I need to know how to draw an NPTF pipe thread, male and female. In 2D. Any good reference book would be welcome. An NPT thread differs slightly from that of an NPTF, but thats OK. I have AUTOCAD 2002. I am trying to update some of our drawings at work.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI spent quite a bit of time modeling up a male sided mold to press skateboards in a vaccum bag. I want to create a female mold from this file, but need to make sure there is a 1/2" off set to account for board thickness. I've looked at derive and mold but since I have zero experience with either command I have spent hours going in circles.
The attached picture is what my mold looks like. Just a big rectangle that is 2" thick with some rounded contours cut on the top.
How to make the threads match on a male and female part. Using a tap size chart, I made a hole 31.5 mm in diameter. Then I added interior threads with a tap size M33 x1.5. How do I determine the diameter of the male part before adding threads? Would it also be 31.5 mm? I plan on 3d printing these parts, so I've also been using the thread modeler tool.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to model an internal 1/8"-27 NPT thread, both the through hole and the tapered part of the hole are modeled, but after I draw the helix and the polygon and orient the polygon to the helix correctly, (or even if I don't, I have tried it) it keeps saying unable to sweep object. I am using Sweep with Alignment with the No option. If I select the polygon first, then click sweep, it works, but rotates the polygon so that what I get ends up looking nothing like a thread profile.
I have tried reducing the polygon radius down to a ridiculously small value, thinking it might have been interference due to a possible trig miscalculation, but with no success, still have the same issue. FYI, I am using a .037" turn height for 27 TPI and a polygon radius of .0214", with a helix small end radius of .177" and large end radius of .189".
I'd like to use an "NPT" Hole Dialog thread but it doesn't show up in the Thread type list.But it does show up in the Thread Dialog/Specifications Tab/ Thread type list so it's available.
I definitely have "NPT" in my Thread.xls & I have my Options/Files set to point to the correct Design Data folder.

AutoCAD crashes with fatal error This runs on the new thread, so i suppose it has something to do with it, but i have no clue, why this should be a problem.

I can drill a hole as needed, but can't thread a hole at all. Not with the Tapped Hole function when drilling the hole, or after drilling the hole then using the Thread Tool. Inventor will just not let me create threads this way outside of cutting a coil.

I am attempting to change the thread format in inventor under the dimensions style editor, but it is grayed out and does not let me select anything from the drop down box. I want to display the thread information so it includes the unit. For example, this is what it shows now: 1/2 - 14 NPT. I want to change it to 1/2" - 14 NPT. What I need to do to be able to change the thread format in the dimension style editor?
By the way, I have a lot of drawings to do, so manually typing in 1/2" - 14 NPT will take sometime, so I am looking for a quick and easy fix.

I can't seem to find any information for me to simply plug in the values into the .xls, so I am thinking that I have to crunch some numbers. which is fine. I just want to make sure that this image below is the correct the reference for this task.
using the pitch, I should be able to calculate all my min and max values, but the xls has class column and a tap drill column, how would I determine these values??

When you have a part with a thread feature, the default setting should show the thread feature in the drawing view...rather than making the user right click the view and select "Display Thread Feature". I don't understand why this doesn't show up in the drawing automatically...it is, after all, a feature on the part.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a sanitary pipe network as well as a storm network. Now I need to extend the sanitary network one extra section. I go to edit the network, and choose the correct parts for structure and pipe from my catalog.
When I choose the draw; pipe only, structure only, pipes and structures it highlights like normal, and in the 'command' box it says to choose an insertion point. When I click an insertion point (either to an existing structure or a new place on the screen) the draw button that was highlighted becomes unclicked and nothing gets drawn. However this is only an issue when pipes only, or pipes and structures is picked. When I choose structures only It works fine.
How can i create an isometric drawing from pipe model.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the C3D 2014, and trying it. When i discovered the new function, i try to draw a pressure pipe network.
After i was take the design, there is no any object in the model space. Nothing.
There are a full list of pipes and structures in the tool space tree menü. When i just click the network name and select it, i get all of information about the planned network but i can't see any object, lines or other in the model space. All layout viewable, What is the problem with it?
I am having an issue seeing a 2line pipe drawn in MEP and viewing the drawing in AutoCAD vanilla. I can view the 2line pipe in it's original dwg file, but when I xref it into the base drawing the 2line pipe shows up as a 1line pipe in AutoCAD vanilla. I am using AutoCAD MEP AS AutoCAD which has all the enablers.

View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen creating my plan set, I need to data reference pipe networks into other drawings than that in which they were designed to show crossings in profile views or to separate out profiles into managable drawings. When I do this, if I have swapped a type-13 inlet for a 10' type R inlet or something during design, the data referenced pipe network will replace the 10' type R with a default inlet. Also if I have swapped a proposed 30" pipe for an existing 30" that have different styles, the data referenced pipe network will revert back to the proposed 30" pipe. how to make a data referenced pipe network reflect what is currently in the design drawing?
View 9 Replies View RelatedFor those who are familiar with the Ultra-Pipe Program, when I open a drawing from Ultra-Pipethe title layer is updated by the kbupdate.lsp file and the drawing decription (title Layer) is updated with the Circuit ID and TML range. Referencing the attached pdf, you can see that this would be misleading in some cases. I need the description in the title block to be updated with the drawing name instead.
We have changed the default layer colors before in the kbupdate.lsp so I know it's not impossible. I am 99% sure that the changes needed for the problem above would be in the same file.
I just designed this logo for an all-female gaming clan called "Femme Fearless".
She wanted to be "bad ass" but still "inviting". She also wanted some kind of icon to represent girl gamers, so this is what I came up with and I would really love your feedback.
I have a picture of a white female mannequin. I want to know if it is possible to superimpose the picture of a female model on the mannequin and make the mannequin realistic human looking? Following are the requirements.
1. Attach head of the female model to the mannequin body.
2. Change skin tone of the mannequin so it matches the skin tone of the model
3. The hands, legs, torso of the mannequin should look realistic. How can this be done? It's easy to just change the skin tone of the mannequin but making the mannequin look realistic is becoming a challenge.
4. check the attached document. The first image is the finished product where female model image is superimposed on a mannequin. Second image is a white mannequin that needs to look similar to the first image.I am not adding the female model image now. I will do that once i know if this is even possible.
Pipe network storm pipes: Fairly new to Civil3D and trying to set up parts list for the storm sewer pipe and would like the plan view to appear as it does currently. We use a polyline for centerline of pipe, similar to dashed linetype but line and space are the same, width set to pipe width.

Also I "insert" manhole every 400' per local code requirements using the command "network layout tools; structures only. View 3 Replies View RelatedOne of the things I seem to struggle with is being able to depict a single pipe when it needs to be shown in one profile as a crossing pipe, and another profile where you you show a lenghwise slice through the pipe. I end up tracing the pipe with eliptical objects where I'm cutting across the pipe and setting up more for the lengthwise/sideview of the pipe. Is there a way to have two different styles for the same pipe, one for a cross cut and one for a lengthwise slice?
