AutoCad 2D :: Oblique Dimension Continuous Setting?

Jan 10, 2012

i'm making an isometric drawing. so i use oblique command everytime i need to convert dimension oblique at 30 degrees. is there any setting that the default system gets to this oblique thing so the action of selecting Dimension> Oblique doesn't need to be repeated? just like we switch ORTHO on and off , is there a setting for oblique dimension on or off too? i'm using autocad 2010 LT

AutoCAD Map 3D :: Dashed Lines Become Continuous In Curves - Finding A System Setting?

Aug 20, 2012

I am having trouble presenting segmented lines with a dashed line type in AutoCadMap 3D 2011. When the segments are small (as in curves) the dashes float together and the lines appear to be continous. This is not the case in for example TopoCad and ArcGIS.

Is there some kind of system setting in AutoCad where you can chose drawing technique? So that the dashed line segment starts with the blank part instead of the dashed?

Looking for the method to query oDrawingDims.Tolerance. to see if SetToSymmetric (.0625) is the current value for a given dimension.

oDrawingDims.Tolerance.Type results in 50377984, no matter what method is active in the dimensions.

From Here. You get the Loop to reset,

AutoCAD Inventor :: Linear Diametric Full Dimension Line Default Setting?

Apr 5, 2012

Autodesk Inventor 2010 .idw Drawing Detail - Where is the default setting for "Full Dimension Line" so that I can set it to always be on when placing a linear diametric dimension? I would prefer to turn it off on the few occasions when dimensioning a diameter on a Detail View that does not include the center line rather than each and every diameter on a section view. This is necessary because a diameter symbol does not show up in the diameter dimension unless the full distance line it is selected, which is not always possible. I am aware of the Application Option setting that allows Linear Diametric as a preference, which becomes the default for all dimensions, and it is user specific rather than document specific.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Setting Default Dimension Styles Different Than Object Defaults In Style Library

Apr 5, 2012

We have, as our standard library default dimension style, a 1/32 fractional style, called "1/32-FRACTION". Various Object Types, like Linear Dimension are set to this Object Style. When I create a drawing, then these Object Defaults are in effect.

This means that, doing nothing while executing a dimension command, I get fractional dimensions by default. This works good.

However, sometimes I want to create a drawing where the default dimension style is "X.XXX-DECIMAL" without changing the Object Defaults found in the style library. I've tried to make the changes from within the style library and then save this as a template. However, when I try to make a drawing based on this template, Inventor states that the styles in the template differ from the styles in the library" and then busily goes about undoing what I careful did.

So I'm hoping there is something in the API I can call on to do this with a macro. Is it possible to write a macro that after you start a drawing, flips all the various Object Styles from "1/32-FRACTION" to "X.XXX-DECIMAL"?

AutoCAD Visual LISP / AutoLISP :: Text Selection Set Using 50 Rotation And 51 Oblique

Mar 22, 2012

how to create a text selection set using rotation and oblique angles.  I am working isometric drawings from a Microstation conversion and want to create a lisp to set text style to conform to current standards.  For example, iso text in the right plane would be rotated 30 degrees and have an oblique angle of 30 degrees based on the style from the conversion.  however,

(setq txtisor (ssget "X" '((0 . "MTEXT,TEXT")(50 . 0.523599)(51 . 0.523599)))) returns nil.

since (setq txt0 (ssget "X" '((0 . "MTEXT,TEXT")(50 . 0)))) returns all text at zero degrees, I figure there is something wrong about the way the angles are being entered.

Paint.NET :: Squaring Up Oblique Face

Sep 9, 2011

I'm looking for a function that lets me take a rectangular face viewed from an oblique angle, and square it up as if I were looking straight at it.

For example (can't draw pictures to show you what I mean), suppose I take a photo of an apartment building while I'm standing across the street and off to one side. I need a tool that lets me click on the four corners of the building's face and un-distorts the face, making it rectangular.

I have used a non-PDN tool (GIMP? Photoshop?) that had this capability. We used it to model the buildings at [URL] .... from actual photos.

Now I'd like to do this with PDN. I read about Evan Olds' Quadrilateral Reshaping and dpy's Perspective Effect. I've installed both plug-ins, and while they can do the trick with a little nudging, they're not exactly what I'm looking for.

AutoCAD 2013 :: Setting Up Default Setting For Lab Environment

Sep 4, 2012

Best practices for setting up systems in a lab environment. We have a lab enviroment of about 200 systems that access AutoCad, Inventor, Mechanical and others.

We need to have a customized interface come up when Autocad is opened by students.I have read that you can do this with profiles and workspaces and also with loading a acad.lsp file.

In the past we have just copied the Windows admin profile used to customize AutoCad to the default profile. In AutoCad 2013 that does not seem to grab everything. It doesn't seem to be the best way to do what we need.

We will also be moving to Windows 7 soon which will also cause an issue.I want to find the best way to do this with out having to deal with the Windows profile.

Basically I am drawing a curvy line that twists and turns here and there, but the line has to be less then so long. So I have to approximate the length by doing strait measurements and multiplying, it's really a pain.

I'd much rather just click the line, and it tell me how long it is from end to end, across turns and rounded edges and corners.
