View 2 RepliesWhen I create a rectangular box in Autodesk Inventor 2008, shell it, and create a new sketch on any face and press E I expect to be greeted with the extrusion options. This does not happen, and a command alias input dialog appears in the status bar.
I really want to turn this off, since it has happened on other occasions as well. Since there's no other way to get to the extrusion feature, it completely halts my work.
Usually when I don't know what a feature is for and I'm not attempting to use it I expect to not see it- especially when I perform actions that don't usually bring it up. I'm not sure why the behavior has been put there. Hopefully it's not put into later versions (I've seen 2010 complaints as well) so someday an upgrade will remove the annoyance.
I keep changing the Command Alias Editor in ACAD 2010 so I can use the hot keys I have grown accustomed to. They work fine but when I close ACAD then reopen it goes back to defaults and I have to change them again. I know it's probably loading the wrong menu file or something simple but figured I would ask the experts before I start moving files around.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMost efficient way to transfer my custom pgp commands? I'm constantly moving between different computers and autodesk versions.
I used to just be able to overwrite the acad.pgp file in the support directory but this doesn't seem to work in the newer versions and I'm hesitant to continue like that in case their are new commands introduced in newer versions that I don't know about then they'd be over written.
Is there anyway to include my command overrides (eg. c=copy) in my back up cui file?
I'm trying to get familiar with AutoCAD. Google and didn't manage to solve a problem :
In AutoCAD LT 2013, I created a custom command called Special fillet :
Name : Special filletDescription : Round a polylineCommand display name : SFILLETMacro : ^C^C_fillet;p;r;0.1
I created two aliases at the end of acadlt.pgp :
SF, *SFILLET
C, *COPY
When i type C, it works fine (just a test) but although it appears correctly in the Command prompt, SF doesn't work and it keeps telling me : UNKNOWN COMMAND "SF"
Last thing, if I create an icon in a toolbar with the special fillet command : it works fine...
I want a part automatically to be "saved as" in my workspace.
there is the command
ThisDoc.Document.SaveAs(NewFileNameAndExtension , True)
in the browser of iLogic but I don't know how to use it.
I tried ThisDoc.Document.SaveAs("partname.iam", True)
but that's couases a error.
I have an ilogic rule to open an existing excel file template and export the inventor parameters into it. I am trying to find a way to then save the excel file as a different filename. This way the original template can stay unmodified. I have found the GoExcel.save command but is there some sort of GoExcel.saveas(filename, filepath) command?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am unable to get this code to launch the File Save As Command. I Think I have the sytax correct, because if I Replace "AppFileSaveAsCmd" with a different command name (i.e. "AppFileNewCmd") it works as expected. I have tried this with "AppFileSaveCmd" and "AppFileSaveCopyAsCmd" and both have also failed. It seems any kind of save command wont work... I am trying to creat a rule that will fire on "New Document" iTrigger that will Force a user to save the newly created assembly document in preperation for further iLogic rules that depent on the assembly Filename and path. Maybe there I am not telling it What file to Save? I have pasted the code below..
Format:HTML Format Version:1.0 StartHTML: 165 EndHTML: 3048 StartFragment: 314 EndFragment: 3016 StartSelection: 314 EndSelection: 314
SyntaxEditor Code Snippet

Someone has given me a .wire file from Alias. I fired up a new assembly in Inventor but it imported into a part. There are many parts to this design, and I'd rather have them as separate parts. However what I have now is one part with many surfaces (which I can turn on or off). Any tips for bringing it in differently? Maybe I can derive some parts out from my existing part which has about 20 surfaces (which should be parts)?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI need to save a drawing file and give it the name of my desire using a single command, I don't want to issue "saveas" and then specify the name in the file name prompt. This problem is has been faced when I was using ScriptPro and I couldn't succeeded to do that. Hence I need to know if it is feasible to do the stuff using a single command. It will be preferred if I can choose the location to save the file also rather than save the file to the default location.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have text from dt command, circle and leader line. After selecting them I use the copy command and starte pasting all over my drawing. Probable about 6 copies. about 3 or 4 of them end up not being able to select them. So if i want to edit the text, move all three entities or just delete them i cant. I figured out the only way to delete these "unselectable" objects i copied is to only have that layer on, type selectall and delete. Why this happens and why if i did 6 pastes it only happens to 3 or 4 of them? does it have to do with feature lines? I do have 3d lines in this dwg but i should still be able to select what i copied.
View 7 Replies View RelatedDo you need to use the join command on an object before making it into a dynamic block? I have these stairs I need to scale down to fit my floorplan, but when I place grips on it in order to scale them down, I can only scale of the block while the rest becomes totally distorted.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've created an action that uses the save for web dialogue to optimise images for the web. When I use the batch command to process a full folder of images, even though I have "Override action "save as" command" checked, it ignores this and still uses the location that was used when the action was created.
Apparently this is a known issue in CS6 and previous versions but whether this has been fixed in Photoshop CC?
when I try to edit group or save group as separate Revit file, Revit crashes. Sometimes, it keep processing the 'save' but the group doesn't get saved; doesn't show in the folder.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like to know if there is a lisp that would run every time I run the hatch command? I have autosave on, but I never remember to do a good clean save before I run hatch. I remember as autocad locks up and crashes! I would like a list that would prompt me to save when I hit hatch with option of yes, save or cancel. is this a tall order?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have AutoCAD 2010 on a 2002 Windows XP Professional system. I do not know what I did to cause it but when I do a "save as" using the button, I no longer get a window. I can only save through the command bar. I cannot seem to change the save to folder using the command bar so I really need to get the window back.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I decided to try my hand at making gifs and so I attempted to upload a video by going to file -> import -> video frames to layers. Before even letting my pick my video it comes up with an error message saying "could not complete the video frames to layers command because dynamiclink is not availible." I then tried file -> open -> and then selected the video and no matter what file type or size I chose I ended up with the same error message.
I looked this problem up and attempted some of the solutions but to no avail. I tried clearing my preferences and restarting photoshop many times in addition to restarting my computer. I also checked to make sure it wasn't being blocked by any firewalls and it wasn't. My opperating system is Windows 7 and I'm using photoshop cs6.
I am trying to "save as" a dxf several shapes in a drawing. Except that when I use my mouse wheel to zoom in, I get this odd message:
"xxx.dwg" has a command in progress. Hit enter to cancel or [Retry]: *Cancel*
Never had this happen until this morning.
I know that there is a Save All command in express tools but if one does not have express tools installed or loaded how can they access this Save All function from the command line?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am looking for "best practice" example code for saving/re-using command default values from previous user input. Similar to lisp globals, but for C# (or VB.net); ie next time the command is run in a given session, the user's previous input is the default <>. I am currently using Properties.Settings to persist these values.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI would like to save my opened dxf drawing again as dxf with one click by custom button.
I was trying the next code
^C^Cdxfout;;y;v;2004;16;;
It returns the message "Can't open file", it seems like it does the save only when initial file is dwg.
The goal I wish I click a custom button and will save my opened dxf drawing back to dxf in 2004 format.
I am having a catastrophic error in Inventor 2013.
When I attempt to save a drawing I have completed, I cannot save!
Can't save, save as or any other variation of save.
This is my issue every time I click save.
I've been getting this Undefined Alias Referenced error showing up every time I open one specific drawing.
Also, I'm not sure if this is related to the first part. In the same drawing I have several png files that I can't get rid of.
I need to find a way to find a good replacement for "SAVE" command to use it within Reactor. I want to save A COPY of my current ("active") DWG document to another place *without making it current* (just like command "SAVE" does and did it always). I know I could use (vla-saveAs ...) to save it first to another Folder and then use (vla-save ...) to save it back to its current Folder, but there must be a way to do it simply and fast.
View 9 Replies View RelatedUsing PS7 I need to make an action that allows me to type in a different name each time when saving a file. ... this is basic but I just can't seem to get it.
More detail is... I have a .psd file that gets changed and then saved from 5 to 15 different ways to another computer on a network. The problem is being able to save the file as a number from "500" to "1299." Is there another way to do this without having an action for each number?
I have been working in Civil 3D 2013 for about two weeks and everything was going smooth until I got a fatal error message while trying to rotate a basic rectangle. When I reloaded AutoCAD Civil 3D my command line displayed the following error message: "AutoCAD menu utilities loaded.; error: bad argument type: input-streamp: nil”. My drawing loaded normally but when I tried to draw a line using L+Enter I got a note saying “Command: L Unknown command "L". Press F1 for help.” Now none of my aliases work and when I go to Express -> Tools -> Command Alias Editor from the menu bar, I get the windows that are on the attatched screen shot. The PGP files wont work and importing aliases gives me the top right box on the attatched image. I have tried adding a Support File Search Path from the options menu and that too has failed.

For saving a jpg:In SAVE FOR WEB: What's the difference between Type Optimized & Art Optimized? THE BOTH GIVE THE SAME EXACT TOOLTIP HINT.WHAT IS sRGB & why would I use that?
What's an ICC profile. When would I use it?
When I use the "pull down"menu and select a file format to "save as" The actual file format name is off by 1.
Example: In the pull down "format" menu the order of the formats is
Scitex (sct)TIF
Photoshop 1.0
When saving "test.psd" as a TIF file, the name in the "save as title box gets a .sct extension (Test.sct). In order to actually save as TIF file I need to select Photoshop 1.0 and the title will receive a tiff.
