I am making a wheel but my tire is too short so that i need to stretch or adjust the lenght of my tire how can i adjut so that my tire can settle the remaining of my rim.
View 9 RepliesCurrently when I pick a grip at the end of a polygon line and type a length, the polygon goes to that length.
Is there a setting anywhere that changes this behavior to add the typed length to the polygon, hence stretching it to this new length. This would be the same as lengthen when drawing with lines.
My firm worked on a project recently with a sheet numbering system that created long sheet numbers, ie, MH-101-R1. Since the sheet numbers were so long, they no longer fit in our normal sheet/detail/drawing label blocks. (See attached DWG for an example.)
We are looking to create either a dynamic block or some kind of block that will automatically stretch with the text length.

I've got to create a dynamic block for Rebar, with symbols (which are blocks) at two end of the bar line can be changed scale follow annotation scale changes.
The problem is after I have stretch the linear grip to change the length of the rebar, if I change to another annotation scale, the sybol block auto jump to the original position, not at the ends of line as I expected. How to keep the symbols at ends?
I use dynamic blocks a lot of the time and most of them have a stretch action in them. What used to happen would be that whenever I clicked on the block I wanted to adjust and then clicked on the stretch action, it would show the distance from the base point and I was able to type in the new length of the object I was stretching. But now whenever I click on the stretch action, it shows that the current length is 0 and it is asking for the distance from the current point, not the base point. How can I change it so that it is always just the distance from the base point?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a dynamic block that I would like to insert via a lisp routine. When the routine is run from my menu I would like to select two points on the drawing area. Then I would like my dynamic block to be inserted at one of the points I selected and then I would like a specific "point" of my block to be stretched to the other point that I selected. I was wondering if this is possible with LISP? I have my old LISP program I wrote that draws a leader and then inserts my block but that was before I started working with dynamic blocks.

wld1r.dwg is my current block. It has some dynamic properties already. But I'm trying to add new properties that can be seen in my working test drawing wld1r-new.dwg
When using my code with "wld1r.dwg" you can see how everything behaves right now. Then open "wld1r-new.dwg" and note that the insertion point and a stretch point my default are in the same spot. Work with the two stretch points and look at how the block reacts.
is there a way to associate a stretch action with the length of an attribute value (i.e. # of characters in the string) or is this something left to vlisp?
View 1 Replies View RelatedOkay, I'm new to associative arrays, I'm attaching a drawing so you can see what I'm trying to accomplish with this. I'm doing an elevation view of a slab that has a cross section of the rebar. I've shown one of the bars spanning from left to right, represented by a rectangle, and the cross section of the bars running front to back represented by circles. You can see what I'm trying to show here. In the drawing I've attached, the top three sketches are examples of how this would look if it were working correctly.
What I'm trying to do is create an array (of circles) that will stretch to the length of the bar spanning left to right. I want the quantity of items in the array to automatically change based on the length of the bar and the spacing of items, so if there is 6" of spacing between the items instead of 12" it will automatically add twice the amount of items to fill in that space. I've been trying to use a path array, and it isn't working the way I want. I'm not familiar with rectangular arrays, so not sure what to do there either.
I have a contractor that created several families for us, and they left all the ref. planes full length, and I what them nearer to the objects. When I open the family all I see is ref. planes, I need to see them, I just want the closer to the parts not stick extremely far away. I can pick them one at a time, but sure would be nice to grab them at once.

I can't select the object when the group only has one object. So if I want to modify the object, I have to ungroup or add additional object into the group.

Users will connect some polyline or lines to the blocks inserted. My task is that blocks must have snap points only on their center so that the polylines must be connected to the block center point not to other points such that midpoints, end points of the edges.
I wonder if there is a way to override snap points of the blocks while other entities' snap points do not change.
Recently updated from 2000 to LT2013. In 2000 I could Modify Text. So far I have found nothing that allows me to Modify Text."To Replace Existing Dimension Text With Alternate Text" it says to "Click Modify menu > Object >Text >Edit." The only Modify menu I can find is the Modify menu at the top showing 12 icons then it's drop down showing 14 more icons. There is no Object icon in that menu. how to Modify Text in LT2013.

How do I get at the hatch objects within a drawing using iLogic?
I would like to be able to customize hatch color based on various part properties.
ie:
Purchased part = Green Hatch
Refrence = Light Grey
and much more
This would be possible if I can get to the hatch object and determin what part it is associated with.
I only see iLogic code that allows you to change visibility of all hatching, and set general hatch angle.
Since I can select a hatch in the drawing and change its color, I assume there is an un-published API object that relates to hatches

I have created a dynamic block. Herein I placed stretch actions parameter set to strecht parts including anotative text.
Now the block seems to work fine.
- When I am in modelspace and I change the annotation scale the text is changed correct
- When I am in modelspace and I change the stretch value of the dynamic block everything goes fine.
But when I am in modelspace and I change the stretch value in one of the annotiaton scales and then switch to another scale my text is changed annotativly (this is what I want) but the stretch value is set back to default (which should be at the changed value).
Is there a way to stretch a selected object into a different shape?
For example, I'm working with a friend with a tattoo design and he wants his son's name to fit inside a BatMan symbol.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a complex object (a plot with a bunch of text labels, etc.), and I want to stretch it horizontally or vertically without distorting text. I have an option to scale or not to scale strokes,. However, whatever I select here, the text always ends up distorted.
Is there a way to stretch it so that the text retains it's original shape?
I am working on creating an alignment from a single polyline. The polyline, which was originally created in Carlson 2012, is a flat polyline that is about 1200 feet in length. When I select it with create alignment from object, it accepts it and seems to work. For some reason though, the stationing is way off --- e.g. the true 50' mark is showing up as 0+04.17 which results in an end station of 0+99.31 on a 1191' polyline.

I have a problem: when i scale objects (even if I do a proportional scale clicking "Shift" button), the program automatically modify the alignment and the form of the object. for example if i scale a "stickman" which is completely symmetric, finally I have a figure with arms of different dimensions and proportions. The problem is not about the stroke dimension, is the path that is modified.
I am using Revit 2013 and I am wondering if there is any easy way of getting my generic model schedules to get the length of the object without having to manually type it in?!
I have attached 2 images to explain what I am talking about. I have created my own countertops and decided for scheduling purposes it would work best to have them as generic models. As you can see from the "Counter Top Properties" image that it has the length of my countertop in the program, but as the "Counter top Schedule" Images shows I can not choose "Length" as an available field. I had to create a parameter for the length ("Length of Unit"), which is just a dimension parameter, and I have to type in manually what the length is. Is there a way to get my schedule to get that length dimension automatically without having to manually type it in!?
