Photoshop :: Copying And Saving A Selection?
Feb 11, 2003I am trying to save a selection from a photo to open in Dreamweaver. I am able to mask the selection and eliminate the background, but when I open up the image in Dreamweaver I have white where the background was. How do I eliminate everything around my selection to have just the selection appear?

Nov 2, 2012I'm trying to take multiple parts of the same type and make them into one .ipt I began doing this and It seemed to be working fine. When I put those grouped .ipts into an .iam, Inventor creates a Subfolder of each .ipt and fills it with each part from that group and now those created ipts are unique unlinked parts (unlinked to the group ipt). I'm trying to reduce our file count and link our .ipts and .idws/.dwgs so this Inventor file creator results in the opposite of what I'm looking for. My question now is is there any way to modify this process to work the way I need it to or is there a completely different way that I should be doing this?

Nov 16, 2012I'm trying to write a routine to work with a non vault revision table. I'm working with Vb .net & Inventor 2012. I am working with sheet scope tables.
From the inventor dialogue box there are two commands to add rows to the table.The insert row command. Which inserts a row in the table.
The add row command which inserts a row set the sheet revision property & sets the new row active.
I have tried to insert a new row with the following code & make it active but this does not work. Is is possible to create a new active row through the api? The new row gets added but cannot get the new row to become the active row.

But using the CTRL + C & CTRL + V for the identical task works fine.
Looks like a bug. It's annoying at worst but hopefully easy for programmers to fix.

Nov 5, 2013I'm trying to use iLogic Design Copy to copy an assembly and all its associated parts to another directory. The assembly contains content center parts. Inventor warns me that the destination file of one of the CC parts (and 18 others) will be overwritten. When I go ahead and copy anyway, the copying process stops at that specific CC part. The Design Copy Progress dialog box states there is an error copying that CC part. When I close the Design Copy Progress dialog box, Inventor crashes.
The error copying the CC part: I'm allowed to use content center parts in iLogic Design Copied stuff, right? I searched some related topics and I'm under the impression that Inventor keeps the CC parts in its own directory and shouldn't be trying to overwrite them.

Feb 5, 2013I am changing the PC on which i store my Vault. i have successfully installed vault server onto the new pc but cannot find a way to migrate the data from the vault on my old PC. I initially tried to restore vault from a backup but this was not successful. Can i just copy and drop the files into the same location on the new pc?

Apr 6, 2012So I make a line and then make an arc on that line. I dimension the arc so that it is 180 degrees and I dimension it with a specific length. I then use the rectangular pattern command to copy multiple arcs onto this line. I now need to trim the bottoms of the arcs away (the parts of the line under each arc) But once I select the trim command I cannot trim this area! The lines I need to trim won't even highlight. It appears they are locked by a dimension made when I copied the arcs across the line. This dimension doesn't appear to be able to be deleted.

Dec 13, 2012When I make a drawing, often times page 1 will be the entire assembly and in subsequent pages (sheets), I will dimension each individual component, etc. In the "Name" field in my title block, I have it grabbing the "Title" and "Subject" iProperties. Just so happens, those fields are ALWAYS the same for each part as it is for the assembly.
What is the best way I can either
A) AUTOMATICALLY copy the "Title" and "Subject" iProperty fields from the assembly to EACH part that makes it up
or even BETTER
B) AUTOMATICALLY copy the "Title" and "Subject" information from sheet 1 to the same place on all subsequent sheets
Or BEST
C) Have the title block template pull that data from the assembly, EVEN IF only a singloe part is on the sheet.

Aug 23, 2011I have made a wood panel with capabilities to be made adaptive but when i place it into a drawing using the place command i cannot seem to copy it any of the different ways without it being attached and/or effecting the original. I would like to refrain from designing a second because there are many panels in each room and it would take a long time. I'm sure I'm just forgetting something simple and it's causing this to occur.

Apr 4, 2013how to copy parts from the existing CC to newly created custom folders within the CC. We are now just starting to look into which parts we want to be in our custom folders moving forward.
Once we copy them over, the plan is to change the descriptions and possibly some dimension values. Because we are in the early stages of revamping our companies part number scheme the thought was to keep the out of the box P/N's currently showing in the family table of these parts. Some of these parts have already been used as "Standard" (not custom) from out of the box in the CC and these said parts have already been checked into the vault. If we are not changing the part numbers in the copied parts family table, is this going to create errors when checking these copied parts into the vault? Part of me is saying I am going to get the "This part already exists in the Vault" error message being they are standard parts But, the other part of me says technically they are different so maybe this wont be an issue. I am looking for confirmation of this.
I also would like to know if it is possible, when you have two separate custom folders in the CC can you copy the same component into both folders changing only slight things.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Copying Files In Vault - Copy Design Alternative?
Mar 5, 2013I have a folder that contains subfolders, then more subfolders. All these folders contain Inventor files. There are few different models there with drawings and related files...
I need to make an exact copy of the folder at different location in Vault. To use Copy Design tool, I would need to do it few times, as there are few totally separate files in the folders.
Now, is there a way of taking main folder with its all contants and just copying/renaming it to other location? It would save me lot of time.

Jun 13, 2012My model is ~1-2MB and I'm trying to 3D print it. I am trying to export it as a .stl file but no matter how I try doing it (going through the print piece flow or export flow), the file is either 84 bytes or 0KB.
Is this a known issue, or am I doing something worng?
I've tried restarting the program/my environment.

Nov 25, 2013But why is it that I can only seem to save an animation in Inventor Studio (2014) as a .wmv (or Windows Media File)? Shouldn't I have the options for saving it as other types such as an .avi or the like?
I could have sworn I was able to in past releases. I should be able to save it as such, so where oh where is the setting that is dictating this?
Note: This animation is a cross section, not a shaded, realistic type with lighting and camera details to worry about.

AutoCAD LT :: Linking Excel And Tables
Aug 1, 2012Well I had a day and a half trying to figure out how to bring Excel data into LT. Again. Here is what I have found out:
Running Excel 2010 I have a xls files (of type '97-2003 xls - file includes VBA). The file spits out a ton of data that I want to put in a schedule in AutoCAD. The schedule format needs to match our standard format - RomanS in white and blue.
If I copy and paste as a link the font remains stuck as Arial (regardless of source font) and can't be relaxed unless you go one cell at a time in the text editor. Also the resultant table size is tiny -
If I save the file to .XLSM (macro enabled '10 excel file) the results are the same. If I save the file to .XLSX ('10 excel file and ditch the VBA project) the results are sublime - the font is ok and I can go back and forth from AutoCAD to my now broken spreadsheet because VBA IS MISSING! The resultant table size is tiny but I can deal. I don't see how AutoCAD can work with xlsx but not xlsm.
I also found that if I save the sheet (values only) as a .csv file I can use that to create a table from file without font overrides screwing everything up.
I'm running AutoCAD LT 32bit on a Win7 32bit OS. My Office version is 2010. I would like to link data to a '97-'03 version of an xls or an xlsm without having the font overridden to Arial.
AutoCAD .NET :: Selecting Tables In A Drawing?

I started with the SS14 code from Jerry Winters VB.NET progamming and modified it to select tables. Unfortunately, when trying to select a table, the code does not work. I tried it with Polylines, block references, Mtext and it worked OK with all of them. See the code below:

AutoCad :: How To Insert Tables From Excel
Sep 17, 2012I am trying to insert tables into AutoCad from excel the problem that I have is with the text style.
Every time I copy and paste as a linked AutoCad entity the text does not come across as the correct text style - for example if I want the table text to come out as ISOCP it comes across in a bolder text, requiring me to enter in the cell and select ISOCP I don't have to highlight the text in the cell i only have to enter inside the cell.
