Not sure if this is an AutoCAD problem or not but it only occurs when printing from AutoCAD
When plotting from AutoCAD the plotter works fine for a portion of the page but then starts printing the entire page solid black. When I first create a pdf of my page and then plot the pdf everything works fine leading me to think it might be a AutoCAD problem.
Is there a way to automate the page orientation when plotting. Each time when doing pdf, I have to select portrait versus landscape through I believe that 297x210 or when width>height window selection could already infer a landscape selection to the program.
Also with respect to pdf printing: Is there a way to define a path for all the pdfs to go and to use the layout name as a prefix for the pdf. For additional info, I use cute pdf.
I have AutoCAD 2007 on my machine.I have made a dll using AutoCAD.NET API which does the task of plotting a DWG harness drawing to a pdf file.I specify the device name and the page size to be plotted in a AutoCAD.NET method SetPlotConfigurationName(ps,"DWG To PDF.pc3",papersize).It works fine as long as I keep on giving default paper sizes.But, when I create a custom paper size using the plot configuration editor which in turn produces a new .pc3 file and when I include the same as the device name in the above mentioned method,it does not work.It throws an exception as eInvalidInput.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to batch plot 60 .dwg files to PDF. When I do this, it slices off a piece of the title block on the right.
When I plot a single files I can set it to extents, 11x17, and center the plot, and the PDF comes up perfect.
I save this page setup and try to batch plot again, and when there is only one file on the list, my saved page setup is available in the dropdown menu. The second I add another one, my setup disappears from the list, and the import option doesn't appear to work (I choose a .dwg that my setup has been applied to and nothing happens).
Is there a trick to applying a saved page setup to an entire list of drawings in the batch plot utility?
I am using AutoCAD Map 3D 2011 and I am plotting a map with transparent polygon features as well as an Excel spreadsheet inserted as an OLE object. When I plot with transparency turned off (in the _plot dialogue box) the spreadsheet is white but the features are solid. When I plot with transparency turned on, the features look great, but the spreadsheet has a black background with white text.
How to get the spreadsheet to keep a white background while plotting transparency is turned on? I have tried changing the background of the spreadsheet to 254, 254, 254 with no change in the results.
I have a list of drawings which i want to batch plot using dwg to png plotter. I want the page setup file to use sun high res, plot scale fit to paper, plot area extents, plot offset center the plot for the model space
When in batch plot, the page setup shows default, however this is not my pagesetup settings as it shows default none, how do i make it see the page setup i want?
I am trying to set up a Plot Style for the office and have gone through the standard procedures to do this, but can not get it to print in black/white. I am trying to set up a universal plot style that everyone uses.

I am trying to plot this floor plan, which has different layers, and each layer has diferent colour. When I select, dwg to pdf, A4@1:00 ISO full bleed with monocrome applied, and do a prewiew of this plot, all of the layers are plotting black like they should exept one, which is showed in the image. The layer is no diferent from the others. I created a new layer named simillar to the one with the issue, moved things across to the new layer, changed new layer colour, and it fixed the issue.
Also, when ready to plot, the autocad comes up with a message saying that I dont have a pdf reader, but I do. I have the adobe reader installed. Usually, when I plot the drawing as pdf it nicely, automaticaly brings up adobe reader with the drawing, and I can quicly review it. Now I just keep getting this message.
Is there a way to "link" the adobe reader, so that it stops jumping out this message, and instead, opens it outomaticly, like normally it does.
Is there an obvious reason why a polyline would plot grey instead of black? If I select a monochrome plot style table, the lines are black. I noticed certain fonts will plot grey instead of black, but I am stumped on an object.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using a HP DesignJet T1100 (non postscript). I have inserted a screen capture of a google map into a sheet as a area/aerial location map for the project. Unfortunately, the jpeg is plotting out as solid black. I have tried inserting it in different ways but same result when plotting. I understand the difference between PS and nonPS plotters/drivers but I was under the impression that there was a setting to plot images in nonPS plotter dialouge box. I did find various incarnations of my question but nothing that directly speaks to it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm new to Map 3D and not to Civil 3D. I connected to a roads and streams shp file from a ArcGIS directory. Everything came in great and I even was able to get everything named all at once from the attibute directory. The problem is that the features seem to only plot in the colors that I see them as. If I change them all to black, then I see can't see them at all. I have been spening the past 3 hours trying to get them to jus plot black. We also have to stick with stb plot styles in our department.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAs you can see in the attached images their are tiny black holes that appear on the plotted pdf that are not there in paper space. I use the 3d clip command for my viewports to split up the tower into sections. The only thing I can think of is that for some odd reason when plotted the plot routine picks up these bolt holes that are suppose to be clipped out. how to prevent this?
View 2 Replies View Relatedhow to stop AutoCAD Lt from ploting in grey... it doesnt seem to make sense to me why this is happening. We use to have Autocad 2007 and a lot of the files that we still work from were created in that. Everytime files are now plotted to pdf parts of the drawing appear a very light grey as oppose to black which is how they appear on the screen. In the plot style table in the page setup they are also black - and I have tried changing it from monochrome to custom pen assignments, nothing seems to change it. The files are usually in stb as oppose to ctb. whole page prints black or the colours that I have actually clicked on?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to plot the file from the layout the middle and right part of my xref'ed image comes out as a black box - the top, bottom and left edge are fine. As are the line-drawings from two other xref on top of the image. The problem accourse both when I try to a physical copy on our plotter and when I try to plot to a pdf.

Before long I was up to 100 pages, looking fantastic. But then the thought come to me, I have set may page colour to BLACK and all my drawing and text are WHITE as I said looks fantastic until you go to print a page. How much black Ink would you use printing 100 pages black.
SO MY QUESTION IS CAN COREL REVERSE THE LINE ART TO BLACK AND THE PAGE TO WHITE SO I CAN HAVE A PRINTABLE VERSION ?
I have tried publishing to PDF then in acrobat replacing document colours and on screen that works fine but when you print it still prints
With the black background and white text for some reason.
I have thousands scans of text (greyscale TIFFs on white background) that need cleaning up. Each scan has tiny black spots throughout the page, which cause unacceptably "dirty" prints. The only method I know is to select areas between text manually and hit the delete key - which takes about 30 mins per page! There must be a way to select an entire page and remove black spots of a certain size in one hit.

All pages have a white background so I would like to have the document print with a black rule/ border around it so I can tell what it will look like. Is there a way to do this without manually putting a rule around all 25 existing artboards? Or is there a way to do this in the Acrobat pdf I'm outputting from this doc?(CS5)

I'm wondering if there is a quick way to check a document like this in CS5 programs to see if it is truly in black and white or if there is something in there that is RGB or CMYK.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm attempting to plot a drawing with a 3d shape and a title block around it. I would like for the occluded lines to not be drawn therefore I'm using the hidden visual style and set shade plot to hidden as well.
My problem arises from the quality of the plot to PDF versus the quality coming out of a printer. It is just a 8.5x11 page. The pdf comes out with horrible anti-aliasing and jagged lines, whereas the print is entirely smooth. Is there something simple I'm missing? It would be even better to find a way to make the plot to PDF come out in vector format! I know it is possible to show the layers and have them vectorized in a PDF... How is this done?

Is there a way to remove the *Model* page setup entry from the list of Page Setups in the Page Setup Manager? This is the first time I am seeing *Model* in the list, and I suspect that it the reason I am not able to generate a PDF for this particular drawing. When I try, I get the following error:

I have this idea that removing *Model* from the list will do it. In addition to causing PDF creation failure, I believe it is also responsible for forcing the Model to always be in the Publish list, even though I have unchecked the "Include model when adding sheets" option. I can remove it from that list manually, but it comes back every time.
I am guessing this will be a no but is there a way to change page setup for more than 1 page at a time? I have multiple pages in a drawing that I want to change to all the same page setup.
View 3 Replies View RelatedUsing Acad LT 2014, Win8. Using stb plot style. I also tried printing from my Win7 laptop, same result. Does not appear to be a Windows8 issue.
I am having something odd happening, I think it is new with 2014.
I noticed that my lines are not actually printing as black, but rather a very dark brown or almost black.
I have a stb style (Bk 1.00), Color = black, screening 100, and for some reason it's not really printing full black.
One layer (A-Elev-Maj) is set for color 132, but the plot style is Bk 1.00. It prints on my Canon Pixma and on pdf as very dark brown.
I have another layer (A-Fill-Bk) set to color 0,0,0, and also plot style Bk 1.00, and it prints dead black.
I tried making the A-Elev-Maj layer 0,0,0 and it still prints an "almost" black.
I checked in the stb file, it is really set to black. I tried 250, as well as 0,0,0 and go the same result.
Attached pdf. You can look at the fence railing or the triangle chimney cap to see the comparison of the A-Fill-Bk which is printing actual black and surronding lines which are "almost" black. Zoom in and you can see it.
I quite often need a separate ruler scale on each page of a multi-page document. The only way I know how to do this is to create a separate document for each drawing that requires a new scale.
I request that you add the ability to change the ruler scale on a per page basis within a single multi-page document.

Lots of Excel data - eg: 6685.excel example.tifcolumns x AZrows x 300 upwards
All rows required to create a book of running information.
If I use a label type approach some rows have less data making the layout uneven (unsuitable for the project)
Is there a way to merge with a fluid result ?
Ie row one takes up 2 lines Row 2 takes up 5 lines Row 3 takes up 1 line etc

Several times a week I need to take a PDF (single-page doc), then convertto a page-sized PNG with quality good enough to read the text (and atransparent border), and then convert to a SWF. I have a PNG-to-SWFutility, but when I used it on the PNG saved after I opened my PDF andexported from GIMP, the end result was not good enough. A co-worker saidGIMP couldn't make a PNG (w/transparency) with enough quality. He said we'dhave to use some other software. Part of the issue was not being able toresize without losing quality before the PNG export. True or false?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter moving a page in my document the master page elements no longer display on screen or in print. If I move the page to a different location in the document the master displays but if it is in the specific position that it needs to be it will not display. The document has multiple Masters and others do work on the page but the one that I need will not. I've tried deleting the page and adding a new one and that does not fix the problem. I've checked and "Hide Master Items" is not checked. The page in question is in position 48 with F-Master applied. If I move it to position 49 it works, 50, it works, 51, or any other it works. If I apply a different master to the page, it works. If I delete the page, add a new page and apply F-Master it still does not work. The only page that this problem is happening on is page 48.
View 1 Replies View RelatedTrying to set up a datamerge file to create multi page spread documents with fields on different pages. Attempting to set it up so it's as automated as possible as there are up to 20 different merge documents needing to merge with up to 100 different csv records from the same file each week . The merge documents have different and repeated merge fields on most pages.
I've set it up so that the document has facing pages, and most pages have images spread across the whole of the spread. the pages preview fine, they are created ok when using 'Create Merged Document' although the page numbers continue from one document to another (another problem). but when I come to export to pdf, then the merge only shows the image on the left spread but on both left and right spread single pages, and the page numbers don't show the correct page numbers eg it will go p1 p2 p1 p2 etc all the way through the document instead of p1 p2 p3 - p20 etc. I don't want to have to merge first then pdf but can't understand why the images and page numbers are not showing correctly.
If it's a bug, then I cannot believe it wasn't caught before the release. So here it is. I simply put artistic text down on page 1. Select the text and copy to clipboard. Add a new page and paste the text. On my computer, the text changes from artistic text (as copied to clipboard) to paragraph default text left justified across the center of the page. It doesn't matter how much text I select, it always pastes on the new page as paragraph text left justified and across the center of the page.
However, if I select artistic text and any other object, copy and paste to a new sheet, it works erectly. Apparently, I now have to select text and an object to insure that the paste feature works properly?
