I am looking for "best practice" example code for saving/re-using command default values from previous user input. Similar to lisp globals, but for C# (or VB.net); ie next time the command is run in a given session, the user's previous input is the default <>. I am currently using Properties.Settings to persist these values.
View 3 RepliesWhen I use the walk command, the values making up the target indicator are usually not the way I want them to be. The target is too far away, too wide FOV etc. Because of this I have to go in and adjust these values every time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to have attributes automatically update? For example, we often "save block as" from block editor to create a new block. We usually have block name on defpoints layer so designers can see block name on screen.
We now have to edit this text each time new block is created from existing block. If default value of attribute could be the block name it would save time and errors.
changing some properties default value for 2 items i have here. I want to keep the new settings inside my dwg template but i don't find any why to do it yet.I have to modify these manually or use match properties.
THE TEXT: Has the first picture, i would like to keep the setting Line Space Style: "Exactly" instead of "at least" all the time, each time i open a new autocad. How can i modify this default value? is there a way to do it ?
THE LEADER: Has the picture, in my dimension style i use 2 mm standard closed filled arrow. BUT i like to use the "dot" style sometimes but i like to use the dot at 1 mm not 2 mm.
Is there a way to set individually each type of leader tip size ? With dimension style override it's not working for now..Or maybe if i could change the default properties value for the particular dot in a configuration file?
After copying a value in clipboard like "1566.78" when I want to draw a line while my cursor is on my drawing space I write "0," and then hit "Ctrl+v" it draws line point on "0,1566.78". But this is not working fine in my home Cad, When I draw a line in same procedure and when I hit "Ctrl+v" after writing "0," it pastes the value "1566.78" as a text.
To do this right I have to click on command line to draw a point but in office I don't have to click on command line. I also import the office profile *.ARG in home Cad but still not working.
When you create a new Frame Generator assembly, you have a dialog box with Frame name, Path to frame file, Skeleton name, path to skeleton file. Inventor propose default values. Is there a way to automatically modify these default values ? For example, instead Inventor propose "New Frame file name = Frame0001.iam", I want a custom calculated file name.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to save a drawing file and give it the name of my desire using a single command, I don't want to issue "saveas" and then specify the name in the file name prompt. This problem is has been faced when I was using ScriptPro and I couldn't succeeded to do that. Hence I need to know if it is feasible to do the stuff using a single command. It will be preferred if I can choose the location to save the file also rather than save the file to the default location.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI cannot determine what triggers this but the command line has stopped returning values from lisp expressions.
eg. If I type (setq fred "Hello") I would expect to see "Hello" returned. I am getting nothing. Similarly if I type !fred I get nothing. If I restart AutoCAD the problem goes away. The after some time it happens again. Is there a toggle or switch or system variable that I'm not aware of?

I have a little dialog box with seven radio buttons and a text box that generically accomplishes what it's supposed to do. To retain the current dialog values, I use the write-lline function to store the information and then use read-line to bring that information back in for other Lisps that I use. As long as the user doesn't open the dialog, whatever options were last selected will remain in effect.
However, if the user re-opens the dialog, then whatever defaults I have initially set up in the dialog will then become active (in other words, whichever of the radio buttons I have set to "1")
My question is whether or not I can have the dialog box set up so that if a user selects an alternate radio button, that radio button will keeo it's value whether or not the dialog is opened and until and if the user changes it..
As it is now, whenever the user opens the dialog box to change, say one radio button, the user then has to change the other radio buttons if the defaults don't match the current run requirements.

Im sick of writing the value of brushes i want to use like example: brush size 10 or brush size 20 or brush size 5 or less..
Whenever i touch to adjust brush size by mouse it always is like this: brush size 334 or brush size 554.. Why it is so easy to pick 400size brush and almost imposible to pick 40 size brush?
Brush are? its like 500px wide.. since when small brushes are obsolete?? i never use bigger brush than 50! and most of the time i use brushes that are less than 10(value)
So its pretty important for me(i hope not only for me) to easily pick small brush sizes..
Is there a way to change the default increment for the X and Y value boxes in the Transform area of the Control panel? When I have an object selected and want to move the object by clicking the arrows beside the X and Y boxes the object moves 1/8 inch for each click. Is there a way to set that to 1/16 inch for example?

Then GIMP starts its foreground and background colors aren't black and white anymore.
I would like to know how to reset them back to default values (then program starts).

I have several Illustrator JavaScripts that I've written with the ESTK. A lot of these scripts involve resizing the artboard or artwork to specific sizes. Instead of forcing the user to manually input the dimensions they want into text fields, I just stored a half-dozen or so "presets" in an array.
Then they can select one of the presets from a dropdownlist, or go ahead and input a custom size. These presets are the same for multiple "resize" scripts, so it would be nice to store those presets in a separate file (i.e. presets.jsx) that my resize scripts could reference, so when I need to add or change a preset, I could just go to that one shared file, and all the scripts would be updated.
Is it possible to do that? If it is, a quick example of how to load the variables from another file.

I've created an action that uses the save for web dialogue to optimise images for the web. When I use the batch command to process a full folder of images, even though I have "Override action "save as" command" checked, it ignores this and still uses the location that was used when the action was created.
Apparently this is a known issue in CS6 and previous versions but whether this has been fixed in Photoshop CC?
when I try to edit group or save group as separate Revit file, Revit crashes. Sometimes, it keep processing the 'save' but the group doesn't get saved; doesn't show in the folder.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn the hatch dialogue there is a setting to target the hatch to a specific layer. How does one set the default to ALWAYS be "Use Current"?
Attached jpg shows the target layer as ffbrg, but I want that to ALWAYS read "Use Current" when creating a NEW hartch. In other words, I am happily working in a specific layer creating all these hatches and then realize LATER that all the hatches were in different layers causing great confusiion and havoc.
I'm trying to change the dafault varible for the mirror command from no to yes. whne you do the mirror command after you choose your second point it asks if you want to erase the source object and the default is set to no but I would like to change it to yes. I'm able to change the macro for the mirror button which works but only when I push the button. Before the cui file I remember everything was done from the acad.pgp or the acad.mnu files but with the new CUI file i can't seem to locate wher to change the actual command and not just the macro for the mirror button.

I'm new to Inventor. Lets say I create a part called Pipe.ipt. In it I specify the OD, Thk and Length of the pipe. If I then create an Assembly, and I want to use multiple instances of Pipe.ipt, but each instance has a different set of parameters (i.e. different OD, Thk and Length). How do I do this?
I see I can set up iPart, and I could set up tables with the OD and Thickness for various standard pipe sizes. But this doesn't address the length. How do I re-use the same Part in an assembly, but each part has it's own set of unique paramenters?
Often we have to re-type the same number (value) in the command line. Not the point coordinate triplet, but a single number as input, for example in Move Copy command.
I always wonder if there is a trick in AutoCAD to recall the previously typed-in number quickly and easily (apart from Ctrl+C Ctrl+V method).
Microstation does it very conveniently by pressing up and down arrows in Accu-draw dialog, and even places a graphical mark on the screen when cusor moves over the previously entered value.
I have an attribute blocks and this att block has two tag values , is there a simple code for to change 1st tag values automaticly according to 2nd values ?
for example :
1st tag (50x50) - 2nd tag ( 100 ) ==> 50x50-100
if i enter 201 valuse to 2nd tag then 1 st tag has to change as 100x100

after 2013 was installed in my colleagues computer he now has the option to include Layouts when opening the publishing command, which didn't happen before. It is a slight pain removing these from the selection to be published and I was wondering how I get it to only select models and not layouts when opening the publish command as default.

how I can use a variable as the target for a Save as PDF option in Illustrator javascript. the variables work fine where there is no enumerated value for the property i.e. opts.generateThumbnails but I can figure out how to get it working opts.compatibility or other properties with enumerated values using a variable as the definition.
The code snippet example below will always give an 'Enumerated Value expected' error when run for the opts.colorCompression option even though the string is correct. If I define the opts as opts.colCompression = compressionQuality.AUTOMATICJPEGHIGH then everythings works
