AutoCad 2D :: Show Counterbore And Full Thread As Broken-out Section

Show me a broken-out section and what the line weight would be?
I have to show a counterbore and full thread as a broken-out section.
I want that a section parallel and through a threaded hole will show the double lines of the thread.
Now only a hole is shown
I'd like to use an "NPT" Hole Dialog thread but it doesn't show up in the Thread type list. But it does show up in the Thread Dialog/Specifications Tab/ Thread type list so it's available.
I definitely have "NPT" in my Thread.xls & I have my Options/Files set to point to the correct Design Data folder.

I have lots of section views with some surfaces and pipes. Unfortunately, in a number of section views pipes are not shown in full height because the section view level range is too little. What I am wondering is - is it possible to automatically adjust section level ranges so that they fully include pipe sections? Please see also the image in the attachment.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHere is the issue we have found. While sectioning a view of an assembly in idw, the threaded lines of threaded features have a strange behavior depending on the section line used. I have attached a simple example that shows what he have found. Basically, if the section line is straight, threaded features show correctely. Independent of section participation. If the section has segments at different angles, then lines are not appearing.
The first three views have both parts excluded from section participation(Obviously, there isn't any real life need for this, but I did it to just simplify the illustration without adding a bunch extra parts) The base view is the top view or view showing the round shape. For the first example at the bottom, i simply projected the view to the left and made sure "Threaded Features" was selected. Threaded lines show fine.
Second example is the similiar, except the i used a section view instead of the projected view. Both parts are excluded. Section line is straight. Verticle in this example. Doesn't have to vertical as the line is straight.
Next example is similiar to the second, only difference is the section is not straight. You can see the threaded lines do not show. This is the problem we want to solve. How to make the threaded lines display!!!
Last example shows the same section, only this time the component is included in the section participation. And it works.
Any settings to change or a trick to make it work. Otherwise, i think i need to issue a support request with autodesk.
After a slice operation i have to make a sketch and complete lines.
For example, if i slice in the middle of a threaded hole, in the slice i don't see the thread lines, i just see as if there was a hole.
When you have a part with a thread feature, the default setting should show the thread feature in the drawing view...rather than making the user right click the view and select "Display Thread Feature". I don't understand why this doesn't show up in the drawing automatically...it is, after all, a feature on the part.
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust got updated from IV 2012 to 2013 with a new Dell (yawn) workstation to boot. OK, I did a section view of a pretty complex assembly and when I tried to take a measurement, the section view just dissapeared and it went back to full view. One of the primary uses of using section views is to view / inspect / measure, that which cannot be seen in the normal full view.
Why did this break in 2013 ? and is there a patch to fix it ?
Is there any tool in AutoCAD 2014 to obtain broken section view (generated from a base view in a layout?I have some very long section views and just can't find a way to shorten them...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI can't tell if this is a bug or a "feature."
I have created a custom thread.xls table so that thread callouts are in decimal format per ASME B1.1.
When I use the Hole / Thread feature note in an .idw, the thread class will not show on an external thread. If I change the format to not use Custom Thread Designation, the thread class appears. If I use the Custom Thread Designation on a threaded hole, everything works fine.
I can't create a split view of a section broken in. I've attached the screenshot. Is there a workaround to do it?

I can drill a hole as needed, but can't thread a hole at all. Not with the Tapped Hole function when drilling the hole, or after drilling the hole then using the Thread Tool. Inventor will just not let me create threads this way outside of cutting a coil.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen using "Hole and Thread Feature Note" to annotate a counterbore in an IDW, I can add the parameter for the counterbore depth (red circle in the attached screen capture), but the symbol is not available in the symbol drop down list (blue arrow).
Seems like an oversight that the parameter is available but the symbol isn't, especially when the symbol is used for the parameter toggle. Is there a way to add it to the drop down list?
how to cut those three portions instead of my full-section view.I have a dimensioning problem with this second radius which inventor refuses to create even it detects that it's a fillet feature. also how do I resize the dimension text.

I can't seem to find any information for me to simply plug in the values into the .xls, so I am thinking that I have to crunch some numbers. which is fine. I just want to make sure that this image below is the correct the reference for this task.
using the pitch, I should be able to calculate all my min and max values, but the xls has class column and a tap drill column, how would I determine these values??

I am using C3D 2013, I have a corridor created using a Primary Road Full Section as my assembly, I have all the slopes and ditching set, when I go to model the corridor the ditching is not showing correctly, only small sections of the ditching are showing when I know there should be more. I have the assembly setup to build the ditching when there is less than a meter fill, but will not work.

View 9 Replies View RelatedAfter crating my squared pond (or waste landfill for that matter) I runned a cross section from an alignment running across the the entire pond. The cross section did not show the bottom of the pond. I noticed that I forgot to do an infill to the bottom of the pond so I did it. But, still the bottom of the pond its not showing up in the cross section, just the side slopes. Do I have to delete the alignment across the pond and recreate it? That is probably the only thing I have not done. BTW, I have an access road coming down the side of the pond with a corridor created already and is not showing up neither on the cross section.

Is there a way to show the full GPS coordinate data in the metadata?
In Nikon ViewNX it shows one of the coordinates as S23d 19m 15.23s from my image while Lightroom 4.2 only shows 32d 19m 15s. The 0.23seconds is missing in LR4. The data must be there as I have images that are shown in different positions on the map but the GPS metadata is the same. Since the full data is not sown in LR4 the metadata cannot be accurately copied from one image to another.

View 1 Replies View Relatedrecommend a good way to indicate the location of cross section sample lines in a profile view (of same alignment) as vertical lines? the sample lines have been created at user defined locations from polylines, and do not follow a particular station order. my first thought was to use transparent command to draw line in profile view using station from plan view, but i have in excess of 100 cross sections, and that may be time consuming.
