after i uncheck the "show all dynamic constraints"
all the dimensional constraints stay invisible even i re check the show all
i can find a way to turn the visibility of the dimensional constraint on

Is there a way to create a table to display parametric information -- either Dimensional Constraint Parameters or User Parameters? This can be done with Inventor but I haven't yet found a way to do this in AutoCAD. I've also considered Data Extraction but this doesn't seem to recognize parameters.

One thing I have noticed that's really different is the dynamic block constraints & block table actionblock properties table? I looks very similar to the lookup property table

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I'm creating a block with a block table and constraints. The constraints such as Geometric Constraints work just as assumed. When adding in dimensional constraints we start to have more fun. So I have dimensional constraints that use other dimensional constraints to manipulate itself.
EX. dimconC = (dimconB-dimconA)
dimconA is 12
dimconB is 14
dimconC would be 2
Now when ever dimconA or dimconB change dimconC would populate accordingly.
With this I wanted to make an attribute that could be placed in instead of a dimensional constant.
EX dimconC = ((Att1*dimconB)-dimconA)
Att1 is 02
dimconA is 12
dimconB is 14
dimconC would be 16
However when trying to place in formula that references a attribute I keep getting an error "A DEPENDENT EXPRESSION CANNOT BE EVALUATED" So I assumed it was missing an expression from the attribute, however once entering an expression in for it I still get the same error.

Is this something that is not allowed at all or have I over looked something?
My master drawing includes things like network information, drops, V-lans and bandwidths,
I want to use a database to count various objects/blocks in a drawing. Ideally I want to write a macro button that enables me to export the information in the drawing straight into a database.
If we're in a drawing and pick the AutoCAD application button > Drawing Utilities > Drawing Properties we can, and do, use this to enter custom propterties. Is there any way to print out a report of a drawing's custom properties? Ideally, i would like to be able to select multiple drawings and print a report of each drawing's properties.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI need to drive more than one constraint at a time. The assembly consist of a hydraulic ram that pulls a cable which is routed around a few pullys and then pulls another linear moving member. I don't really care about modeling the cable right now, I just want the cylinder piston and the final member to move in unison. I can only drive one constraint at a time, so I figured I could relate the two constraints together by setting them equal to a parameter (variable), but that isn't working. Is it me or is driving multiple constraints at a time something that would be very useful for a lot of applications?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm modeling cables running through a series of cable clamps. I'm working in an assembly with my structure as one part, clamps as seperate parts, and cables as separate parts. I modeled the clamps first and am using them to create my 3d spline to run the sweep. The clamps have moved several times and each time, the sweeps (cables) do not update to follow the new clamping path. I have tried multiple ways of solving this.
I've tried to redo the splines using "Include Geometry" and running the spline through the centers of the clamps. I've also deleted the constraints (which for some reason turn into fixed) and reapplied them as coincident constraints. However, once I setup these coincidences, they always change back to fixed.
In a last ditch method, I've created 2d sketches at EVERY clamping location (yes that's alot of sketches, time and effort) and projected the circular geometry to get a center point. This has seemed to work, but is so much work, there's no way we could use it regularly.
I am using CorelDRAW 16.3.0.1114.
Supposedly, when using any of several shape drawing tools:
• If I hold Shift when dragging, the shape will be drawn centered on my starting point.
• If I hold Crtl when dragging, the shape will be drawn with a constrained aspect ratio (such as a circle for the Ellipse tool, a square for the Rectangle tool).
But in fact, for the Ellipse and Rectangle tools:
• If I hold Shift when dragging, the shape will be drawn with a constrained aspect ratio (a
circle for the Ellipse tool, a square for the Rectangle tool)..
• If I hold Ctrl when dragging, there is no effect on the drawing of the shape.
For the Basic Shapes tool:
• If I hold Shift when dragging, the shape will be drawn centered on my starting point..
• If I hold Ctrl when dragging, there is no effect on the drawing of the shape.
I have created some reference points on a part. I have a need to include a table on the drawing of this part that shows the x,y,z coordinate positions of each of those points relative to the coordinate system origin. I have been trying to figure out a way to extract this information from the part to create source data to place into a table on the drawing.

My question: I have surveyed a plot of land, and have exported it out as a 3d plan drawing. Drawn and tided it up. because its been exported as 3d it has levels on all the points mark and lines. What I now need is to know how to put a mesh or I would say a table cloth over the drawing so that you can visibly see the contours of the land.
I inserted a table from excel to autocad with copy-edit/paste special/paste link / Microsoft excel worksheet(code) and everything seems to work nice until I closed the excel. After that no automatic updates to cad files.
PS: I checked the properties of the excel table and it is linked.
It is possible to put scale on drawing in inventor 2010? If is how?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI made a table in the file and also split the part into 2 solids.
In the drawing, when i choose the first table mamber it shows both. when i choose to show the active member it shows the first member only (as i want). It didn't happen before i split the part.
My zip program doesn't know to include only the subfolder with the generated table files, only the whole path. i hope you will manage to generate the files, if not-i will add them with the whole path
I'm preparing plans for individual land owners. I know I need to filter parcels "by hand", center, zoom, scale etc. I'm using labels to get parcels numbers on the plan but I have to add name into title block. I don't want to use feature labels because concat function does not work (I need to show parcel number) plus the name I need to put on is quite long (it doesn't fit in the drawing).
My question is: Is there a way to put text into drawing / title block from attached table or from feature properties of shp or sdf files?
Is it possible to link the dimensions in my .idw to the table in the upper left corner? I want the information in the table to reflect what is in the drawing.

I have two tables on a drawing one showing a parts list the other changes to dimensions.
The table to show the dimension changes is a configuration table pointing to an ipart.
iLogic is used to update the ipart but you have to right click to update the Active Member in the ipart to see the drawing update.
Is there a way to automate the 'update active member'? (on the ipart table - this does update the drawing)
I just have the one row in the table, it's purpose was to pass the values onto the drawing (as the part resizes I didn't want the dimensions moving so opted to tabulate them) - hoping they would update!
or
Is there a way to have a table update parametrically i.e. I've tried .csv as a source to the table but can't force an update. This way I could scrap the ipart & just import the values to a table.
The table also includes some txt comments which change with the ipart properties.
I have data in an Excel spreadsheet that I want to insert into the drawing in a table format that replicates my spreadsheet formatting and creates AutoCAD entities as opposed to a bitmap image or the mess the TABLE command generates - I'm looking to keep my text consistent within the drawing and I still use the old SIMPLEX font.

The above codes can create a radial dimensional constraint. But the type of the dimensional constraint is annotational. How to change it to a dynamic constraint?
I was wondering if the 8.5 x 11 dimensions change at all when going through an inkjet printer, and if so, how much. I suspect this is not a significant issue with scale accuracy, but wanted to be sure.

why can't I snap to a knot on a spline when trying to use a dimensional constraint? I can snap any other geometric feature like a line or a dimension string to a knot. I can grab the knot (also seems to be in the same place as the "fit point", yes?) and move it around, so why, why, WHY can't I use a dimensional constraint? I really need to be able to control a spline's fit points with dimensional constraints, but I can't get at them exept to manually move them around.

Is there a way to pin or standardize where a revision table is located in a drawing?
I have a title-block set up and would like a revision table either embedded or populated upon command, just above my title-block. It would also need to extend upward with additional revisions...
