Since im going to create many different retraction system and many different hood in the future, to be used in many different combinations. I want to be able to create a master project that includes smaller projects so i can still work all the projects independently.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Using Custom Frame Profiles In Different Projects

Jun 19, 2013

I have been working on this previous project "A" and I realized a few custom frame profile such as Bosch Strut and Din rails. Now I am done with project "A" and I am moving onto a new project we are going to call project "B". In this new project "B" I setup all my libraries as I would normally do, but once I start creating frames, I do not see any of the custom frame profile from my past project "A" even though I added my libraries, which are identical from project "A" to "B".

AutoCAD Inventor :: How To Create Path (from Sktech3D) As In Input To Add Using Path

Feb 9, 2012

Actually, I have more than 6 years experience on Catia V5 customization and vb and vb.net catia API's. What I am trying to do know is converting some applications or programs running on catia to the inventor.

The first program deal with the inventor API relating to the SweepFeatures class. So my first problem is about to find the right way to use the sketch3D for the creation of  the path which is the input of the sweep method.

(oInvPartFeats.SweepFeatures.AddUsingPath(oInvProfile, oInvProfPath3D, kNewBodyOperation).

I know That is possible to create a path by using the CreatePath method when the input is SketchLines or any guide curve in the 2D Plan. Also, I tried to generate path by using the ProfilePath3D method of the sketch3D class but No way, the AddUsingPath  method of the SweepFeatures Class  doesn't accept it as path Input.

So I cannot imagine that is limitation of inventor because it was possible to do it by using the seep function of the model tab in the ipart document. How to create the path object as an input of the AddUsingPath  method of the SweepFeatures class.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Map Path Of An Object

I am currently needing to map the path of an object which undergoes quite a complicated movement path during the operation of the machine.  Is there a way for Inventor (or anything else within the Autodesk 2013 design package) to automatically map the path this object takes during its movement?

If not, are there any recommendations on how to map the path easily and accurately?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Is It Possible To Sweep A Solid Along A Path

Jan 24, 2012

Is it possible to sweep a solid along a 3d sketched line path to cut a groove / slot? This is like milling a slot in material on a milling machine so the cutter goes along a path removing material.

I can draw a rectangle that represents the side plane of a slot type cutter and this works but in the corners it is not working like a round cutter and leaves sharp corners which then need filleting to finish, but also I am not sure if it is cutting exactly as if a solid round/cylinder cutter would.

There also might be an easier way I couldn't find while searching.

This is the example code that seems to be able to do loads of things including get the full path, if you know what you're doing.
