I'm looking to create a linetype where I can incorporate a specific arrow shape. The best way of going about this? The application is to show on general layout plans the escape route with a polyline with the incorporate arrow.
Until now I have been drawing a standard PL then adding the arrows manually .
Linetype that displays a arrow with a line say for drainage ------->--------? im sure you can make it but i has to change a line a while ago and i found it all a bit hard!

I'm trying to create a linetpye .The line needs to be continuous with a solid(not hollow) circles at distances.This would be the same as FENCELINE1:

but with filled-in circles.for example circles should be hatched or colored.An image of desired linetype is attached.
I've made a shape (attached image) and am trying to find a way to use it for a linetype. However, I'd like to have the left and right "blocks" filled (hatch or whatever) so that when used repeatetively in a linetype, the filled and open spaces will alternate. I may change it to be only 2 blocks or 4 - haven't decided yet.
I've made linetypes with simple line shapes, but never one like this.
I have exported the 3 polygons through the Map Drafting ribbon --> Export and then brought it back into CAD. This gave me 3 adjacent filled polygons (3 seperate objects) and I don't know how to show it as one shape entity, much less without the middle fill.
Is there another way I can accomplish this without the use of shapes?

I have created a custom linetype using a shape & also added text. I have tried countless combinations to have a different spacing for the text, without affecting the frequency of the shape.
I want there to be no space between the shape, just repeating. But I want the text to display only once for every 4 times the shape repeats. Is this at all possible?
Every time I change the text spacing, I get huge gaps in the between the shape and it seems that their spacing cannot be independently controlled.
When I "move a dimension with Leader" is there a way to create an arrowhead on the create3d leader. After I create a Linear Dimension I select it and hover over the blue box in the dimension text and select 'Move with Leader" and the leader does not have an arrowhead. Is there an easy way to do this? Autocad 2012.

I select custom shapes, then arrows, then I mouse-drag out the arrow, and, of course, they disappear when saved. So...now realizing that this is a path, I duplicate my first layer and place the arrows on the new layer. then I flatten. Still, arrows disappear.

That's as far as I've gotten and it pretty much does what I want it too, but right now it is set to 5000mm before it makes a gap with a number. I would like that gap to be dependent on the length of the line... is that possible?
For example, if the line is only 4000mm I want the gap to be after 2000 instead of 5000.

I started to create one using Express Tools and when it prompted me to create / save a new .lin file it defaulted to the 'C:Program FilesAutodeskAutoCAD 2012 - English' folder. Usually, I create it as block, insert it and change location of solid arrow around textbox. If I want to relocate this callout, Its not that easy as like multileader. I have to move solid arrow around textframe (from one corner to other) to point the same location. can this be done automatically (like mleader?)

Since the release of Photoshop CC the "Live Shape Properties" has basically chosen when it does and does not want to show up.... sometimes I even create a new shape to replace the old one and it STILL does not show the live shape properties... how hard is it to make sure the options are available at all times? I'm trying to use the line tool to drag out an ordinary line, but every time I do, an arrow shape appears. I've tried looking for other shapes, hoping "line" would be one of them, but I couldn't find anything. I've looked at the help file, searched online, but I didn't find anything. All I want to do is drag out a regular line with the line tool, but all it gives me is an arrow. Does anybody know what option I should look at to change the arrow into a line?

I've had a number of basic functions not work ever since I first installed, such as the Ctrl +/- not working, the [ and ] brush size adjustment funtion not working, the nudge facility of the arrow keys in Move Tool mode not working, and in Text Tool mode, the arrow keys do not move the cursor, but instead create spurious charachters like &'%# etc.

I am going to show you how to do it with xara
1. make a 256 x 256 pixels (px) square (very thin line 0.5 px , no fill)
2. draw an arrow inside in the left down corner
3. give it a drop shadow if needed
4. export as png
5. use program Iconfx

6. open the png in iconfx (drag and drop)
7. a "new image dialog box will open" click ok
8. advanced import dialog box: click ok
9. untitled with the png image in 48 x 48
10. now click the windows icon in the toolbar, that will make the icon
11. save the icon in a folder - give the name empty.ico
12. go to C:WindowsSystem32
paste and replace the the empty.ico which is in that folder (if you want backup the original one rename it to emptyoriginal.ico then restart explorer
this empty.ico is an overlay above any shortcuts for applications, files etc.
Now you will be able to see the custom made shortcut arrow over any shortcuts
