Photoshop :: Wacom Driver In CC On OSX 10.9 Mavericks
Aug 14, 2013
Using Wacom Bamboo CTL-460 on my i Mac and have noticed strange Photoshop CC (and CS6) behavior since the first beta of OSX 10.9 Mavericks. After a couple of actions with brushes, colors, moving layers and zooming in/out, my PS gets stuck. It shows brush tool, which can move, but I can do nothing till I switch to another app and then get back to PS. Shortcuts don't wort either.
There are some messages on Adobe forums about PS shortcuts not working properly on 10.9. I thought it might be a bug in OS with it's all-new memory processing, correlating with PS engine somehow, until I plugged my mouse in... everything worked just fine with it! Double-checked this on i Mac and Mac Book Pro: all the same on both machines.
So Wacom driver is definitely causing the issue. The latest driver update does not solve it.
I get a LOT of Photoshop CC (64 or 32bit) mouse lag. I do NOT have a wacom tablet or driver (I've searched these forums for solutions). All the other Adobe products work fine.
I'm looking to get a wacom tablet, but I'm not really sure what tablet it best for digital art and animation type stuff. I'll be using it with Photoshop CS6 and probably Toon Boom or some other animation software. I'm just not sure what the difference is between the tablets.
Trying to print from LR 5.3 RC using .icc profile in printer settings in Epson Pro 3800 driver the Color Settings and Color drop downs are disabled???? In other applications these options are enabled and selectable.
I have an English version of Photoshop CS3. Since I upgraded to Mavericks it will not work. It opens, a blank window for the Adobe updater opens and that's it. I can only close them by force closing. Everything is inactive. I can't even access the deactivate or activate menu. I have updated the Jave, repaired, uninstalled, reinstalled, all to no avail.
It's about two days I am experiencing lag problems with Zoom Tool on Photoshop CC. The strange thing is that the problem appears only two days ago, when instead I've installed OSX Mavericks on my machine about two weeks (the day of the Public Release)
You can notice that from the moment I finished drawing the "zoom square" and the real zoom lapse about 1,5s (same thing for the Scrubby Zoom).
I've tried to uninstall and reinstall Photoshop, disable plugins and reset tool preferences but unfortunately with no success.
Here are my specs: Macbook Air Mid 2012 with i5, 8GB Ram, 128GB SSD Photoshop CC 14.0
I don't own Creative Cloud but use OS X 10.6.8 on the i Mac (2011 model) working with previous versions of Adobe CS products ( Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) for my creative work.
Will these software applications work with the latest OS X Mavericks without any hiccups, even if my system doesn't have any Retina display resolution? I've been considering upgrading to Mavericks but wanted to make sure.
I am having problems with PS CC crashing on Mavericks. I unistalled and re-installed it but it keeps crashing after opening. Here is the craash report:

I use a MacBook Pro running OSX v10.9 with a 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7 and 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3. I use Adobe Photoshop CS5 and Adobe Illustrator CS6.
After installing Mavericks last night, I spent a couple hours figuring out that I had to install a Java update and delete my Astute plug-ins for illustrator. Photoshop worked fine (no plug-ins are used). After deleting the old plug-ins, installing the available updates from a Astute's website and restarting the computer, Illustrator was back up and running.
I quit both programs for an hour or so, came back and tried reopening each. Photoshop will no longer open. An error message says "could not initialize program" and shuts it down. Illustrator appears to start but will not open existing or new files.
When restarted in safe mode, each program works properly. What can I do to make them work in normal mode? Is there a way to find out what non-default extensions or plug-ins are preventing my programs from working properly?
After updating to Mavricks I revieve an error opon using Photoshop CC. It will allow me to open photoshop and just keep it open, however when I create a new file and start to work it will crash.

I have upgraded my OX to MAvericks and now I can't use my droplets.
They are all saved and I have hundreds of images in seperate folders that my droplet would open, turn to CMYK and save in the same file but as a TIFF. Job was great and saved me tons of time.
But I can't do that now - or can I? How to get this working again or if there's a new way of doing it?
I got error when save for web all time. Error message is: Adobe Save for Web error "Could not complete this operation. An unknown error has occured."in my MAC OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) and also got error when save is..
Is this reported error? How can I solve?Below is my system info.

I have two Macs, a late 2012 MacBook Pro and a 2009 iMac, both installed with Creative Cloud and running Mavericks. The MBP is doing great. No issues whatsoever, and it is my main machine these days.
However, Photoshop CC is crashing on launch on the iMac every time. I can't use it at all there. Here is the top of the crash log, leaving off everything from "Binary Images:" on...

I'm having trouble with Photoshop CS6 in Mavericks. After a working a little while, all pop up/drop down menus goes blank. They still work, but I can't see what's on them. Even the Apple menu bar is afflicted by this, though only when Photoshop is in the front.
PS: I do use a cintiq on a 2012 Macbook Pro 15" with retina display.
Using Adobe Creative Cloud since upgrading to Mavericks? I have a Mac Pro at work and everything runs smoothly on that but my 2nd license on my home iMac doesn't work properly. Photoshop won't open and constantly freezes, dreamweaver won't open at all and Premiere is hit and miss whether it opens or not. Creative cloud isn't cheap it should work by now!
Ever since I loaded Mavericks on my APPLE I can not open a file from any file. So if I go to file open it won't open I get a message saying: "Could not complete your request because of a program error."
I can however pull the file from the desk top and drag it on to the Photoshop icon and it will open.I also can not save files to any folder. I have to save it to a desktop then move it into the folder.
Photoshop CC, on my MacBook Pro Retina (Iris Graphics). The text disappears, erases basically, whenever I change the font or size. Every single action with text I have to undo. Change font, disappears/erases, undo etc. Happens regardless what font or size.
Also the performance is very poor, doubting it's optimised for Mavericks.
I just replaced a Windows XP computer & Photoshop lite 5.0 with Photoshop CS6 on a Windows 7 PC, but the TWAIN driver (64-bit) from the Canon website doesn't show up in Photoshop CS6. The CanoScan LiDE 500F scanner worked fine before, but how do I make it all work with Windows 7 and CS6?
I just loaded CS3 Photo Shop and Illustrator onto my new 15" Retna MacBook Pro running Mavericks. The programs begin to start up but get hung up at the splash screen.
There's nothing I can do except Force Quit the application. All of the top menu items are grayed out rendering the programs useless.
I've attached a screen shot of what it looks like when Photo Shop loads. How do I resolve this? I've let the applications just sit for over 20 minutes but nothing happens. They're just stuck.
On Mavericks. I'm getting white blank dialog boxes in Photoshop CC. Doesn't happen right away. It lets me work for a limited time then I get the blank boxes and can only Force Quit. I don't use Suitcase but I do have a Wacom. iMac.
The problem is every time a file dialog is displayed (like, file/open or file/place) I immediately termintaes with the "Could not complete your request because of a program error." message. Nothing in the logs or console messages.I contacted support, but they were apparently reading from a script - they had me change /Library (not ~/Library, but /Library) to global read+write - NFW. I did it temporarily and it still didn't work.
I believe my issue stems fromt he fact that my user account was created years ago, back when the default user group (its gid) = its uid. When I look in Users/Groups, it shows "staff" (which is gid 20), but the directory (and I assume its execute permissions) is set to 502, same as the uid. I tried to change the directory group ownership (the entire /User tree for this user) to gid 20, but it still wouldn;t work.
Since it works for the other user (created in Mountain Lion), I assume it must be related to this legacy permissions situation, but I can;t figure out what I need to change. CC loads, and I can load a file from Lightroom, but it will not display the file dialog.
I subscribe to Digital Photo magazine, from England. They supply a CD with every issue. I attempted to read in a .jpg file directly in the PSE 12 editor. PSE consistently crashes as soon as I start the process. I tried the same process on PSE 10 and 11 with the same result. I then took the CD on my Windows 7 system, which also has the save versions of PSE. On Windows 7 the process works without a hitch.
Workaround. If I import the file from the CD while in PSE 12 organizer, highlight the file and then invoke the editor, it works fine. I do NOT want to use a workaround. This should work AND in no event should the system crash.
NOTE: I have submitted the crash reports to both Apple and Adobe without getting any response.
Not sure how this happened, but the top of my Elements 11 Organizer screen is off of the top of my desktop screen (OS Mavericks). I cannot resize or get to the minimize button to fix. I am stuck only seeing the bottom of the Organizer Screen. Organizer (which I use VERY OFTEN) is renedered useless until I can get a resolution to this.
Photoshop Elements 12 opens with the top portion of the window not available on my Mavericks desktop. Without access to the top bar of the window I'm unable to reposition the window. Rebooting the computer and re-starting the program doesn't reset its position. The top of the window is not visible on a secondary monitor either.
I just installed Photoshop CC v14.1.2 x64 on a box and it grumbles at me when I launch the program. It says "Photoshop detected an error in your display driver. Update or reinstall the driver and check Use Graphics Processor to retry."
Checking the graphics driver it is indeed up to date.
Setup: Win7 Pro 64 bit Video cards: mv video hook driver2 (disabled) Nvidia Quadro K4000, v9.18.13.2902
The graphics options in Photoshop are simply greyed out.
