Oct 12, 2012We've set the transparency to a hatch to 90 and it still has a solid color. How can we make it transparent?

View 1 RepliesI have created a hatch with a Transparency of 30% so I can see what's underneath.
All looks good in Model Space but when I do a print preview from Paper Space the hatch appears to be completely solid in color again and has no transparency.
when I want to make a hatch and I type "H", the window doesn't appear, I only get some options on my command-line. How I can get this window back?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI created a large transparent hatch in one drawing and copied it into 2 other drawings for use. 2 out of the 3 drawings plot to dwf and then to a plotter or pdf as expected but the 3rd dwf looks good until you plot that to a plotter or pdf; then it turns solid, masking everything underneath it.
additionally, if I go straight from CAD to pdf or plotter the transparency is removed as well.
cetransparency = bylayer
plot with transparenccy is checked on
I tried copying everything to a new drawing with no luck.
I've got a drawing in Acad 2010 which consist of about 6000 lines. The image is a ship, and I need the drawing to insert in a HMI screen.
Now my problem: The accomedation of the ship is white, as is the background of the sheet. I need the drawing with a black background, but want to keep the white color of the accomedation of the ship. When I change the backgroundcolor of the sheet to black, the white areas inside the drawing will also change into black. If I trie to hatch the white areas inside the drawing the program gives a messages that there are to many open bounderies.
I tried to make a blok of the drawing and move it on a black square, but then again the white areas will turn black.
So for short: How can I make the white areas non-transparent without using the hatch-command?????
I have a set of scanned drawings that they wanted marked up via AutoCAD to use for submittals. I made a nice check mark for all the "good" dimensions using a solid green hatch (which plots as green).
I brought the scanned drawings in as xref TIFFs and put my autocad objects over them. Problem is that when I go to PDF them, the check marks are transparent and I really don't want them to be. I've never messed with any transparency settings in our CAD and I've only noticed this issue when printing over top of images.
This is in Carlson 2014 BTW.
In Autocad 2014 when I use the zoom or pan command transparently some information disappears (hatch) and only reappears when I finish the command. This did not happen with version 2009.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to make the background of some images transparent so I select the backgrounds and try to delete them, though sometimes if it was white the background remains white and other times it pops up with the fill panel asking me what I want to fill the area with and transparent pixels are not an option, and other times I know I have deleted the background and it has shown me the checkerboard pattern indicating that it was indeed transparent.

Can anyone give me an idea how to do it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have some black ink writing on a piece of white paper. I would like the writing to become part of a separate colour picture, but without showing the white background.
I was hoping someone could explain how I would go about making the white backround from the piece of paper trasparent, so I can put the writing on the picture, making it look like part of the picture.
I make banners for our company newsletter that we do every month and they vary from month to month in design. I am working a few months ahead and creating a banner for our March newsletter, which I'm doing a Saint Patrick's Day design.
To do this, I am using a JPG of a four leaf clover that I want to remove the white space behind it and then set it to different opacities to add to a plain, green banner.
I do these steps:
1. Open the file.
2. Create a new layer.
3. Drag the new layer under the original file.
4. Use the magic tool, set to appropriate tolerance and select all the white space. It does the moving dotted lines around all the space I want removed.
5. Press "Delete" to remove the white space.
I did the same procedure yesterday and it worked fine. Today, it won't delete the white space. Is it because this image is a JPG?

the steps to make the background transparent
I have scanned in some red coloured Chinese characters. They were on white paper. Now I want to make the 'white' disappear, because it ist not quite white, and when I print I get a shadowy block around the characters. If I save a .png, can I tell it to make white invisible, transparent?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhat I want to do is cut part of a photo out and place it onto another background.
I have been trying to do this by: using the magic wand tool to cut out the background of the image I want to move. Then I save that as a .png file. I then open the image I want to use as a background and (after copying the .png image,) I paste the .png image on top of the background.
At this point, one of two things happens: I either get the first image on there with lots of backgrounds showing through faces, etc; or I get the image pasted onto the background but I get the box with the little grey squares and I cannot see the background through that. I have tried playing with the transparency of the background, but then it still blends through the original images.
I've got all these great digital backgrounds that came with my studio set up and danged if I've been able to use a single one. (I don't have photo shop because its above my head and I really don't have the extra cash for it right now.)
I have an image I'm making the background transparent on, but it's making part of the image itself transparent. Am I going to have to use the eraser in order to not make the part of the image transparent and just the background? Or is there another option I can use, cause the fuzzy tool isn't working out .

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm designing a header logo for a website with Photoshop CS4 (Mac) but am struggling to understand how to get the background transparent.
In Photoshop I've designed the logo using multiple layers. Prior to saving I've disabled the background layers (used for testing purposes), thus leaving a transparent area behind the logo (shown as a checkerboard pattern). However, I don't understand what the next step is. I've tried "Save for web" as well as flattening it first, only to result in a white background. I suppose I don't need to flatten it then I've also messed around with the transparency and matte options in the "Save for web" window but to no avail (yes, I know that I need to save in either GIF or PNG though for the latter I don't know the difference between PNG 8 and 24 and which of the three formats I should go for).
As for "Matte"; is this the color in the image which should be made transparent? So that in my case with a logo containing white among several colors I should make the background something entirely different from the logo as a background layer and choose "Matte" for that? I've also experimented with that but to no avail.
I have a logo with a white background that I want to remove and make transparent. I can remove the white background but areas inside the logo that need to be transparent have turned black.

I need help making the background of several images transparent using Photo Shop. For instance, I have a picture of a flower that appears to be floating on a white background, but when you try to insert the picture on a page with a color background, the white shows up too.
