I am having some trouble with plotting DWG to PDF - I can plot the files to my C Drive I cannot write the files to our work network drive It comes up with the following message - 'Invalid file. Please verify the correct path was given.' I cannot work out how to change the path or why it has suddenly started having this problem.
It is very frustrating having to plot them to the C Drive and then transfer them to our network drive.
I was wondering if there was an option to set Inventor to display the full file path for the current file open ? At present I am only seeing a short description of the name of the active file - I wish to see it's full file path similar to what AutoCAD displays.

Is it possible in Lightroom to automatically append/prepend directory names in the file path into the file name itself? Example:
DirectoryA Sub-directoryB filename.jpg (original file name)
==>
DirectoryA Sub-directoryB DirectoryA_Sub-directoryB_filename.jpg (concatenated new file name)
If this is not natively possible within Lightroom, any plug-in that delivers this functionality?
I'm new to scripting What I want to do and don't know how to go about it is to run a script that collects the saved file name and the full path where the file is saved on the network and displays it on my document.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter finally getting X6 to be stable and usable I have two things I'd like to mention..
First, I've been using a 3rd party file manager called Ztree for years and one of its most wonderful capabilities is to copy paths to the clipboard which alleviates opening/saving frustrations with the typical Windoze Explorer dialogs. Anyway, one of the first problems I noticed with X6 is that Paste no longer works in the Open Drawing dialog, while it worked just fine in X5 and as far as I can remember, all previous versions. I sure would like to get that back.
My second complaint is the File/Export routine and specifically the presets. I do a lot of exporting to PNG and JPG and use multiple presets for fixed size/print resolution image output in both file formats. During the typical export session, I essentially export multiple different drawings all of which are exactly the same size/resolution in CD and in the past (X4 and prior as I recall,) was able to just hit <Enter> when the Export dialog appeared once the preset was set to the one I needed for that session.
In X6 though (and to some degree in X5,) even though the correct preset is listed, CD doesn't appear to recognize it, i.e., the math for the size/dpi conversion doesn't take place which forces me to waste time selecting "Original" or some other preset first, waiting for CD to render the new version, and THEN selecting the conversion preset that was pre-selected when I first opened the export dialog.
I added a FILE PATH label on my titleblock but when I load it to my project file it does not show. Why it does not show, I added a new lable for CLIENT NAME it showed fine. Just to test it out I changed the lable of the second one to FILE PATH and the first one that I did to CLIENT NAME. When I loaded it to my project, the second label dissappeared and the first lable now shows.

Is it number of directories deep or overall number of characters in the entire path that's the issue?
I am trying to write a standard scrpit file for a data extraction using -EATTEXT. I plan for others to use this script file on different computers, so I will not be able to put in a full file path; it will need to remain relative. Unfortunately, AutoCAD will not recognize a relative file path entered into the command line for -EATTEXT.

I have found the files in the "c:userspublicautodeskenviroments" folder but why Inventor cant see them?I have looked in "App options" in the "file" tab and in the project file and I cant see any pathing options that relate to the enviroments?
The default images for textures and bumpmaps are all found OK just not the IBL files? How I can set the path to these enviroment images?
In older versions of ACAD you could set Project File Search Path; I see in my new copy of ACAD LT 2103 there is no longer a Project File Search Path line in the Options/Files tab-is it still possible to set the project file search path?

I need to capture a portion of a file path that is in the middle of the entire path.
For example
C:Vault WorkspaceEngineering810810-050000Model
I just want to capture the 810-050000 part. The portion before that may be different lengths, the Model portion will always be the same.
I would like to add at the top of my drawing border the file path for that CAD drawing.

This is something that I have seen in my previous employers drawing sheets but I would now like to add one to my own sheet.
I have looked into Plot Stamp command but this just seems to give me options for the date or tab name and not where the drawing is saved.
A part of an application I'm writing involves detaching a specific xref of known filename and path from an open drawing. I'm having a surprising amount of trouble figuring out how to do this or finding any examples "out there" (A'desk forum, the googles, A'desk developer's guide). I have the code for attaching an xref, but detaching is presenting unexpected problems.

The individual drawings show the full path name once they're open, can the same be achieved with the Open Drawing window?
After setting the Application Options-File tab paths to our company standard and manually restarting IV the paths all revert to "%PUBLIC DOCUMENTS % default paths. Our IT guy is having the hardest time tracking down the root cause, Both users are on stand alone licenses.
1. Where does IV pick up these default file paths? Can I modify that .xml manually as a workaround?
2. How to identify the folders to look for that don't have adequate red-write permissions?
