Jul 7, 2011I have started getting the message 'The configured Heidi driver was not loaded. Switching to the default software driver.'
This seems to happen when opening a drawing but sometimes at random.

Apr 25, 2011ve seen many posts about this type of error, however, I do not see how to correct this in 2012. I am operating 2012 architecture in Windows 7 through VMware on an IMac. I have run 2010 and 2011 on this machine without this issue but now 2012 has this issue. I check Performance Tuner Log and the 3d device is VMware SVGA 3D.

Created new PC3 for KIP 3100 plotter using its AutoCAD Heidi driver for Win7x64. Upon plot preview the following error occurs.
This causes a crash report which has been submitted to Autodesk. The response was to install service pack 2. Error still occurs after installing the service pack.
Using the non-AutoCAD driver works.
AutoCad :: Loading Alternative Plotter Driver To 2000?
Oct 30, 2013I am running AutoCad 2000 and using the plot-to-file option to create a file for use with a basic home workshop CAM system. This CAM system has been designed to run with data created using the Hewlett Packard plotter driver HP7470 but unfortuneately my version of AutoCad 2000 does not list this driver as an option under the Plotter Manager/Add a Driver tab. how I can go about finding and downloading a copy of driver HP7470 in order that it may be added to the list of options in the Add a Driver list?
I have tried using some of the alternative drivers listed in but all appear to give inaccurate or spurious results.

Jan 22, 2014I'm currently working on a site which is almost 95% complete. The loading time for the site is approx 7-10 seconds which seems to be slow. I have placed a preloader but that doesn't seem to be coming up while the site is loading.
Is there anyway to speed up the loading time. Like some code that will tell it load specific number of frames first and then load the rest in the background?
I have compressed the images that are being used but cannot compress further as they may lose the quality.I've got the preloader working and now it seems to be showing up while the site is loading. Is there any way to speed up the loading time.

May 11, 2013I have recently installed a computer system and the Plotter the client is using is a Canon W7200; Canon have refused to release any updated drivers and there were never any previous 64bit drivers that were created for this piece of hardware.

Nov 6, 2012I've been working with a firm for 6 weeks now, and had no major AutoCAD problems for the first 5 weeks. We're running AutoCAD 2010 on my machine, and it crashes quite often when I close drawings, which is quite annoying. But last week after opening a series of drawings to print some stuff for the boss, and CAD crashing after every 1 or 2 prints, I got the message:
A display driver file (.hdi) is missing or has been corrupted. The program will be closed.
This problem may be caused by missing .hdi files in the following location:
C:program filesAutoCAD Architecture 2012drv
I ran a repair, then did a reinstall, and when neither of those worked I just uninstalled and reinstalled the whole program. I still got the error message, but I had opened AutoCAD Architecture and was using that instead for a bit and saw Autodesk do an update in the background. So I booted up AutoCAD 2010 and it was working again so I guess it fixed the problem. I used it for a few more days then yesterday I had to open and print another series of drawings for the boss and it crashed again after every one, as usual, and when I sat back down and tried to open up a drawing to work on it I got the same error message again. Frustrated and angry, I switched over to AutoCAD Architecture and imported my Classic setting and used that for the next day. But this morning I had to open and print 3 more drawings for the boss and Architecture crashed after every one, then it started giving me the same error that regular AutoCAD has been giving me about the missing .hdi file. I copied the drv folder from a co-worker's computer and replaced mine with the working one, but neither version of AutoCAD is working again.
So I ask, what do I do now? I can't keep uninstalling and reinstalling AutoCAD every week because of these crashes and missing .hdi files. I need a real fix, something to fix the constant crashes and missing files. Sometimes I have to open multiple drawings to pull blocks or whatever from an older drawing, and I can't risk CAD crashing after I close these drawings and me possibly losing some work on the file I am actually working on at the time. this is making me way less productive at work spending all this time trying to get AutoCAD to work.

Jul 26, 2011I have a brand new HP Probook 4530s with the correct requirements to run LT 2012 as well as a certified and tested graphics card and latest drivers, but as soon as I try using offset or trim functions while drawing, my screen goes blank for about 4 seconds and an error message below tells me my Display Driver has stopped working and has recovered.
No matter the screen resolution settings, it still does the same, also the laptop is still cool, so can't be a heat issue.

Installed F-secure and made exceptions rules for all Autodesk related stuff
Installed Office-package.
Downloaded and installed Autocad LT 2014, no problems detected but when I start I get this error message.
I got less then 2 hours to fix this and a few other things I havn't gotten to yet and I need this laptop up and running tomorrow for a seminar.
"A display driver file (.HDI) is missing or has been corrupted. The program will be closed."
This problem may be caused by missing .hdi files in the following location: "Autodesk>Autocad LT 2014>Drv>
I can't find the specified file under the folder so I'm guessing it is missing, any quick fixes for this?

AutoCAD 2013 :: Video Card Driver Update
Apr 17, 2013I'm updating drivers for Computers with Nividia Quadro 4000 video cards. I went to the Nvidia website and found two drivers. one I found that was certified for AUTOCAD 2013 and the version is 310.50. And another driver for the video card version is 311.50. should i download the newest version or the ACAD Certified version? Could the "Certified" version download not be current? Are there any drawbacks from one to the other?

Oct 28, 2013I having difficulty batch printing using Scriptpro 2.0. In short, scriptpro is using the simple batch file (see below), to add a xref and then printing using the DWG to PDF driver. I have tried using a paper printer, which works fine, so I suspect the problem is when scrippro calls the DWG to PDF driver.
I am using accoreconsole.exe application.
I inserted a "qsave" command after the xref is inserted, and the xref does get saved, so, I know the script is working up to that point.

Aug 27, 2009I've got AutoCAD LT 2010 and I can't run it due to either a DLL missing or a Display driver file not found. Anyway I get an error message window pop up then when I click ok there is a second window that appears and then it shuts down. I've tried both a repair and a reinstall but the issue keeps happening.

Apr 23, 2011I have an Nvidia Quadro FX1500 graphics card on XP64. Getting the correct video driver for ACA is critical as we all know. I did a search of the Adesk web site and one page told me to use version 259.57, while another page told me to use version 265.70.
The page telling me to use the newer driver was under the certified hardware page, where ACA is not a choice in the product used, only acad.The page telling me to use the older version was under the ACA support page.Then I go to the Nvidia web site and they tell me to use the 191.00 version.I'vehad a look nside the hardware XML installed with 2012 and te supported driver version is 6.14.0012.6570.

AutoCAD Print / Plot :: Margins On HP LaserJet With HP Universal Driver
Aug 8, 2011Ever since updating our print server to use the HP Universal driver, my ability to tweak the non-printable margins has gone away. In the past I was always able to easily tweak margins within my PC3 files using the "Modify Standard Paper Sizes (Printable Area)" tool. Setting all four values to say "0.25" would result in an even 1/4" margin around all four edges of the paper.
Now however, that behavior is just plain different. Using 0.25 all the way around results in plots that are partially shifted off the page. Using different values for top, bottom, left and right results in one or two margins coming out much wider than I want. The frustrating part is there seems to be no rhyme or reason between these values and the plot output. The default values are 0.17 for Top/Bottom and 0.25 for Left/Right but even this results in uneven margins. Only if I make the slightest of tweaks can I get any tiny bit of improvement, which is still not up to previous standards. Anything larger and the output is much worse. I've tried all 0.0, setting top/bot only. left/right only, but none of my combinations of values works.
On top of that there seems to be inconsistency between each printer, even when the printer Model is the same. For example the output on my 9050DN printers range from just "Decent but not like before" to plain "awful". My older 8150 DN models look the best but still do not match previous output.
Is there an alternative way to adjust paper margins? Is there a new method to adjusting the "Modify Standard Paper Sizes (Printable Area)" ?
AutoCAD 2010 :: Trueview - Batch PDFs Corrupted Driver
Mar 21, 2012What Acad2010 or Trueview 2012 uses to create it's bacth PDF's? We got a new plotter last week and it seems to have corrupted that driver somehow. We are no longer able to create batch PDF in either Acad or Trueview. We using both Win XP and Win 7 machines. I don't know if the plotter had anything to do with this problem it just seem that this happend the same time as we installed the plotter. I can use a 3rd party PDF maker to make individual PDF but this takes time, the batch PDF is much more useful for me. I'm hoping I can get the generic PDF driver that autocad uses and reinstall that, but I don't know what it is or where I can find it.

Simply say when I change custom printer size at the printer's driver settings and confirm all dialogs nothing happend and LT use default settings. No dialog about new or temporary PC3 appear so looks that ACAD doesnt know about change at the printer driver?
This problem isn't continual but, for example, I printed something from the same dwg twice, but when third one change was set the very problem will appear and ACAD doesn't register changes.

May 29, 2012I just replaced a Windows XP computer & Photoshop lite 5.0 with Photoshop CS6 on a Windows 7 PC, but the TWAIN driver (64-bit) from the Canon website doesn't show up in Photoshop CS6. The CanoScan LiDE 500F scanner worked fine before, but how do I make it all work with Windows 7 and CS6?

Aug 14, 2013Using Wacom Bamboo CTL-460 on my i Mac and have noticed strange Photoshop CC (and CS6) behavior since the first beta of OSX 10.9 Mavericks. After a couple of actions with brushes, colors, moving layers and zooming in/out, my PS gets stuck. It shows brush tool, which can move, but I can do nothing till I switch to another app and then get back to PS. Shortcuts don't wort either.
There are some messages on Adobe forums about PS shortcuts not working properly on 10.9. I thought it might be a bug in OS with it's all-new memory processing, correlating with PS engine somehow, until I plugged my mouse in... everything worked just fine with it! Double-checked this on i Mac and Mac Book Pro: all the same on both machines.
So Wacom driver is definitely causing the issue. The latest driver update does not solve it.
