I made a drop down menu for offset commands back on a 2010 version. I wish to bring it over but I'm having a bit of trouble. I have read through and watched a few videos and they all tell me the same thing. Go into the CUI, click on Load Partial Customized File. I do this, select my cui file and I get an error that says:
Partial customization file cannot have the same Customization Group Name as the main customization file.
The name of my file is OFFSET MENU. I'm running 2012 version and I have finally gotten almost everything setup except for this.
I want to make a customized channel with all the dimesnions fixed - except A and G (variables). See attached screen shot.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm working on creating a customized content center for my company. I am having a problem with one of the CC parts. My process of operation is as follows. Change project file to default. Make sure Library View is on Merged View. Then I select the part that I need. RC copy to our project file. Revise the Part Numbers to match our part numbers then ok. Go to place in an assembly drawing and as soon as you click on the part Inventor crashes. It seems to be only on particular part. All of the other items I have place (over 50 or more) into our customized content center work fine, but not this one.
It seems that whenever I set a key column to be "Part Number" it crashes. If I have any other key columns selected (minus part number column) it works fine. I've also tried creating my own column that says part number and when that one is selected it still crashes. The part that I am having an issue with is the Slotted Hex Head Machine Screw - Inch. Also we are still running 2010 with service pack 4 I do believe.
I'm the first one in my office to start using Inventor - I've gotten mine set up how I like it with our company standards and templates.
How can I transfer all of the customizations from my PC to the several new Inventor users in my office?
Is there a way for Inventor to pull things off of the network instead of off of my hard drive to keep all of our systems uniform?
Im having a layer state issue with ACADE 2013;Vive saved a Layer state ("trial state") that has about 30 layers and some of them have been frozen.
I made the trial state the current layer state, however, when I save and close the drawing and then reopen it, "Trial State" is no longer the current state. Instead the layer state is changed to "Unsaved Layer state", and I have to manually select my trial state each time. I haven't even modified any layers or added more layers and it does this.
Im wondering if there is any way to keep/lock my customized layer state on a drawing.
I've customized the title-block template by changing a few of the default texts and by adding a graphic image.I know from other post here that when the new template is created and then used the graphic needs to have pointer set etc set a the time of creation of the new template, I've done all that and it works fine.
However there are two points :-
1) When a new drawing created with my template then saved as a IDW is the graphic image then embedded in that IDW or referenced each time the file is opened?
2) If I upload these IDW files, as created as above to a web site or transfer to another machine do I need that template file and image to be on that other machine and/or do I need to upload the template and graphic graphic files with that/those IDW, IPT, IAM files so that when some one else opens these IDW files that graphic is displayed?

We are just starting with Civil 3D 2012. We are doing a pilot project, and the engineer wanted to make a custom curb subassembly matching the exact dimensions (angle from bottom of curb to top of curb) as the county detail. I didn't think that was necessary and thought we could use one of the generic subassemblies. usually use the basic or generic subassemblies or do you create your own to match specific municipalities' details exactly?
Do you find that the parts that come with Civil 3D are usually sufficient for design or do you make a lot of custom parts?
I have a new computer loaded with 2012LT and have transferred the license from my old machine but the new program starts up in the default settings. I have a personalised workspace with numerous settings, including custom commands, which I do not want to have to recreate from scratch. I have tried renaming acadlt.cuix to acadlt0.cuix then copying the acadlt.cuix from the old machine but when I restart 2012 it has the same layout as originally.
Looking at cui import, it seems you have to drag and drop every item from the customized cui to the current cui.
Trying to remove old customized menu from AutoCAD 2010. Open CUI Editor, right click on old menu file (*.cui) , but DELETE has been grayed out.

I've gotten very use to these commands in previous versions. Once I setup my commands, I am able to use them for the session.

I created a customized frame profile and want to publish it to the library. However the error message shows that "You d not have a Read/Write library configured......". I went to the project (default project) to change library to "Read/Write" and open the file to publish again. The error message is still the same.

Ok, I'd want to have other (others) custom command "create section view2" and optionally call it from an icon.
These commands are saved with the drawing? ( I think yes). Would be there a possiblity to have easy access to this elements to deal with them ? Is it impossible?

I have created Customized Materials in Inventor 2013.When I try to apply customized material to part it is showing different result for Drop Down list and for Material Browser.
1. Picture showing appearance of part for Wood Pine from Material Browser.
2. Same Material I tried from drop down list showing following result (Customized library has checked it is in active form)
I need do a customized TXT file create with some data the Part List and some data from Sheet.
Our ERP software read this TXT and register the Assemby in our database.
The final TXT result must be like red lines below:
C 100000-GS-005 100000-GS-005 5 Conjunto placas CJ
E 100000-GS-005 100000-GS-056 01
E 100000-GS-005 100000-GS-055 01
The columns where each text starts must be column 1, column 3, column 18, column 33, column 71.
Letter "C" means that this line is an Assembly
Letter "E" means that is a part.
Number "5" in the first line not change.
The number "01" in the lines 2 and 3, means the quantity of each part on the assembly.
We have had custom toolbars for many years that included custom pop menus etc. Now that we are running cuix customizations how do I edit these customized pop menus? Do I need to rewrite this stuff in lisp, vba, .net, whatever?
View 1 Replies View RelatedHow can I purge linetypes? We get data from outside sources and my goal is to load our linetypes. I have a list of layers and store the previous layer linetypes. I reset them all to "Continuous". Now I have to purge the old linetype definitions but I can't make them go away. I need to purge DASHED and HIDDEN so far. If I open the file and click on the linetype in layer manager, I still see the old DASHED and HIDDEN definitions. I have tried db.purge(linetypeobjectid) but they don't go away.
Do I need to go through the symboltablerecord to find the correct linetypetablerecord and remove it? Will that remove the linetype from the list shown in layer manager? That is what I need to do - make sure DASHED and HIDDEN *have* to be re-loaded from our linetypes.
I can actually purge these hidden line types.
The line types in question are funky looking line types that do not exist within our office. They often contain "$$" and and/or file names and other odd characters as if they are remnants of binding a drawing. In any case, they are not visible anywhere in the drawing. We refer to these drawings as being "infected".
If any object, i.e. block, text or even a simple line, is copied from an infected drawing into an uninfected drawing, all of the mysterious line types follow. And when I say all, I mean 50+. Furthermore, copying from one infected to another infected will double the line types. So, as you can see, if undetected, you could easily have 100's of "line types" on a drawing which substantially increases the size of the .dwg file.
The process that I have created (from researching on the internet) is to save the .dwg into a .dxf. Close the .dxf and then PURGE. Purging the .dwg will not work. And, you MUST close and re-open the created .dxf in order to purge these files. The you can again save as a .dwg. To complicate things, occasionally a .dwg will not save as a .dxf unless I AUDIT it first.
Needless to say, this is a giant pain in that the files that are infected are at least 50 in number. I have created a macro or two to at least reduce some of the steps. Unfortunately, since the .dxf must be closed and re-opened (which cannot be done in a macro) an all encompassing macro cannot be written.
In one viewport i have a contour drawn as a dashed line. to show the item is hidden. In Another viewport i freeze all layers 'above' this item leaving only the item in the dashed line. is is possible, without copying the line to have the line come through in the later viewport as a continuous line, but remain in the first viewport as dashed?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using the "Make Linetype" command under the express tools to make a linetype with a single circle in it, but its not working. I tried making my circle a polygon but that didn't work either. How do I get a circle into my linetype?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble getting my linetypes to show up. Many are set by layer and are not showing up. How to toggle it so they show up.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo i have all these linetypes (see image) that i think originated in Microstation and have appeared on my computer when i binded a few DWGs derived from DGNs. (I can explain all that more if you think its warrented).
This is basicly what keeps happening.
- I open a brand new template, all line types are there (usual: dashed, phantom etc).
- I can work away happily, untill i copy something (a line, text, circle....) from a drawing that has these linetypes and BAM they all appear in the new drawing.
In this way, the linetypes have 'spread' into quite a few dwg's, and i cannot get rid of them once they are in the drawing and its saved.
A few other things....
- Other people in the office can open the drawings on their computers = NO weird Linetypes appear. Some open it and they do appear. (so if you open the dwg attached to this and find no linetypes, i dont know why!)
- The linetypes wont purge due to being in use etc
I would say the problem has originated from when I binded the xrefs, which is fine, but how to i fix it now?
The two main xrefs that appear to be referenced in the linetypes description are being used by other people in the workplace so i cant just delete them and start again.
If and how can you copy certain linetypes that are in a drawing and use them in other drawing?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAttached is a drawing containing a big rectangular lwpolyline and two relatively small lwpolylines near the drawing origin. One of these smaller plines is on a layer that has a dashed linetype associated with it. That layer is also red. When I zoom in on that pline, however, I won't see the dashes unless or until a regen occurs. As of this writing, after trying a few things, I'm almost resigned to including a note telling the client they might have to REGEN in order to see non-continuous linetypes display properly.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble when I import XRef’s and the scaling of lines. When the drawings are importing the hidden lines do not show up as hidden lines. I know this might be a scaling issue but I do not know how to correct this. The XRef drawing is drawn at a scale of 1-1/2”=1’-0” and set to print on a letter size paper but the drawing which it is imported to is set to be printed on a 11x17 but the viewport is still at the 1-1/2” scale and the lines are shown as continuous.
