AutoCAD Inventor :: Rotation - Translation Constraint On Threaded Features

how to make this Clamp Rod to Clamp Base Spacer Turn relationship.
this is from the Clamp Project on this site: Inventor Wizard, The Clamp Lever is turning or rotating the clamp rod into the Clamp Base Spacer but I could not simulate the Thread or the Screw motion if that is the term, or the 1 or 1/2 turn of the Clamp Rod to 1 Pitch movement, plus I can't seem to put the Rod inside the Clamp Base Spacer hole when the Contact Solver is ON, maybe modeling issue on my part.

Here is the issue we have found. While sectioning a view of an assembly in idw, the threaded lines of threaded features have a strange behavior depending on the section line used. I have attached a simple example that shows what he have found. Basically, if the section line is straight, threaded features show correctely. Independent of section participation. If the section has segments at different angles, then lines are not appearing.
The first three views have both parts excluded from section participation(Obviously, there isn't any real life need for this, but I did it to just simplify the illustration without adding a bunch extra parts) The base view is the top view or view showing the round shape. For the first example at the bottom, i simply projected the view to the left and made sure "Threaded Features" was selected. Threaded lines show fine.
Second example is the similiar, except the i used a section view instead of the projected view. Both parts are excluded. Section line is straight. Verticle in this example. Doesn't have to vertical as the line is straight.
Next example is similiar to the second, only difference is the section is not straight. You can see the threaded lines do not show. This is the problem we want to solve. How to make the threaded lines display!!!
Last example shows the same section, only this time the component is included in the section participation. And it works.
Any settings to change or a trick to make it work. Otherwise, i think i need to issue a support request with autodesk.

I have Autodesk inventor standard NOT the pro version. I am a Revit professional in dire need of learning Inventor. My exact steps are as follows:
1. Open assembly
2. create component - (simple wheel(cylinder) with an off axis hole in the middle so I can see if it is rotating.)
3. create component- flat surface.
4. constrain the cylinder to the flat surface via a tangent constraint
5. constrain the cylinder to the front edge of the flat surface via a mate constraint.
6. go to motion tab in constraint's, click rotation-translation, type in 10in for distance.
7.wheel does not rotate on surface like a wheel should. There is no affect of the surface on the wheel rotation.
In other words I want to get the circumference of the wheel to rotate 360 degrees as it travels pi*diameter of flat surface.

Pt# 812 (From my drawing)
N: 2004294.63
E: 6057287.18
Pt# 715 (Stake point from a DXF file)
N: 254.39
E: 218.59
I built my drawing from the civils. I wanted to check the points that the surveyors are staking with a DXF file. As you can see from the above two points, our coordinates were wildly different. I brought the DXF file into my drawing as a block, and translated and rotated it to match my drawing. I had to drag it several miles, but no problem there.I imported the as-staked point file to a new group and dragged them up near my drawing, but the drawing was getting a bit crowded by then. So I made a block of all the imported points to make it easier to translate and rotate them to match my drawing and the overlayed DXF. After exploding the block of points, the points showed up in the new group. Anyhow, here's my questions:
1. How do you renumber(offset number) imported points? The option I saw was only for duplicate points. I wanted to offset them all.
2. How do you translate and rotate a large bunch of points without turning them into a block?

I am animating a ball right now, that is rolling all over the place. Would be cool to animate just the translation of an object and not to worry about rotation. Is there a way? Like.. through the expressions or set driven key? Also would be even better if rotation speed increased as the movement speed did.

My current goal is to specify the rotation and translation of an object using a text file full of numbers. I have been told that I should import a "move" file. However, I can't seem to find any kind of reference about the move file format or how to use it. I see in the import dialog box that there is a file type called "move" but I don't know how to format the data that I put into the "move" file.
Also, I tried to export a "move" file so I could take a look at what Maya generates, but I keep getting the error "// Error: Could not save file "C:/My Documents/maya/projects/body_in_ocean/scenes/examplemove.mov".
I created a group with my object in one file, referenced it in my working file, moved the group around and set some keys in the working file, but I can't seem to export any move data. How to get this to work?

I have been trying unsuccessfully for several days to achieve a stable setup for the attached. This is the closest I have been able to get so far but as you can see if you change the width then the rotation parameter, the stability of the block very quickly breaks down.
The problem seems to be associated with the move action which determines the center point of the angle parameter. It seems to only work properly when you change the width parameter and the rotate handle is in the 180deg. Any other position of the angle parameter results in incorrect alignment of the geometry.

I am designing a vertical axis wind turbine just for some practice (just started using Inventor) and everything was going smoothly until I tried to "animate" it spinning. First, I set up a work plane that goes through the center of the structure, and then I clicked angle constraint "explicit reference vector." After watching several youtube videos, I figured that I should click on the work plane, click on another reference point, and then click another point that would be orthogonal to those two (right?). Well after I choose the first point, Inventor will only allow me to choose the center axis as the second option (which I think should be the third option).

Is there a way to tell Inventor to use the mean value for threaded holes? As it is IV always puts the Minor-min value for the hole size, which is a PITA for any and all CAM software.
The thread data can be extracted in CAM, but the hole size still remains what it's modeled as. I know I can edit the spreadsheet and cheat it, but that isn't exactly the correct way to go about it.

I understand the process of splitting faces and applying a Bonded Contact between the split faces when you have a bolted connection with a nut, but what kind of contacts would you use for say a threaded connection? For example, suppose you have a plate that will be bolted to a mold. The plate has clearnace holes for said bolts and so that the bolts are threaded into the mold to be lifted. The plate has a threaded hole for the lifting mechanism (Swivel Hoist Ring). Finally, the desired load is applied to the Swivel Hoist Ring and the bolts are placed in pre-tension. I would like to simulate this via FEA but am getting tripped up in the contacts. Also I am trying to make it as simple and efficient as possible (by eliminating any bolts or other parts that are not needed). I use INV Pro 2014.

When I run an interference check on an assembly, any of the threaded holes that have fasteners in them shows interference. I guess that the problem arises from the document setting "Tapped Hole Diameter" is set to minor.
To solve the problem with the interference, I could either change the modeled size of the hole or change the modeled bolt diameter. Either one causes problems in other places.

I have a part I am trying add a threaded hole to. The option for threaded holes is unselectable. I tried editing the registry as past posts have said, but the "parts" folder doesnt show up in the registry. I have been through every folder in the registry and dont see anything that has to do with threaded holes.

We have a minor issue with STEP translations. We keep our templates on the network, and they have a lot of customized settings. Everything is fine until we try to translate a STEP file, then Inventor wants to use the templates on the "C" drive (the ones that came with the software).
Is there a setting I can use to make Inventor use the templates on the network? I've got my "Files" setting in the "Options" pointing to the templates on the network, but Inventor still uses the ones on the "C" drive.

I am trying to model simple translation piece from rectangular to circle (one quarter). There is angle between rectangular side and circle side. I am able to model it very simple, but I have found that Inventor make some errors with lofted flange. Usually this type of translation piece should have flat triangles on the ends and bended triangles in corner. Unfortunately for some combinations of width/depth/diameter Inventor does not keep this rule and add some bended triangle to end edge.
Enclosed is pdf file with picture how this part should look, what is the problem and finally the ipt file is enclosed too. The part is OK with parameter SizeY=250mm and less and is wrong for bigger SizeY (for example 600mm)

We want to use dual dimensions for holes and figured out how to do this by editing the styles. This works great except for threaded holes the dual dimension is redundant as shown in the picture.
Is there a way to not have the dual dimension for threaded holes but keep them for other holes? Having a dual dimentsion for a metric thread or having it printed twice on the drawing is pointless.

Maybe I've just been doing it wrong for the last 5 years, but the Angle constraint is obnoxiously unpredictable. When I constrain a part in an assembly with an angle constraint from the assembly origin plane (or anything else), Inventor always has two solutions; a positive and negative.
Is there something I'm missing here, or is just a design flaw we have to live with?

I am making a template file having title block with fields. I use this template for creating layouts and sheets using Sheet Set Manager and the fields will be updated from the data of SSM. Now i would like to add a dynamic north block to my template. The block could be rotated (i have this block in file itself) and rotation angle could be inserted. Now how can i add a custom field to SSM so that i could set a rotation angle for the project and thus every new layout or sheet created using the template has the north block rotated with the angle mentioned in SSM.
Here is the file...........

I have a question regarding a transitional constraint between a pin and a surface within an adaptive assembly.
I would like the pin and the surface to be transitional only when the two parts "interfere" with each other.
At the moment with the example attached part A is remaining tangent to part B, restricting the necessary movement of part B to function properly in the mechanism.
In simplified terms I need part B to be able to break free of the "transitional constraint" of part A under certain movement conditions within the mechanism.

I have noticed what I consider a bug in AI2009. When trying to delete a coincident constraint using the show constraint command, it is impossible to do so. All other constraints I can delete while I am in the "show constraints" dialog box, but not coincident constraints. As soon as I get out of the "Show constraints" command, the yellow dots are still showing and I can then hover over them and they highlight so I can delete them. Is this how it was intended or should I be able to delete them like the others while still in the "show constraints" command?
