mtext notes in my drawings occasionally reformat when I reopen a file. The notes become a column of single words. I have to go to each note and stretch the box. Doesn't always happen, but when it does every mtext box becomes a column. I'm using LT 2012.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using background masking in Mtext to cover up the mechanical piping in our drawings. It works fine in AutoCAD, but we convert the drawing to pdf and then send the pdf to the printer to make prints. Now
the background masking is not working. You get a line going through the text.
I'm adding wall type tags and moving dimension objects (leaders, mostly) around in a plan. Occasionally, maybe 2-3 times an hour, text objects and dimension objects suddenly cannot be moved. When I try to move them, they disappear, and upon Regen they reappear in their original position. AutoCAD does not crash- everything else is fine. I have to close and reopen the drawing to regain the ability to move text and dimension objects. Audit sometimes finds and corrects problems, sometimes not, but either way it seems to have no effect on the problem. My Autosave is set to 30 minutes- probably not a factor, but who knows.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI saved a file last night and now this morning I get an error message stating: "Photoshop CS5.1 Extended: Could not complete your request because there are too many Files Open. Try closing some windows and try again.". I've rebooted the system and made sure Photoshop was the only program running and that there were no other files open prior to trying to open my file. I increased Photoshops ram usage, checked the OpenGL settings, 3D and VRAM settings, cleared my temp files and am at a loss for opening this file.
System Specs:
Win 7 64
6 core I7 processor
32gb Ram
3GB VRAM
600gb free space on 7200 rpm drive
File specs:
1 3D object replicated maybe 5 times (yes, I should have rasterized them, and will do that to 4 of them if I get the file open)Maybe 8 textures..Not sure how many total layers.
Is there anyway to get Photoshop to reopen this file?
For some reason when I place new text or line work in a file it is fine, but when I save the drawing, close it and re-open it all of the text and line work found in model space goes gray. Yet if I place new text and use the match property command on text placed previously, that is now gray, and use it on new text, the new text recieves the attributes of what the previously placed text has minus the appearance of being gray. In my drawing I am using a shape file and a data connect image through planning and analysis.

It does this is I double click the file or I do File >Open. However if i save the file as 'Version 13' it opens fine. The error message reads "cannot complete your request because of a program error" -- it is a very large file (I have been saving it all along) and I had just "flattened layers" and went to open up a new, blank photo file when it shut down. View 9 Replies View RelatedOk, so somehow I really screwed the pooch and reformatted the HD with all my 2012 and 2013 lightroom photos.I still have my main library file and 2014 photos as they are on a different drive.
Now, I think I can go back and recover all the images which is great. But they will not have their original names or folder structure.So I'm not sure how to handle this situation with my library. I don't mind if I lose all my edits on those photos, but I want to have a clean library and nothing unlinked.
Whats the best way to get my libarary back into good shape after I have my recovered files?
A DPX sequence I'm importing is coming in with 24P timecode but should be at 23.976. Once imported, I tried changing the timecode track via Tools > Reformat and selecting "23.976" and "Affect Record Timecode" - but am then prompted to process a timewarp over the clip. That doesn't seem right to me since I'm just trying to change the TC and playback rate of the clip without actually affecting picture.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've a question regarding a conform workflow in Smoke/Flame. Is there a way to reformat your timeline to HD, but with keeping the handles and cuts?
For example if I do a conform with 4K red files in a HD timeline, after the conform. I would like to commit everything to HD, but with handles. This is because I don't need the smoke to cache the large 4K source media files.
I tried using the reformat option, but this gives me only 1 long clip. without cuts and handles
I also tried selecting the timeline, and choosing commit timelineFX. This will commit every clip and keeps the edit points, but…..removes the handles.
In the old Smoke, before 2012, there was one way. Namely to use the reformat tool in the library. But now it's gone.
Why is this happening?
The dwg was fine, then it crashed while changing from modle space to paper space...
When i recovered the dwg, EVERY MTEXT I try to edit becomes rotated vertically and stays that way when i close the edit box...
I do not recall hitting any buttons or making any keystrokes without my knowing...
Is there a way to get my text back to Horizontal and stay that way?
I tried setting the MTEXTFIXED to: 0, 1 & 2.
NONE of these options changed anything.
I NEED to have this fixed. more importantly, i need to know why this is happening sop that i can take steps to prevent this happening in the future...

I have numerous MText paragraphs that I need to combine into a single piece of MText. I want the paragraphs preserved in the final piece. I've found some routines that can combine pieces of MText but I don't know if they preserve the paragraphs.I have DotSoft Toolpac but it doesn't seem up to the task. C

Autocad Express Tools allows converting text to mtext. How would I be able to combine multiple mtext into a single mtext?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been having this issue happen repeatedly, but not consistently. In a new file, I adjust the width of an mtext box so that the text wraps into multiple lines. When I next open the file, all mtext boxes are back at a wider width so that the text is all on one line. The start of the text is also usually in a different location. This was happening on 2011/XP and now on 2012/Windows7.

When I tried to look at it in 3D view, it looks like a city.. but it is not solids and some lines are made from hatches. Before I remember we tried the flatten command to flatten the drawings but when I use the softwares that we have (from autodesk) it doesn't have that command. I searched the net for some solutions or an equivalent command for flatten but it doesn't solve the problem.

It did this with my personal computer as well as the school computer I was on at the time. I'm guessing I changed a setting within the template? 1 How do I determine what coordinate system a drawing I have received has been prepared in?
2 I know how to export drawings to a .shp file but how can I export this drawing to a .shp file and ensure that coordinate system is maintained or otherwise changed for use in Arch GIS?
I have successfully exported the .shp file geometry previously but the cordinates system doesn't seem to match ARCGIS data sets. I am trying to establish is this an Autocad or ArchGis issue I suppose.
