AutoCad :: Convert Multiple Drawing To PDF In One Operation?
Aug 15, 2011I need to convert about 60 autocad drawings to pdf. Is it possible to convert all drawings in one operation?

View 1 RepliesI have literally HUNDREDS of pictures that I want to put up. (There are a *LOT* more than what's up there now) I have to perform the exact same basic operation on all of them and I'm getting repetetive stress disorder.
The pictures are all extremely high quality so I obviously need to reduce it before I put it up. I take each picture file, reduce the width to 600, height to 450. Go to blending options, add a small bevel/emboss then save it as a medium-high quality jpg in a new directory with the same filename. (keeping the original high quality pic obviously) I then resize it to 200 pixels wide and save is as the same filename plus _t at the end to create the thumbnail picture.
Extremely basic stuff, but I have to do it over and over and over. Is there *any* possible way using photoshop and/or any other program or any combination of programs so I can automate it?
edit: On a side note I'm planning to re-do the entire site in php now that I've got a real host. (*note* the dns hasn't propogated yet thus the strange url) I want to make it so people can submit comments to all the pictures.
From all our parts of an assembly we made 1 IDW with multiple sheets. Now we want to convert this IDW to PDF's and in such a way that we have one PDF for each sheet, and each PDF files needs the same name as the sheet.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have long used the following lisp to convert multiple single text objects into multiple mtext objects (i.e. make each text entity into separate mtext entities).
; T2M - convert individual Texts/Dtexts to individual MTexts
; modified by Xanadu - www.xanadu.cz
;
(defun C:T2M (/ ss i elist)
[Code]....
However, the mtext entity always moves position slightly (compared to the original text entity) after converting the object. better lisp that converts multiple text entities into mtext entities (which are all separate still, i.e. not joined together) without the position of the entity changing?
I want to take two 3D views from (autodesk) Revit Architecture 2012 to Illustrator CS5 and then make use of the live paint bucket tool*. I've printed the two 3D views into pdf files and imported them in Illustrator**. When I select the whole image in Illustrator and then click with the Live Paint Bucket tool on the drawing to modify the drawing so I can color the surfaces, Illustrator gives me the following error:
"The selection contains objects that cannot be converted. Live Paint groups can only contain paths and compound paths. Clipping paths are not allowed."
Exporting images (jpg, png and tiff) from Revit results in the same error. Is there a way to easily convert my vector drawing into a non-clipping paths drawing? Also I'm not sure if the problem should be found in either Revit or Illustrator. What's also strange is that I'm using a tutorial provided by my university, in which there are no issues with clipping paths or anything.
* This in order to make an conceptual image of my building, which I've modeled in Revit. I want to add basic colors to surfaces in Illustrator and then take the image to Photoshop to add shadow, materials, sky etc.
** They only consist of lines, using the 'hidden line' visual style in my views in Revit, in case you know a bit of Revit.
I have 100 .dwg files that I need to convert to .pdf file type. For obvious reasons, I do not want to do this one by one.Is there a way to do this, using only AutoCAD 2010?
Simply saying to 'batch plot', use 'publish' or 'change a setting' does not work. I would like to know, step by step, exactly how to do it. If there is not a way to do this, or the way to do it is extremely complex, any Autodesk program that does it or a free program.
Is there a way to convert DWG to DXF files in very large quantities? (for example, by submitting a list of multiple files)
I work on autodesk 2012 suit (Autocad, Mechanical, Inventor, Designer).
An engineer has produced a schematic on power tools that we used "pdf2cad" to convert to a cad file.the text has turned out screwy, as in al line of text will be broken up into 2 or more different bits of mtext, and overlapping each other by a few characters in places.
we contacted pdf2cad who are usually really useful, however the settings they suggested "optimal" didn't work. How to convert these multiple mtexts to one mtext?

"There are no solids or surfaces that can be projected."
So apparently, I'm dealing with the kind of 3D model that FLATSHOT was not intended for. How I can quickly get flattened 2D views of this without eating up my entire workday?

Well I type UNIT in the command prompt and it shows inches. I convert it to feet and remeasure the diameter and it still gives me the same large number! What do I need to change? How many of you use unitless for measuring versus feet or inches?
I read up on the Help files and it said that Architectural and Engineering scales are set to feet and inches.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I went to convert my finished CAD drawing into a PDF the text came out blurry, information was missing, and the lines were also blurry and still colored, even though the plot style was set to greyscale. I tried opening the file up on another computer and it still did the same thing. I ended up copying the drawing into a whole new document and messing around with it to get it to finally print to PDF properly, however, I would like to know why this happened and how it can be fixed if it happens again. I have attached an image of the PDF that printed out poorly, and the final proper PDF so you can see what it was supposed to come out as.
