View 4 Replies View RelatedIn an assembly, is there a way to pattern a component in the X, Y and Z directions? I need to make a certain number of components, and each instance changes by the same delta x y and z. The dialog box will only show me column and row options.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI suppose it's a bug, and I wonder how can it be fixed:
If you edit attribute settings in a dynamic block, and put:
Constant: yes
Lock position: no
You can't neither change the position in the Model, nor edit text. I suppose that with this two settings selected the way showed above, one should be able to move the attribute in Model space.
I'm reconstructing an old document originally developed with PageMaker. I've recreated a half dozen pages hopefully with more uniform techniques. The original line art for the pages was created in AutoCad and some were scans. To bring them into InDesign some of the art is now in psd format and some of the newer art is in Illustrator AI format.
I've noticed that the pages with photoshop art print pretty quickly (about 30 seconds). The ones with Illustrator art take much longer (about 1:30 seconds). They go through a flattening process.
I print these 50 page books on demand and that additional time would add about an hour.
I guess the question is whether this is normal and to be expected or not. If it is I'll likely turn everything into raster before going into InDesign. That, however, seems like quite a bit of extra work. Going from AutoCad to Illustrator (to add stroke) then to PhotoShop to change to raster and then into InDesign seems like a pretty convoluted work flow.
Placed images cannot be moved or transformed, at least initially. I am finding that after a period of time passes (half minute or more), the image is sometimes 'released' and is then transformable. But it can take a couple of minutes.

is it possible to restore an associative link? I have a model that is being run by ilogic rules and everytime i run the model a invisible part in the assembly is still visible in de drawing. i can manually restore this by RM-->subassembly--> representation--> and then switch it to associative again, but i want it to just do it automatically.
ia also tried to do it with de following code but it doesn't seem to have effect.
''------------------------------------------------ThisApplication = InventorVb.ApplicationDim oDoc As Document = ThisDoc.DocumentDim oCompDef As Inventor.ComponentDefinition = oDoc.ComponentDefinitionDim oCompOcc As Inventor.ComponentOccurrenceFor Each oCompOcc in oCompDef.OccurrencesoCompOcc.SetDesignViewRepresentation("Default",True)NextRuleParametersOutput() ' use this before DocumentUpdateInventorVb.DocumentUpdate() ' Update now
it will run okay but the sub-assembly still doesn't switch to associative or it switches back after the update?
there must be a way to just simply put the associative link back on.
ps: in the .idw the associative link is enabled but the subassembly is missing his link to the main assembly.
I have a DWG with some links to images on. I would like to remove these links but am having a bit of a hard time.
See attached screenshot of the missing images.
I have tried to use 2 different macro's to remove these but it appears these are not OLE objects (which the macro's remove).
There is no delete menu item when you right click on the image like either.
I have a 3D part, which I want to scale down to 0.5 the size in X and Y direcions, but I don't want to scale it down in Z direction.
Is this even possible? How do I go about doing it?
I am running Inventor 2008 and have recently created a few models. All of the models I have created have been linked to external spreadsheets at the part and assembly levels. Everything for a complete model is in a single folder, the spreadsheet and all parts, assemblies and drawings. With my previous models I was taking the entire folder and copying it to new locations to make slightly different models. When I would do this all the links of the copied parts were pathing to the copied spreadsheet, not the original, which is what I want. With my most recent model the copied parts are still pathing to the original spreadsheet.
P.S.: I tried to get around this by doing a pack and go and ended up with the same issue.
Using IV2012 SP1, I needed to generate a bracket that had has silkscreen graphics on it. So in the part file I started a sketch/insert image and using the decal command projected it onto the desired face. The image is a BMP file that is 5meg in size. It took me several attempt to get this right and all appears to be good. But upon completing this very simple part I noticed the file was 48meg! I went into “links” and I noticed that the BMP file was shown 7 times. The BMP file is showing “yes” under “resolved” for one instance and “no” for the other 6 instances. I can only “break link” one instance but can do nothing with the other. I’ve deleted the decal and stated over but it still shows up with the 7 instances.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm creating temp projects out the wazoo. There are so many unresolved projects that Inventor's window to "Click okay and stop searching for these projects window" is longer than my two widescreens can display stacked on top of each other in portrait view...
Is there any way to manually clear the projects list?

So I made a shop drawing of an assembly, which is very complex and took a great deal of time to complete. It has 3 sheets and a bunch of different views and information already on the drawing.
Now the thing is I took the assembly and made it an iassembly; but I did this in another file so I wouldnt screw up all the work I did before. Now I realize that I dont have the links to the shop drawing that I wish I did.
how to link the shop drawing to the new iassembly model?
I have an svg layer in the shape of a bird and a background sky. I want my animation to load and then the user be able to drag the bird around the touch screen on a defined but hidden path.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm making a parametric block consisting of a rectangle with a hole in the center. What I want to do is array the hole both Left & Right directions. Is this possible?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have drawn a simple block that I want to stretch in two directions manually or from the properties palatte.
My block works fine once and then breaks down. Stretch the block in the 'Y' direction. Deselect the block. Stretch the block again and only the grip moves. Edit the block and close the block, the block resets.
See attached DWG. Two offset arrows.
This works as long as it is not rotated, but distorts if rotated and then stretched.
I'm using ACAD2006.
I have a dynamic block for HSS column. Previously it was always 1"x1" and I would just scale it to the proper column size I needed. Ignoring the wall thickness.
But if there was an asymmetrical HSS (i.e. 4x6) the wall thicknesses and radii of corners would look funny.
So now I want one that has Stretch Actions to change the size of the column. I added a Stretch to one side, then the other with distance multiplier of -1. But as you can see on the attached, the Linear Parameter baseline doesn't stretch. I want to have the Parameter Distance the actual full width of the column so I can change the columns with the Properties Palette. Otherwise, I would just start the Parameter from the center of the column.
The classic example of this, is a plan view of a door which shows you the opening, the arc and the door. How can I put a stretch on the opening and the door with a link in between, so when you stretch one, the other stretches with the same value?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to do a dynamic block of a stretchable window frame. One that isn't a rectangle. It could be stretched from 3 corners to all directions. The fourth corner being the base point.
The frame would consist of 2 "rectangles", with a 20millimeter gap between the lines. The problem is that i haven't figured out any way to to keep the distance between the lines constant as the corners are stretched.
I have tried using variations of Polar and XY-parameters with Strecth-actions with no luck.
I am working with a client who works in CATIA V5 and I am in Autocad 2012. Is there any software out there that can accurately convert, in both directions, both 2D and 3D drawings?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have attached my attempted block, all I want to do is stretch one distance and have that stretch action work with the two chained distances to make a uniform stretch. i.e. all the distances will be that same length, but at the moment my stretch is just stretching the chain actions in the same direction as the primary stretch rather than stretching each uniformly outwards.

Whats the best way to set it up? And what kind of addtional info should there be. And when I connect to a shp file, how do you label with multiple lines, I seem to only be able to select 1 feature to label. When zoomed out would like to view structure name and when zoomed in view name, rim elevation, invert elevations.

View 1 Replies View RelatedUsing CS6 on Windows 7. I've got a product photo of a product with square corners and the shot is taken on a angle so that a corner is pointed out towards you with 2 sides going away from you. I've created a copy of the layer, flipped it vertically and lowered the opacity to create a reflection. I then added a layer mask to the reflection layer and then a gradient to fade out the relection to solid white on 1 side of the product. But I need to apply a gradient to the other side of the product to fade out its reflection, but when I do this, it removes the first gradient. How can I fade out both sides of my reflection?
View 6 Replies View RelatedPhotoshop displays metadata for images, including Camera Data. The latter can include Owner, but it is not told where that information comes from. It is possible that it comes from a “metadata template” as accessed by the second of the four tabs at the bottom of the Camera Data screen. There is a folder: User>Library>Application Support>Adobe>IMP>Metadata Template, but that latter folder is empty, and (quite naturally) there exists no directions for setting up any metadata template. At least one does not turn up from searching the Adobe website. There are vague hints about the existence of direction (as at URL...), but no specific directions where they are actually likely to be needed.
