Mar 26, 2007Can the API be used to select feature edges in a drawing view and assign them to a layer? I am using IV10.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Show Thread Features In Drawing View By Default
May 1, 2006When you have a part with a thread feature, the default setting should show the thread feature in the drawing view...rather than making the user right click the view and select "Display Thread Feature". I don't understand why this doesn't show up in the drawing automatically...it is, after all, a feature on the part.

Nov 21, 2013I have often problem with drawing view labels. When model is changed and I switch to the drawing then the label is moved to an random position. There is possible to little move with view, or edit label text or switch off/on label and label move back to correct position. This is very unpleasant when there s more views in drawing, is necessary to correct each label.
This happen in Inv2013 and also in Inv2014.
Is not there an possibity to minimize this?

Jun 5, 2012I found that I can right click a dimension in a drawing and select "Move Dimension" which then prompts me to select an alternative view in which I want the dimension placed. Is it possible to control-click multiple dimensions once to do this all in one fell swoop (e.g. I decided my view is too busy and want to move dimensions to a newly created detail view of that area)?

Nov 29, 2012I am making a multiview drawing with isometric of a certain sheet metal part. Due to manufacturing reasons, they have to make the part longer than necessary to get a bend in it then I will have them shear off the extra. Is there a way I can show the multiview and flat pattern WITH the extra material and show the isometric WITHOUT that extra? In the model I remove the excess with a cut but I don't know how to suppress a feature for one view and not another.

Sep 20, 2012I have a panel with holes,cutouts and silkscreen
In the drawing the panel is detailed to show hole locations and sizes on one sheet and in another view @ 1:1 the silkscreen is shown.
The silkscreen is a feature on the panel, text either embossed or extruded .005" outward. The feature is colored (filled).
On my drawing all the silk screens show up like un-filled fonts. This really bothers some people and my task is to fill the fonts.
Also i need to get the silkscreen by itself and (suppress/invisible) remove the other features from the view.
Suppress will not work as the feature i am trying to show will also be suppressed. Visibility of features is not an option.
Q. HOW CAN I GET THE FEATURE SEGREGATED AND SOLID IN MY DRAWING? but still a feature of the part. i.e. i don't want to create an assembly with a panel and a silkscreen.
How do i suppress features in a view on the drawing?

We show the completed assembly in the drawing but would like to see the assembly prior to machining in some views.If I suppress the machining features in the model it affects all views. oBaseView is the DrawingView object representing the base view the code just placed. I also used VBA to place the projected views oTopView and oRightView. I want to add center marks to each hole when viewed from the end (as circles) and add centerlines when viewed from the top or side (as hidden lines).
I will be iterating through several models representing various handhold styles. The feet can be in many orientations, 99% of them are paralel to one of the origin planes (XY,YZ, or XZ).
This is what my code generates: (The centermarks that are selected are the ones I don't want the code to generate). This is what I WANT the code to generate:
1) How do I distinguish whether a circle curve originated because of a hole or because of another cilindrical feature?
2) How to I identify the corresponding hidden lines in the other views so I can add a center line?
AutoCAD Inventor :: Drawing File (Annotation Features Not Supporting 2000)
Aug 22, 2012I am using inventor 2013 and creating the drawing for a part or assy. and saving it to autocad 2000. after i open the saven .dwg fine in autocad 2000 of customised .dwg viewer (EDMS internal customised vault kind of software), i see some of the features of annotations and even mechanical features added has question mark (as the images attached).
Thing is what i am doing is and we have a BOB.shx file for the font. (which inventor is not supporting) and we could not bring this inside inventor. Inventor supports only .ttf font types.
So how way possible we can use inventor drawing inside autocad 2000 by save a copy as option. or you have any patch type support.We are loosing lot of time in this as a productivity loss.
Photoshop :: How To Move Camera View In CS6 Extended Using 3D Layer
Sep 26, 2012I'm having an issue trying to move the camera view in cs6 extended using a 3d Layer. Here's the idea:
1. Create a 3D Layer extrusion / mesh primitive.
2. I select the current view item in 3D Panel / click outside model.
3. The border frame appears yellow.
4. When I select the Move tool, I can only rotate around the y axis, can't rotate up or down. Can't roll the camera, move or slide either using the other move tool modes.
5. I can adjust the co-ordinates properties for the current view and it works OK.
6. Object /light transforms work OK.
I'm testing on 13.0.1, mac 10.7.4. I had the same problem on another machine on 10.6.8 on v 13.0 last week that fixed itself, but not sure how .

Then we installed SP1 and now drawing views are disappearing, however when we select "shaded" view the view reappears and works perfectly..
Any workaround regarding disappearing views?

Nov 25, 2008Each time when I place a part in base view, have to follow few steps; go through view label, format Text, than choose type option - [Properties-Model] and its property - [Part Number], than placing dimensions. it takes long time and very repetitive, especially, when placing a hundreds of parts and I was wondering if there is an option, to set up view label; [Properties - Model ]& [Part number], as a DEFAULT. So, each time placing a part, in base view it will come up with correct label. Also, overall dimensions, can it be retrieve using parameters of the part?

May 14, 2010How can I move a detail view to another sheet in a drawing in 2009? I have only been able to copy the detail and it's parent view to the 2nd sheet and then suppress the parent view on the 2nd sheet so that only the detail view is visible.
However, when I go back to the first sheet and try to suppress or delete the detail view, it also deletes / suppresses the detail circle from the parent view.

Nov 25, 2013I want to use the different features in Map 3d such as the points, lines and polygon. I went to the help file and it instructed me to go to the display manager and right click on the "feature" layer to create a layer for the relevant feature that i want to use, but i have no "feature" layer in the display manager.
How do i create this layer? I use a template that is setup for c3d, is it due to this that there is no standard layer in the template?
