I'm trying to draw an object in 3D view, but I'm having trouble creating a circle in the Z direction. I know how to make circles on the X-Y plane but I can't figure out how to make one in the Z direction!
I'm making I attached a picture so you can see what the object looks like, and more or less the "3D circle"! I also attached the actual AutoCAD file that I'm working on. (The dimensions are 1:10)
I am using Inventor 2012 and I am trying to create a circle from a solid drawing I have done, I am creating a 3D drawings of a pessure seal, but I dont know how to go about making this block into a circle with a Diametre of:-

I have attached what I have done so far. I think I need to keep it in sketch to do this though?
I was making a website and I wanted to make a pattern that looks like one color turning into another color by way of small circles increasing in size. I've created a small mock-up of the type of effect that I want to make, and what is the name of the effect, or how to do it. But for some reason it doesn't let me post the image.
Where can I find a bamboo brush stroke for illustrator cs6? Free or for purchase. I'm looking to wrap bamboo around the rim of a ceramic dinner plate. Essentially creating a circle in Illustrator using a bamboo-textured stroke...
I was wondering the best way to draw a circle that passes through an endpoint of a line and then is tangent to another circle above it? I need to create a radius of 3.5 between the two points.
I need to create a 100 wedges 'spinning wheel' graphic (like a pie chart but does not require pie chart functionality) with each wedge of equal size and spacing but can't seem to find a process that works.
I have made this planet and I want its ring to look as it's spinning around it, So the upper of the ring should go behind the actual planet! How can I do that? Also how can I add some volume to the ring to make it look a bit more realistic?
Trying to lay a dime on a nickel, without the "squares". In otherwords, how do I cut out each coin and lay them on top of each other so each coin shows and isn't hidden by the top coin?
I made this technical detail. To make an arc I use ''tan, tan, radius'' command. It looks like arc and circle is joined together, but if I move closer as you can see they aren't joined together. So how can I join them? I tried 'join' command but it won't work for me or maybe I don't know how correctly use this commad.
I am using the "Make Linetype" command under the express tools to make a linetype with a single circle in it, but its not working. I tried making my circle a polygon but that didn't work either. How do I get a circle into my linetype?
Now I already understand the mechanism of the rubber band, but I’m not sure what’s name of another mechanism
For example, as shown in attachment picture, when copying a circle, then move the mouse, there is a circle in the center of the cross, what I want to achieve is how to let the moving circle come true.
I drew 2 circles with ttr command (1 and 2). The problem is when I try to trim them to remove the part I don't need, it doesn't work cause the circles 1 and 2 aren't stick with the borders as they should. At the 4 red circle points, if you zoom you'll notice they don't stick the border, never faced this problem before (usually I cut the part I don't need without problem). I've done regen/all but doesn't seem to fix that problem.
I have a little problem with trim in autocad 2012. After trimming some lines that cut through a circle there's a big gap between the circle and line, so there's no way i can create a polyline. How do I fix it?
here is the figure w/o trimming

Here it is after trimming

And as you can see there is space between the lines. How can I get the line to connect to the circle?
my 2014 inventor crashed and since then when I try to dimension a circle, I get a small "half circle" icon and it dimensions the half circle instead of a diameter or radius. Is there a setting that has changed when I crashed? I cant right click to get any dimension options.
It seems that the diamter dimension works on other things. the part im trying to dimension is a frame generator part. I have dimensioned off of these with no problem.

I've been using AutoCAD for about eight years now for architectural support in 2D. Lately drawing models for my smaller parts and rendering to get the message across. Problem is rendering. I can never remove the segmenting of arcs and circles even in the highest of setting. Does AutoCAD have fundamental problems with rendering solids? I've used 3rd party programs for rendering also with the same results.
Example of my setting: Viewres = 20000 Facetres= 10 Whiparc = 1 segments in a polyline curve = 30000
1) One circle is inside the other circle, need to measure distance from the outside edge of one circle to the to the outside edge of the larger circle?
2) One circle inside the other circle, need to measure from the center of the larger circle to the nearest outside edge of the smaller circle?
3) Circles are near each other and need to measure from the outside edge of one circle to the outside edge of the other circle?
If I want to draw a 10% slope on 5' contours how do I calculate the circle diameter needed to construct the slope in order to connect the lines where the circles intersect the contour?
I'm trying to import a circle from a GML file into Autocad Map 2010 and it doesn't seem to work. Is the "gml:Circle" element supported in this version ?
I am trying to draw the part as shown in attachment. I started off with the base rectangle whose dimensions are 120 * 42. After zooming out completely, it's still too big and takes the entire screen space. If I draw the rectangle and scale it, say by .5, would I have to scale every other line/circle that I draw from there on individually? Or is there a more efficient way to do this?
I am trying to circle one of the letters and each will receive a number sequence afterwards for the comm addresses (is what I want to do anyway). This is a gov project so I have to ensure everything is addressed properly.
Circling the prefix would make this look ideal but I don't know if there's a way to do it. I tried looking but couldn't find a way to do it.
The only way I could think to do it is do it manually with attdef and create a defined block with the prefix area already circled.
Im just starting to get my head around VBA in AutoCad. I have managed to write a code that creates a 2D truss in polylines by coordinates I have arranged in an Excel file. Now I need to extrude each member into a cylinder. Well Im not really that smart yet, having some hard time with choosing path and region.
Im good at freehand drawings on 2d autocad I'm trying to learn 3ds Max. I have a year with inventor, but very fresh on Max. I don't like mechanical, I do floor plans and cartoons.
