I'm creating/applying Object Data for Pipe Size and Valve Number for a Water Main Atlas I'm creating in Map 3D.
Is there a way to define Annotation for the Valve Nubmer and Pipe Size, so the Annotation is automatically created when each Valve feature (entity) is created? Or when each Pipe entity gets drawn?

I have centerline data from SHP file that I can either import or attach to. Has a few lines of object data with it including a centerline of road name. Each one unique. When I attach to the data, I can then "join" with it additional data from a database. When I select a line and look at the properties, it contains both the original object data AND the additional data from the database. SO far So good.
When I edit the style and try to add feature labels only part of the labels come in. I end up with a lot of them with only the letters "text" or just not there. If I right-click on the line and select "Show Data Table" I can confirm that there is data for that label. I find nothing in common with the map features that have labels, or don't have labels. Kind of random.
Question: If I import the SHP file and create object data I need to know if there is a way to "ADD" the rest of my data that is in the database to this object data. If so then I think I could define a Template and label each piece with the block with attributes. Is this possible? OR
Is it possible for me to export to a new SHP file after I have connected to the data (both shp file and database).
I've been working a while with AutoCad now but this week I received a task which I am not sure is not even possible to do.
I've been exporting drawnings from an other program into AutoCad2013 and all the objects in my drawning appear as loose objects in AutoCad. Can AutoCad create automatically blocks from these loose objects ?
Example : I added a picture of a transformer in this message. This object (2 circles, triangle and star) becomes all loose objects and is NOT one symbol anymore. My question is, if it it is possible that Autocad can recognize these loose objects and create automatically blocks from them. There are a lot of transformers in my drawnings and If I have to do it myself it will be loads of work.
Another thing they asked to do is working with correct European Symbols. I should therefore change blocks in my drawnings into correct one's. I believe when the wrong symbol is already a block it's more easy to change them. I think I should just select all wrong blocks, edit them and then update them. But before this, I have to get blocks in my drawning ofcourse.

Similar to automatic numbering in mtext, but with a hexagon or circle around each number at the beginning of each line. Right now I just type my paragraph then manually insert a key note with attributes at the appropriate location. Problem is when I add or delete text from the paragraph, the line spacing may change, then I have to manually re-align all the key note blocks.

The lisp does a wonderful job - however, it only works if you already have a block created. We are in the process of drawing components and making blocks one by one, so it makes sense to add the attributes automatically when the block is created. We currently have over 500 components to create as a block and set the attributes to each one by one.
Also I would like to know, If Fields can be used inside the lisp routine. That way we can always have access to the attributes from outside the block and change values for all the blocks at once.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to create a document, Gimp finds my web cam, but not the twain driver. The scanner is a perfection 636U. When I click on "create>scanner/camera", it gives me a Twain.exe system error - error message that reads:
"The program can't start because PMDD32F3.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."
Some more info that might be useful:
If I go into epsonscan directly, it finds the scanner and scans just fine. I can export the image and open in Gimp just fine.
The laptop is a win7 machine. There are no Win7 drivers for the scanner. I am using some Win2000 drivers that I used to use in XP with no issue.
The PMDD32F3.dll file is in the Windows>System32 file
I'm at a loss on why epsonscan works itself perfectly, but not in Gimp like it does on my XP machine.

I have an Excell file with assigned color combinations (values from 1 to 6) in the rows, and the shape name (A to F) in the columns. Column 7 is a string containin the color combination names (i.d. 123456, 123345 etc...) so that I can output each combination with the color/numbers in the name.
I'd like Illustrator to pick every row and assign the contained colors to each shape of the column and to export a .png with the name from column 7 content.
Just simple as that! But to me it sounds pretty hard!

Is there a way to create a block with attributtes that automatically complete x, y, z, lat, long for the insertion point of the block?
I am trying to complete text in paperspace that will automatically fill in the lat long of a point in model space without using a table. I have tried field insertion with reference to a cogo point, but it doesn't give options for position on a cogo point. If I pick a block with attributes, it will let me pick any attributes, and x,y position for the block.
Cogo points show all the information I need to propagate in the properties....but how do I get that to translate into the text using fields or some other method?

Whenever I type a url or web address Corel insists upon underlining and making it a link; how do I turn this off. I highlight the url and remove the address from the url field and click apply and it takes numerous times repeating this process to remove the link. I want to turn it off so it does not automatically create a link.

Version is 2010.I've made a quick training drawing for some new people to practice 3D piping. Very simple mech piping 2d plan that I want them to turn into 3D. I put leaders on the piping that state it's height and size. I had the first person work on it yesterday and the annotation showed up fine when we xrefed it into that persons training drawings. I then noticed that the routing preference didn't match very well to what they would be doing soon. I wasn't happy with any of the presets so I created a new drawing and created a new preference that better reselmbed our work. When I got the second person into that drawing, we xrefed the architecture, which was fine, then the design drawing, which was fine except for the fact that the annotation was missing. I tried changing the layer that the annotation is on inside the design drawing but that hasn't fixed anything.

The text set in the Section Annotation Block Symbols move when the block is copied from one drawing file to another. Regardless if in the block editor, the position of the test remains the same.

I wanted to use annotation scale objects long time ago, but I was scared…why?In the office no one knows what annotative objects are.
I already start to imagine the "curses" I'll get when they open my drawings in their computers and see that the dimensionin the drawing are not scaled the way they used to.
I was thinking about telling them a command that will do the magic.
I am beginning to use annotative scaling. I am successful when dimensioning and multileader-mtext. I like my leaders and dimension text @ 1/8". When I make my viewport scale 3"-1' all is good.
However, when i try to insert a new leader with same text style and choose block and detail callout my text doesn't completely fit in sheet # slot. There a way to change this. Block editor maybe?
