AutoCad :: Export Hatching Cables Look Completely Different

AutoCAD Inventor :: Unable To Export Face Completely
Sep 10, 2012I made a part using the extrude function and cut some texts into the part by extrude (tried emboss) as well. However, when I select the face to export, letters that have area inside, such as "A", "O", etc don't like right because the face selection only selects everything outside the bounds of the letter- so the triangle island part in the "A" and the circular island part bounded by the "O" cannot be selected. This presents a problem for me as I'm trying to use a CNC to cut these letters out with a dxf file to feed my CAM program.

Nov 20, 2012Worked fine until tonight... the export window completely vanished. I installed the 4.2 update, no luck. Restarted the computer, nothing. Uninstalled LR completely and re-installed it, still nothing. I can't view the window with the options regarding export, making it impossible.

Feb 20, 2013I'll try to write this logically, but as logic has failed to get me the output I want, I suspect somewhere there will be something highly illogical...
I am trying to export a JPEG file, complete with images. I have setup the original file to 2362x602 pixels, at 300 ppi (making a canvas approximately 200x50mm). This is confirmed through Image -> Canvas Size.
Now if I want to print to paper, I can check the settings through Image -> Print Size, to confirm what size I will get.
What I want is to be able to do the same thing for an export jpg function. I need the JPG to come out at a specific dimension, not a specific pixel size. If I export my file now (File -> Export) as a jpg, I end up with a jpeg much wider than 200mm. A quick rightclick->properties shows me the jpg is still 2362x602 pixels, at '300dpi.' So why is that not the size I expect it to be?
AutoCAD Inventor :: Creating Cables With Fixed Length?
Jan 6, 2014I am creating an assembly where I need to add a light probe that is length X from a sensor to an LED. I would like to create a cable modeling this transition to make sure it can be routed around other components. I can't seem to find how to lock the length for the cable from point A to point B, it only changes based on what points I add on its path.

Nov 15, 2012It is a while ago since I used Inventor, so i'm now just practising a bit to get the hang of it.
As a start a cable stayed bridge looked fun. So I made the towers and the roaddeck. But now comes the tricky part, and that are the cables themselves. When I started I just thought I could use the 3D sketsh feature. But as it turns out, that feature is not available in the Assembley environment. I could just make the cables as a Part and then insert them in the assembley, but that is to much work. As you can see from the pictures below the holes I made in the towers to accomodate the cables do not line up with the edge of the roaddeck on which I want to secure them. So the cables make to much angles for me to make the as a part. And besides that, I just think it could be done more easily.
Below you can see the images I made of the bridge so far. The first one is an overall image, the second one shows the tower with the holes (if the holes won't work, I can always make something else), and the third image shows the area on which the cables will be attached to the roaddeck.
Can this be done in the Assembley environment?
Note: I planned this to be a cable stayed bridge, not a suspension bridge. But tips to make this into a susension bridge are welcome as well.
For the record: I'm using Inventor 2012

I have to find the minimum inside diameter for a conduit which will hold several cables of similar diameter (0.258"). The number of cables per conduit will be 10, 16 and 20.
I have played around with the program but I can't figure out a way to make this work efficiently. I am trying to account for the fact that different numbers of cables will (or won't) cluster so evenly or uniformly. That is, with different quantities of cables, there will be some room for the cables to orient unevenly to fill the available spaces.
I have included a .bmp file with 10 and 19 cables in the cluster.

May 25, 2012We have some VIPs coming to see our new waste treatment facility. I was asked to make a pretty picture for them. So I started to hactch our site plan. Roads with gravel, grass, solid for tanks. They wanted more... So i changed tanks and grass to gradients and that was ok. When I tried to change the roads to a gradient, the tanks and grass became the new gradient and the road diappeared (blank). This is in ACAD 2013. I tried to do it in 2012 and the system crashed. When I restarted ACAD asked to send error message. The road is outlined in a polyline, as are all other objects beacause I have learned that ACAD can't handle the pick area unless it is a very small area. So I have lots of extra lines that are on defpoints or a separate layer, and hatches on their own layer.

Dec 2, 2011AutoCAD generates gaps to my drawing, sometimes there is NO gap and then it says there is when I'm selection new are to hatch (puts the red circle to old place where it didn't earlier say there is gap!). I have tried to use Gap Tolerance tool first with value of 10 but it didn't work. After that I changed it to 1000 and it worked but the hatch area wasn't good. I also tried to pull line over other and trim it, didn't work either. Used also join but it didn't work.
I have used object snap always when I drew the picture. I have zoomed as much I can and there is no gaps.

AutoCAD Map 3D :: Getting White Spots While Hatching
Jun 1, 2011I've got a hatching problem...whenever I try to use a "dot" hatching...at a scale of 50.000....I tend to get this wierd white spots on different areas...and it seems to flush with the MLeaders...(See Attached Image).

AutoCAD Inventor :: Turn Off Hatching
Dec 4, 2012We are using section views in our drawings. However, we don’t want any hatching to show up. I’ve scoured the hatch libraries and hatch documentation and I have not been able to figure out how to turn hatching off, or alternatively to create a hatch style that is blank. My attempt at creating a blank hatching file is attached, but it didn’t work.
How can I turn off hatching or create a 'blank' .pat?
AutoCAD 2013 :: Red Circles When Hatching?
Mar 15, 2013When a co-worker is trying to hatch using pick point, multiple red circles start appearing and choke up the program. He is not even picking inside the area where these gap indication circles are appearing. I have had him adjust the hatch gap tolerance but am wondering if I can turn off this behavior entirely?

Aug 2, 2012I have this issue where I have stone right below some framing and other objects. I use a hatch to fill in the square of stone. When I use the hatch, I send it to the back of the drawing order, but it is right below a bunch of my dimensions.
These dimensions become hard to see. I could have sworn that I once saw my hatches leave some extra room around the dimensions. Is there a way to make them easier to see? I guess the ugly solution I have right now is to put small boxes around anything within the hatch to leave some room.

If using a polyline, for example, to create a hatch boundary, and then creating the hatch, both the hatch and the polyline are included in a group. How do I turn group select off so that the polyline or the hatch can be selected separately? How do I set the hatching up so that the hatch and polyline are not grouped together?
I have had some success using the 'Toggle value of PICKADD Sysvar' and the 'select' button but I have not been able to repeat my success so I obviously don't understand what those buttons are doing.

Aug 1, 2012I have a drawing with polylines filled with hatching. When I pdf it the lineweight of the poly line is different to that of the hatching....eventhough they are on the same layer and the lineweights is set to 'by layer'.
I have a few rectangles on the drawing which aren't effected...its only the poly lines....
