1414.00 x 1000.00 MM)

I installed a new printer Officejet 7500A recently. Strangely that the A3 paper size appears in the Plot dialogue box is 425x302mm. Tried many hours to re-configure the Properties with no success.

Hatches in AutoCAD are being displayed really poorly (see attachment)... Basically they've been simplified to polygons instead of complex regions.
And secondly, my plot is cropped to paper size. The work we're doing is significantly larger then typical paper sizes, I realize I could add a new extremely large paper size, but is there a way to ignore the paper size?
