I have created an assembly then the positional representations . When I want to animate them according to the process , the assembly Positional representation does not animate.

Have a fairly simple banner ad created in Mac OS. Previews fine locally. Previews fine in Safari on Mac as standalone file and dropped in to iframe on Wordpress page (just like a Nivo slider on same page. Also previews in Safari using IE user agent string. When viewed in any browser on Windows OS, no animation display; either as standalone or loaded into iframe. Possibly something simple: a CSS visbility? URL....
View 3 Replies View Relatedi just made an animation. basicly it works like an flip book. i have 30picture laying on top of each other and turn them on after each other( it´s in a symbol).
my problem is that it run not smoth enougt. it seems like it´s too much datasize for edge. sometimes it just stops an one picture for a moment and it seems like the stage has to load the other pictures before continuing.
is there a code to preload the animation? or is there anyway to get it smooth?
I have a problem with a recently downloaded version of Inventor. When I start a new drawing all I get is a blank blue screen instead of one with a grid display. If I start a line I can see the cursor change to draw the line but a line does not appear. I don't know if it something with how I installed the program or just system settings.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a simplistic model (4 parts, 10 or so screws) that I am trying to render an animation through using Studio with the lowest possible output settings, my concern is that the render time is extraordinary long even for the most basic of assembly, why is this ? I have also tried the animate when in an IPN file which does improve render time but the quality is not very good.
I will now try using keyframe animation in Showcase to see if I can get an animation with good quality completed within the hour !
Is there such thing or add-on, that would accumulate time worked on a assembly / part?

When i try and animate it i have trouble getting the pump to move. When trying to animate constraints it doesn't like it and parts move about all over the place. I've also tried animating parts and this doesn't work either.

I have an assembly that changes daily and drawings made at each step of the way using .dwg format. The problem is, that when I add something to the assembly, it addes it to the drawings already made and as a result losses dims and notes that I made. Is there a way to set the dwgs so that all new items added to the model automaticly are no visible in the drawings that were already created. I spend a lot of time changing old drawing to what they used to be.

-The codec you selected to compress this AVI video stream cannot handle the current screen color depth and/or the graphics frame size. Please try another codec.
-Then I press OK and it records but the AVI file is empty and no video is watchable.

I'm using Autodesk Inventor 2012 ans a windows 7 64bit brand new computer with Nvidia graphic card.
I have an assembly inside of Inventor Studio. One of the parts inside of the assembly has a parameter that I would like to animate. When I select the "Parameters" function within the "Animate" tab on the ribbon, I get an error:
"There are no favorite parameters defined."
This worked fine when I tried the same thing with only the part inside of Inventor Studio, but not when the part is included inside of an assembly.
I noticed when creating assemblies, applying a positional constraint, the parts don't move. In order to get the parts to "move" to their constrained position I have to try and drag them with the mouse then they snap into place. Also updating the assembly works as well.
What setting could I have changed so that once I press apply on a constraint it moves the part immediately?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have a data folder on the server mapped as network drive to the clients. The data folder contains all cad data stored from productstream professional.
Due to an over 10 year old environment the data folder contains a huge amount of cad files, library parts, iParts and so on.
Due to historical growth of the environment there are some missing parts (not available on the file system anymore), because they were deleted, are corrupt, and so on. At the root of the data folder there is located the typical cmpinv11.ipj inventor project file.
If you open an assembly either from productstream or via inventor (without productstream) directly from the data folder and the assembly has an unresolved child component because the file isn't there anymore it takes a very very long time until the dialog box for unresolved link comes up (waiting time several minutes 1...10min). Once reached this point one can skip and repair the assembly, of course.
But the question is, how to speed up the time for getting the unresolved link dialog?
The network connection itself is quite OK und the project file itself is also OK. The project file list of every user is pretty small (only cmpinv11.ipj and some standard ipj's).
We think inventor internally scans the whole project-file folders to ensure that the component is really missing but due to the huge environment this takes many minutes and is annoying.
Any bypass for that? Is it possible to apply a temporär setting before opening a potential inconsistent assembly? Or is there a setting like skip unresolved components by default or by a defined timeout?
Because it is Inventor 2010 (Productstream PRO 210) there is no File open Option Auto-Skip unresolved components (like in 2012) but even if it was I guess it wouldn't reduce the time to get the dialog either.
There are two cases, that should behave the same, but they don't.
First program works normally. Inventor generates a circular Pattern with the given Part.

Now, the second case, I try to take the Work Axis from a Part, that is placed in the Assembly,
but Inventor does not generate the Pattern. If I set the Axis visible, or even rename it, it works. But the AddCircularPattern does not work.

problem when manually animating a model ratchet and pawl mechanism in an assembly file. One can get the pawl to track the ratchet wheel surface OK but there seems to be nothing to stop the ratchet wheel going in both directions, contrary to real life experience. I have used transitional constraints to link pawl surfaces with ratchet wheel surfaces but there seems to be no drive constraint which will operate in this circumstance.

Only problem is, the assy file (xxx.iam) and all sub-assy files are still linked to the component files in the original location even though the component files were copied to the new location with the P&G command
The whole point in this feature is to make self sufficient copies of something that don't depend on the original data.
This shows the settings I am using It is finding all the files ok. It just doesn't change the relationships on the new iam files. I could manually copy them and do the same thing this feature is doing.
Is there some hidden checkbox I need to find ? Note, I also tried once with "Include linked files" unchecked and got the same result.
I have an iassembly model with iparts in it. I am trying to make one absolutely complete model rather than have several models with redundant parts in it. For example having the full assembly and making a Top Line Drawing from that, but then also making a drawing from the individual components.
So for example I have a Top Line assembly drawing with a tank with all the fittings, gauges, and instrument panels shown. Then I would want to make another set of drawings showing the tank itself, fittings, gauges, and the instrument panel. My main issue is with the tank drawing; the tank drawing is supposed to be simply the tank so I would need to remove the fittings, gauges, instrument panel etc.
I would like to know if there is a way to "Hide" or "Supress" the components that I do not need for a particular drawing without taking them out of the model; yet at the same time removing it from the BOM because they wont be necessary at this level.
Why can't Inventor constrain an ellipsoidal contour with a line? We have pressure cylinders which uses a 2:1 ellipse. These cylinder get welded to a base stand fixture. The surface of the ellipse nestles in between contact points of the base stand, in this case lines of geometry. Yet Inventor can't constrain them as such. Any good workflow (at the assembly level) so that we don't have to ground components and use the Analyze Interference tool to make sure we are right on the surfaces? I don't understand why it will work for a cylindrical surface but not an elliptical surface.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am trying to synch several biped characters to an HD background video I have placed in the environment slot. The problem is that when I scrub the animation slider or hit the play button, Max cannot play the background video in real time. When I hit play, the video remains frozen on whatever frame it was last on, but then updates to the correct frame when I hit the stop button.
It is pretty difficult to get the timing right on the foreground biped animation without a real time background reference. I also tried a lower res version of the background video (standard 720 x 480 DV), but that also does not play in real time. Is there any way to get max to play the background video in sync i.e., updating the frames in real time? Is there a way to improve max performance (ideal settings?)for a background video? Would a Tiff sequence play quicker than a .mpg or .mov files? If so how do set up an .ifl for playing an image sequence?
I have an FDO layer which I am styling like so:

This layer is styled so that all text is centered. In this case, FDO_LAYER2 is having it's text left aligned. I'm pretty sure this is due to the method I am using for a new line. Is there something else I can use to break the line and maintain the center styling?
Using a second point for FDO_LAYER2 is not an option.
I've been working on an animation for a week or two and all of the sudden the file no longer plays the animation. The keyframes are there and I can scrub through them, but when I hit play it just hangs on the frame it's already on, it says it's playing (The icon changes to stop and in the corner it says "Hit ESC to stop playing", but nothing moves. I can bring it into older versions of Maya and it plays, but the only other version of Maya I have is 2008 and it doesn't like the transfer from 2011 to 2008.
