I don’t know is this a problem with a lispmy company has set up or whether it is an autoCAD error. When I go to create a leader I type LE withis short on my system for QLEADER. You can then draw your leader or entersettings One I have drawn the leader I go to placethe text the problem I then have is that sometime my text appears below theline (pic 1) and sometime appears next to the line (pic 2)

In the setting I make sure they are asbelow be sometime is doesn’t matter.

(I think this has something to do withdrawing setup or annotation scale.) I have attached a file where I am havingthe problem as well as one that I am not having the problem

May 30, 20131.) How to paste (leader or line or text) objects to many layouts at once (same time) without opening all the layouts. (I am having 5 CAD files, each file has 25 layouts).
2.) How to delete objects (leader or line or text) from many layouts. I can select by filter command from all the layouts but, when you delete it deletes only from the current layout.

Sep 13, 2013Ok, I'm sure there is a very simple way to fix this that I just haven't yet discovered. When I insert a stacked dimension in the top line of my leader text, the spacing gets automatically adjusted for the hight of the stacked dimension and it adjusts the leader line up so that it actually passes through my top line. Can this be avoided? I have attached a picture for reference.

Dec 4, 2012I need to change the text line width in model space, not the overall text width or the text line width/weight in paper space. Our mold maker wants to measure that on screen and he wants to set the text line width to 0.060”, while the overall text width fixed.
For example, the text “REMOVE FROM BOAT” is 3” wide total from first letter R to last letter T and height 0.4”. That is easy to do. The hard part is that he wants the line in each letter to be 0.060” (1.5mm) wide. I practiced the true type text which is measurable in model space, but that is fixed with for a certain font with a certain size. I can change from one font to the other and get different thickness but cannot change the width freely to 1.5mm as requested.

Apr 12, 2013how to edit the line space distance for the dimension text. I can change the style, size and several other features. But the line space distance is the one thing I can't seem to edit. The only solution I know of and use is exploding the dimension and then the text turns to mtext and the option becomes available. But then if the section changes to a shorter/longer area, i have to go through several steps with the exploded lines. how to edit the line space distance for the annotation in the dimensions. i have also attached a pic of my issue as well.

Sep 27, 2012For some reason when I place new text or line work in a file it is fine, but when I save the drawing, close it and re-open it all of the text and line work found in model space goes gray. Yet if I place new text and use the match property command on text placed previously, that is now gray, and use it on new text, the new text recieves the attributes of what the previously placed text has minus the appearance of being gray. In my drawing I am using a shape file and a data connect image through planning and analysis.

In model space I set the units form my dwg (cm), draw a line (100units). Next i go to paper space, create a viewport. When the viewport scale is set to 1:1 the ploted line is 100mm in length (not 100cm). Why is this so? How should I correct this? Changing of units in model space does not effect the length of the line in paper space.

Oct 25, 2011I want to create some text that has a outline but with a little bit of space in between the text and the outline. What is the best way to do this?
Usually, I will create text and add an outline. Then convert the outline to an object and change the color to whatever the background color of the document is. Then I will add an outline to that object (the one that used to be the text outline) and I end up with essentially two outlines.
It usually isn't that difficult but sometimes the text does not cooperate and when I add an outline it has all kind of gaps and points. So I guess I have two questions. why certain texts have those gaps and points when you try to outline them? Also, is there any easier way to make an outline that is not directly against the text like this.

Aug 18, 2011I just started at this drafting job and inherited most of the graphics from others. Version: AutoCAD LT 2010.
Some of the leaders on my drawing somehow changed so that the arrowheads do not show. When I began working on the drawing, the arrowheads were fine, but while I have been working on the drawing, all of a sudden these leaders changed this property.
The properties manager lists these problem leaders as "line with no arrow." Although there is a drop-down menu to choose things like "line with arrow," the "no arrow" option does not change when I pick anything else.
