Dec 10, 2012I am using Photoshop cs6. I purchased a template for magazine advertising purposes. The images have been taken out but there are custom designed objects (masked shapes) where I am supposed to place my images. When I attempt to place a photo into one of the shapes, using the Place Command, it does not work.
How can I place an image into one of the objects?

Dec 3, 2013How would I test for duplicate handles in a file. If I select a cirlce from an xref and it has a handle of "E6" Then I select another circle from a different xref that has the same handle. When I use GetObjectId how do I specify which handle? Is there a way to give a handle and a file path and have it point to the correct entity or would I need to cycle through all entities and check for matching handle and file name?
In the end I would like to select an object, then store that data in a file and then recall that exact same object later.

Jan 11, 2013I am using Photoshop CS6. I have a question about Photoshop command Place.(File- Place) . Here are some pictures below. It shows the problem.
I opened the PSD file that has a green circle(picture 1) and using Place command to import other PSD file that has a red circle(picture2). Those 2 PSD files are same size, same canvas size, 1024x1024. So it should place the red circle precisely on the green circle, but as you can see, if I import the red circle PSD into Green circle PSD, Place command won't place the red circle pensively on the green circle. There is a gap between those 2 circles.(Picture3) It's really frustrating, because I have to move the red circle layer manually to place it just onto the green circle.
This command "Place" isn't reliable, so usually I don't use this command, and use Duplicate layer or group to import contents of other PSD, but if Place command can import other PSD file without this gap problem, I will use it because it's much faster than duplicating.
Do you know why and how to place those 2 files without the gap? Is it a glitch? I should not use Place command to import other PSD file?

Jul 5, 2006I have a file that is 13 x9. In print dialogue box I used the bounding handles to shrink it to 9x6.
Now today I want to print at true file size. I open image size dialogue box and it is still 13x9. But when I open print dialogue box it still says 9x6? why? and it look 9x6 in the preview, not 13 x9 which is the real size of file -- so I'm confused.
If I type in 13 x9 or use bounding handles again to get 13 x9 am I now upresing the file??

Sep 23, 2013I am having problems with my arc tool in illustrator, sometimes it decides to make the handles invisible. making it a very slow process to edit the arch once it is drawn,
to locate the handles I have to grab the end anchor point with the direct selection tool and move the anchor point around, which seems to be the only time the handles for that line or shape become visible. once I realease the mouse, the anchor point are no longer visible. I have to try and remeber where the handle was and keep hovering my mouse around this area until the little "handle" text becomes visible.
This has only happened a couple of times, the first time I re-opened illustrator and I no longer had the problem, but today after reboting illustrator the problem persits.

I've restarted the program and my computer and tried different files, still no luck. The pallette will open up and I can see blur but no handles. Jan 15, 2013Version in use - X5 Pro Ultimate.This is about trim handles that seem to re-locate - from a clip to a whole project - for no obvious reason, and once it occurs the only fix is a program restart.
I have noted when working on projects that periodically the clip trim handles - those orange icons that sit at the end of the white clip strip timeline that appears in the view panel when clip mode is selected - will re-locate from the clip view to the project view. That is, they no appear in clip mode, but reappear when project mode is selected; and they then operate on the whole project. That's a trap - the first time it happened and I was trimming a clip, it trimmed the whole project. Ruined it completely, start again was the order of the day. Now, I keep an eye on that: when it happens there isn't an obvious way to get the handles back to the clip view, and the only option then is to NOT do any further changes, save the vsp and close VS down. Re-opening VS and re-loading the vsp breaks whatever condition caused the relocation of the trim handles, and gets back to condition where the trim handles being displayed in the clip view, and trimming of a clip can be done without damaging the whole project.

Jun 27, 2012I can't get the path tool to give me handles. I create a path with two points and when I grab the segment and drag it the anchors move with it. This used to work fine where the anchors would stay and the dotted lines and handles would pop out and I could manipulate the handles. I recently reloaded my system so has something changed? I'm using the latest stable Debian and it looks like Gimp 2.6 is loaded.

May 31, 2013I made a circle and used the direct selection tool (AICS5). I clicked on the bottom point thinking I would pull down and make the shape into a sort of ballon shape, or an upside down teardrop. but I got the shape below. It was very cool, as if I was pulling outward on both handles of the bottom point. But I was unable to repeat it. It reminds me of the time YEARS ago - when by accident, I pulled a milliion copies of a shape and had no idea how I did it. Just last week I found out about the tilde key trick and realized that's what happened!

Where the heck did they put it? Don't tell me Adobe deleted this basic and oft - used function and made it a multi-finger, cluster-hump keyboard ONLY command?
