I want to use a certain bolt from Content Center. Unfortunately, the particular size I want to use does not exist in the content center, but it does exist at one of our suppliers. How can I add this size to Content Center?
Or, can I somehow check out this bolt as an iPart, and then I can modify it (add any size I want, or even make it custom) according to my will?I am using Inventor 2013
I have some problems with Bolt Connection Component Generator. For placement I choose Concentric, i choose all references, but I can't select Diameter. It is stuck to 10mm and i can't change it.
how Inventor Materials are used in your companies, what is your customization level and usage level.Do you use Inventor Materials as they come out of the box ?Do you create your own materials?
Do you modify the properties of existing Inventor materials without changing the material name?Do you show material names on 2D drawings (in parts list etc)?
I've got several assemblys built for a road project. the problem is whenever i modify an assembly by adding a subassemby, some of the existing subassemblies move. they stay attached to the assembly but they disconnect from the part they were attached to. i can move them back so the assembly looks correct but when i rebuild the corridor chances are they show up wrong. i've tried 'move to' and just grabbing and snapping. i can eventually get it attached but not without trial and error. i'm running c3d2012.

Can I modify an existing viewport in a macro or in the command line?
Using a macro, I want to modify (specifically delete) the viewport from a layout tab after chspace from model space.
I have LT so no LISP. qselect works but cannot be put into a macro.
If I "select all" on a layout tab in paperspace ACAD says 1 of the objects selected is the viewport so I know autocad recognizes the viewport as a different kind of object.
I have several existing block definitions and need to change the insertion point. Also, when creating a new block in the Block Editor, how do I define the insertion point?
I've drawn a hollow ellipse shape (shape layer). I would like to remove the bottom half of the ellipse shape so that I am left with a parabola shape.
I've tried creating two shape layers and combining them in such a way as to subtract out the bottom half of the original ellipse but I am obviously doing it wrong.
how to select and modify an EXISTING rectangle (not create a new one)? I drew a rectangle with rounded corners, and now I would like to modify the radius of the corners.
I've tried using the Rectangle Select tool to reselect the existing rectangle, but Gimp only lets me create a new rectangle.
I downloaded a resume & cover letter template and I am not able to figure out how to delete information and modify existing information to customize these documents.
I've assembled a bolt and a slide block that is constrained to a base plate and am able to put everything in motion. I have the slide block constrained to slide the distance of the base plate and when I reach the end the bolt continues to rotate when, if this was a real part, should stop. How can I get this bolt to stop once the slide block reaches its ending constraint?
I'm working on a project in wikiHelp under Inventor tutorials, Content Center, Create iMates. When I pull the object up in an assembly I can create an iMate and it will show that I made one. But when i go to the next page (Place Content Manually Using iMates), I can't get the bolt to snap to the iMate inside the object, the bolt just stays in one position the whole time.
1. When placing pumps,bolt-on walkways etc..etc..on to a metal frame at the assembly level do you place the pumps/walkways first and then add the bolt holes to the frame or do you create the bolt holes first in the frame and then place the pump/walkways on to the holes?
Using bolted connection, I want to place a bolt through 3 sheets of metal. The first 2 sheets i want it to automatically place a slightly larger hole (which it does) but I want the 3rd sheet to be threaded so the bolt thread and hole thread are the same size.
When a bolted connection is used, the bolt changes in length as the stackup of hardware increases and decreases. I have noticed that if I do not grab the red arrow to adjust the length, the amount the bolt extends past the nut
seems to be only about 2 threads. What is the formula Inventor uses to determine this extended length?
I'm trying to constrain a length of ACME threaded rod to a nut so that when the rod is spun or threaded it shows it traveling into the nut as it will be grounded. I would like it to work as a driven assembly or if I was to turn or spin the rod by the mouse. I've reseached this for the last 2 days and can not spend any more time on it so time to ask the experts.
I've been working with Inventor 2011 - Pro and have not had any success with utilizing a bolted connection (blind hole) in an FEA stress analysis. I have reviewed and one suggestion involved a using a bolt placed "as custom" instead of "as standard". It appears however that there is a default setting that I currently have which doesn't allow this as a selection.
I have a ratchet plate idw that I've drawn and dimensioned, but I would like to insert two bolt circles to the two diameter dimensions that appear to be pointing at nothing. The circular pattern is not made up of circles so I haven't been able to use the Centered Pattern command in the centerline section. I'm using Inventor 2013.
In my work i normally use our standard full threaded rods with square nuts. But, since we make the rods and nuts in the factory, they do not follow any international standard.
I wanted to add the threaded rods to the Bolted Connection menu in order to be able to automaticaly add the rod and to let inventor calculate the needed lenght.
I was able to add the rod to content center as an Ipart with all available sizes, but it doesn't appear on the bolted connections menu.
See attached our normal bolted connection, how can I add this to bolted connection so inventor will size it automatically to the needed lenght?
Im using the bolted connection tool and when i chose all of circluar reference and pick out my bolt and nut the tool will only draw one bolt and ignore all the other circular references. It previews all the bolts just fine ut will only place a bolt in one of the circular references.
