AutoCAD Map 3D :: WARNING - Message After Custom Coordinate Is Created
Jul 14, 2011
I created a Custom Coordinate using a predefined coordinate (Meter to Feet). Everything is ok except when I restarted Map3D, I get a warning message and I am not sure what I did or did not do to cause it.

We are trying to run an automated process on incoming AutoCAD drawings. However, the process stops if a drawing has AEC object references, because the warning dialog opens (and the program does not deal with it). Is there a programmatic way to disable the AEC warning dialog for opening? Similar to turning off the Proxy warning? Perhaps a Registry setting?

Immediately after closing AutoCAD Architecture 2012 or AutoCAD MEP 2012 a yellow warning triangle with a black exclamation point displays. This happens every time AutoCAD is closed. However it is isolated to a few systems all of which were installed using the same deployment as the other systems that do not display this warning. AutoCAD performs as expected but displays this warning when closed.

I was using 2009 Architecture. I kept getting a message in the command line: "WARNING: Xdata tag 100 is missing" like hundred to 1000 times and while its scrolling through this same message in the command line I can not do anything but wait for it to finish. Not sure if a recent windows update has anything to do with it. I am using XP Pro. I have a Dell with 3GB of ram and a Radeon X300/X550/X1050 video card and am running dual monitors. I have an upgrade to Archtiecture 2010 so rather than reinstall 2009 I installed 2010. Unfortunately, same problem. In 2009 I seem to remember that it was more random. In 2010, it pops up when I do an xref reload.

When I enter a Run File Name in the "Create Tube & Pipe Run dialog box I get the message "The path is too long. Try a shorter name." The name I entered is "Kappa 55 Suction Line", I also tried the Run File Name of "1" as a test and get the same warning message "The path is too long. Try a shorter name."

We use scripts a fair bit in acadLT & from the Desktop icon. The 2014 behavior has changed in that it displays a warning (screengrab attached) before allowing the script to load.
This is going to be a pain for users. I can't see a way to add a folder as a trusted source in LT.

I have VSx5, and I've gotten an error message or two, telling me that my GPU unit is not up the task. This happens when I'm running a few of the more demanding things, it came up when I was using the Vitascene filter and also in Boris Graffiti. Does this mean I should get a better graphics card? I have an ASUS i5 laptop, and as far as I can tell my GPU card is the Intel HD graphics 3000.

I am doing a lot of saving new files over old ones. I am sick of the warning message that pops up having a default answer of 'NO' when I go to replace the files. Is there a way to change the default to 'YES' , or get rid of the message altogether?

I am using Photoshop CS6 and if I have nested layer groups whose depth is greater than 5 I get the following error message. "This document contains nested layer groups that may change in appearance if opened in applications older than Photoshop CS6".
I can click on "don't show this message again" before pressing ok, but can i disable it from showing somewhere in the application settings? I want to enable it sometimes and sometimes not.
- The "Reset All Warning Dialogs" button from Edit - Preferences - General is not very usefull because I want to keep other messages' settings, only this one should be affected.

I want to custom dimensions about text of the coordinate in DWG. It should be like this:
I select a point then there displays a string of X,Y,Z coordinate of the point.
I select the second point to place a horizontal line(fixed lenth base the string font size) and then the string.
the whole process is like radialDimension, but what I need is to describe the point x,y,z.
and the drawing should consist of start point(actually is the target point too) and end point and the line connects the two points and a horizontal line and a string.
I think this should be completed using Dimension Class(should be CoordinateDimension based Dimension).
give me some codes. Codes is better in C# of VS2010 for autoCAD2010.
Actually there is a simple solution for this. Using c# to draw two lines and a string. But this is really bad experience when I want to move the string.

I think this problem started after installing C3D 2012, and I don't think it's related to the UAC problems. I tried asking my reseller about it, but got no answer.
This happens with all projects that use Custom Coordinate Systems created in C3D 2011 or earlier. When opening the drawing and going into "Drawing Settings", I get this, and have to click seven times through the error box to finally have it do nothing:
Then, if I go back to Drawing Settings, I see this:
Notice how most of the dialog box settings are missing.
This stuff all worked fine for years, but seems to have gotten broken as soon as I installed C3D 2012, and is still broken in C3D 2013.

If you create any custom coordinate systems in 2014 products (Civil3D, Map3D) *.CSD files are created in C:Users{user_name}AppDataLocalAutodeskUser Geospatial Coordinate Systems with the additional data in them.
My question is - can you have multiple 'coordsys.csd' files?
The reason for asking is that we are setting up a large number of low distortion projections that are specified by a government roading agency and I figure the best way to distribute these is to create a coordsys.csd with them and sync it out to everyones profile (the location shown above), but there could then be issues if a user then sets up some additional coordinate systems that will only be on their computer, if we altered or expanded the company definitions and sync'd these out again it would overwrite the users ones.
It would be good to be able to have mutilple custom coordinate system files - ones for particular clients, countries, individual users etc.

I have a small field (5 by 5 meters) to be set out with about 40 points. Currently i use EOV (Hungarian National Coordinate System), thus each point has a lot of digits. I want to make the implemetor's job easier, so i want to move and rotate the CS near to my field.
I tried to use UCS, but the COGO points retained the "World" coordinates.
How to carry out this without moving my whole drawing to the origin?

I tried to create some new How Tos in CS3 and recieved the following error message when I try to open it:
"The Adobe Help application could not load a URL because the specified file could not be found. You may need to re-install the application and the help component."
If I access one of the ones created with CS2 it opens (I dragged them over from CS2, I have since removed CS2 from this computer, it's still on my laptop) I haven't tried creating them and importing them to this computer).
I'm using Microsoft Office Word 2003 to save the How Tos as html files, and notepad to edit Add_001.howto file.
Since I gotten this error, I reloaded CS3 Design Standard, it didn't fix the problem. Also I have ensured that the Add_001.howto file points to the right location (C:Program FilesAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS3Helpadditional how to content)and is in the right format:
"John Shaws CS3" "47. A GLOSSARY OF IMAGING TERMS" 47.html (works).
"Noise Ninja" "The Thirty Second Guide to Noise Ninja" Noise Ninja 001.html (doesn't work)
The only thing new on the computer is a brand spanking new EVGA NVidia Geforce 9500GT PCI express(512 mb ddr2 dual DVI output) with the latest drivers. It replaced NVidia GeForce 6600GS and Matrox Millenium video cards (the Matrox). The new video card does not include some program that allows it to run MS-DOS programs, but I don't feel that is causing the problem.
System Info:
Photoshop CS3 10.0.1
Computer: Gateway DX310X with Gateway FPD1975W and FPD1730 monitors
Windows XP Media Center Edition, Service Pack 3
Intel Pentium D proccessor
1GB internal memory
168GB of free space on hard drive.

I have created the Custom library of ISO bolts by adding the Material to existing ISO library using the Material Guide.
The goal is to make bolts black and anodized to be more specific with purchase orders from very beginning.
After the adding the material everything is working good except the auto drop. There is a wide Table pop ups with a lot of unnecessary info.
Is it possible to choose the columns to represent there? I mean leave just Material or Part Number ?

How do we get rid of the warning message that pops up telling us that VBA is no longer installed. Since most us now are running 64 bit machines and have changed to .net programming. We do still use many Autolisp routines that work fine but give us that warning message anyway.

I want to know how to disable some of these pointless warning notifications. For example if I move something to a layer that is 'off' I get a notice that I am moving to a layer that is off and I then have to drag my mouse up and click 'ok'. I have been drafting for over 20 years and I know this and do not need or want this dialog Also, in the layer manager same issue, 95% of the time when I turn the active layer off I WANT to turn it off I do NOT need to waste my time telling the program, yes I want to turn it off or no I do not.

I have a mass print script and I have it save then close the drawing after it's done printing each one. The problem is the script updates the mass properties and some times drawings just update when opened. So when it saves different "warnings" can pop up, which pause the script until the pop up is taken care of. The warnings are typically for saving other files like the ipt linked to a drawing or if the drawing was saved in an old version. Is there a way to just accept those while running a script so it does puase?
How I save and then close the drawing.
ThisApplication.ActiveEditDocument.Save
ThisApplication.ActiveEditDocument.Close True
