AutoCad :: Polyline Join Doesn't Want To Join With Arc?
Jan 3, 2012Drawing: line, arc, line.
arc was defined with line's end points and radius, so I'm positive that this drawing is continuous.
Steps I take:
pedit
click
do you wish to turn into polyline
y
j
Select objects: 1 found
Select objects: 1 found, 2 total [enter]
Select objects:
0 segments added to polyline
[enter]
I had no problem turning other arcs into polyline...

Jun 21, 2013The command to JOIN two overlapping anchor points as a SMOOTH join is not working (at least, on Mac).
"The join option only results in a corner join regardless of whether you select anchor points to join or the entire path. However, for overlapping anchor points, if you want the option to select a smooth or corner join, then use Ctrl+Shift+Alt+J (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+Option+J (Mac OS)."

Jul 12, 2012how to add a path to a projects? We got a directory for single part, another one for assemblies and another one for assemblies of assemblies. When I make projects assembly, I need to bring parts for another directory and everytime i do this I need to resolve links.

Jul 6, 2012I am using inventor 2012 but i am not using Vault, I try to understand how to combine or merge many projects together. I got a retraction system that is one project with his own content center, then i got a hood that is another project with his own content center.
Since im going to create many different retraction system and many different hood in the future, to be used in many different combinations. I want to be able to create a master project that includes smaller projects so i can still work all the projects independently.

Jun 19, 2013I have been working on this previous project "A" and I realized a few custom frame profile such as Bosch Strut and Din rails. Now I am done with project "A" and I am moving onto a new project we are going to call project "B". In this new project "B" I setup all my libraries as I would normally do, but once I start creating frames, I do not see any of the custom frame profile from my past project "A" even though I added my libraries, which are identical from project "A" to "B".

Sep 6, 2013I downloaded Inventor 2014. My O/S is Windows 7 Ultimate. In the projects folder there is supposed to be Projects called iLogic 2011 Samples, iLogic 2011 Tutorials, iLogic 2012 Samples, Railing iLogic Sample Advanced, and Railing iLogic Sample Base. None of these PROJECTS show up in my projects editor. Do I have to completely uninstall and reinstall Inventor 2014 to get these projects to hopefully load?

(I'm talking about colinear lines with the ends touching - I want to convert two lines into one).
It may seem trivial, but I'd like to use these lines in frame generator to select by a single line and not by endpoints of two different lines. Less clicks and more consistency in my model.

When I go to the project settings and select the configure content center libraries icon, click on the drop down icon of the same name, click the icon, no library window appears. It was working before, but not now, it selects but will not click to produce the library window. All my libraries files are in the same locations as far as application options & projects environmebnt are concerned.I tried running AIP as admin and not admin.

Jan 6, 2012I am trying to join two parts in their flat pattern state - either in the drawing or physically.
these two curved parts are adjacent but have different unfolding strategies so Inventor makes me seperate them. I would like to cut these parts out on my cnc as one piece - but I am having difficulty accurately joining these parts.
(one is a curved part & one is a twist - both can generate a flat pattern)
I can make drawing views of both parts in their flat pattern state but I don't know how to (or even if it is possible) to connect these two parts and export them like one piece. I have tried to export to .dxf & then import into a new part file - but that was a big mess.
I can import the .dxf into ACAD & then join them but I would like to keep as much in Inventor as possible.

Jan 13, 2014I am totally new to Inventor. I have a lot of experience in Illustrator and Photoshop; what I want to do is possible in those programs, but I have not figured out how to do it in Inventor.
Essentialy, I want to make a closed path from a spline and a straight line— this will become a custom shape that I want to turn into a solid. Is it possible or should I just use the split feature?
In the end, I am trying to make a solid that is similar to a section of this necklace, minus the curved portion that connected them to the necklace, itself.

Jun 29, 2011I am working on batch processes and have some files with Embedded VBA Projects. This has spread to several files now because of our work flow - open an old file, save with a new name. Attached is the dialog that is displayed when the files are opened in the editor. I would like to "extract" the embedded macros in .NET. They do not need to be there and they interupt the batch processes. I know I could un-check the "Always ask before opening projects with macros" but I would rather extract / remove them.

Jun 28, 20133 lines. 2 arcs. All coplanar, all meet end-to-end.
I set "Units/precision" to 0.00000000 and inspected them. They are all x=0 for each endpoint, therefore coplanar. I also did a point "ID" command and checked each endpoint approaching from both sides and confirmed that each pair of results was identical, so all the ends meet exactly.
I was under the impression that Join or at least PEDIT should be able to combine coplanar lines/arcs that all meet end to end into a polyline. Also, using the Express Tool's "FLATTEN" command doesn't work.
The reason I'm doing this is because I've drawn lines/arcs that trace along the midpoint of a sheet metal's material thickness, and this sheet metal has two bends in it and isn't flat anymore, so converting the lines/arcs to a single polyline will tell me how long the flat plate needs to be that will be ordered to create it.
