AutoCAD Inventor :: Filename / Directory Name Or Volume Label Syntax Is Incorrect

Nov 30, 2011

"The filename, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect. The database in K;lah/blahlah.widget.ipt* could not be saved".It's nothing to do with an improper name; even saving as the default 'Part 3' doesn't work.

At the moment I'm limping by using Save Copy As. Neither Save not Save As work at all.

GIMP :: Get Current Image Filename And Directory Name In Script-fu?

Jan 30, 2011

I need to process multiple photos every day in the same way and am trying to minimize the effort needed by automating Gimp with Scrip-fu, which seems to be kind of limited. My plan was to save the files in specified folders and using incron (an inotify service) to open them in Gimp; do a manual perspective backward transformation by hand and start a script would, resize them and based on their filename and what directory they came from, save them to the correct folders for display on web pages.

I'm having difficulty figuring out how to get the filename and directory which the images came from.

Following is the code I have so far.

Dim Separators() As Char = {""c} Words = ThisDoc.Path.Split(Separators) FilName = "C:VaultDesigns" & Words(3) & "Spec_Sheet.csv"

Dim ReadCSV As New System.IO.StreamReader(FilName) Dim WordSets As New ArrayList()

i = 0 SName = iProperties.Value("Project", "Stock Number")

For Each wrd In WordSets  If WordSets.item(i)(0) = SName Then  iProperties.Value("Project", "Description") = WordSets.item(i)(1)  iProperties.Value("Custom", "Finish") = WordSets.item(i)(2)  End If i += 1 Next
The only problem I have is that this line crashes. I am not competent enough to understand why.

Oops:     MsgBox "IDW File could not be found. FileName of IDW must be the same as this file.", vbInformation End Sub

"What if"... my idw is not at the same location, but under a subfolder instead..... like this

Part file c:designsDrawingsJobxxx

Idw file c:designsDrawingsJobxxxIDW

I am sure that this can be done by editing the line "sDrawingName = Left(sFullFileName, Len(sFullFileName) - 4) & ".idw"  " .  Everything I have tried did not work.

AutoCAD Inventor :: VB To Change Filename As Loop Progresses

Jun 8, 2012

I have VB code that loops through and utilizes Excel data to pick which file(s) to open, update, and close.  Then it opens the appropriate .idw file, updates it and saves it as a .pdf.

The line of code I have now is simple:

_invApp.ActiveDocument.SaveAs("C:UsersxxDesktopA60.pdf", True)

and that writes the file to my desktop as a .pdf.

However, as the loop runs over and over, it will find another data set that is the same A60 type, so it will want to save OVER that .pdf it's already created.

How do I go about having a variable filename?  Something where it would add a _01 _02 _03 (or similar) to the end of the filename (i.e. A60_01.pdf, A60_02.pdf).

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: SSA Storage Volume Is Double Of Pondpack Volume

Apr 24, 2013

I want to use it as my primary hydrologic and hydraulic modeler.  It only makes sense.  Well, I got the program to work and had things linked in and was able to route a storm through the network.  But when I routed the storms, I had to model double the storage that i expected.

So I went back to the program I'm familiar with - Pondpack by Benltey - and designed the same system I routed in SSA in that program - and got the storage volume that I would expect for a site of this size - about 2 acres.

Is there possibly a setting that I'm missing that makes my outlet structures route slower or less than they should?  Or is there some other reason that a system would give this kind of inflated need for storage?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Selecting Save As Directory With ILogic?

Oct 25, 2012

I am making some iLogic automated parts which I want to save when I place them in an assembly.

Now I have the folder the file needs to be saved in allready specified in the simple code I wrote but I want to be able to browse the folders to select a specific one.

I run the code by activating it in a Form that pops up when you place the part in an assembly.

The simple save as code I wrote is as following:
Workspace = ThisDoc.WorkspacePath()If System.IO.File.Exists(Workspace & "Parts" & "Cable Tray-" & Partnumber & ".ipt") = True Theni = MessageBox.Show("The partnumber you chose is allready in use, choose an other number.", "Save Error", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Hand, MessageBoxDefaultButton.Button1)Else If System.IO.File.Exists(Workspace & "Parts" & "Cable Tray-" & Partnumber & ".ipt") = False ThenThisDoc.Document.SaveAs(Workspace & "Parts" & "Cable Tray-" & Partnumber & ".ipt", False)End If
How I can browse the folders to select the folder to save the part in when placing the part?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Content Centre Prompted Filename And Part Number

Nov 8, 2011

Create a Content Center Part that prompts for a file name and sets the Part Number to whatever I save the part as? It would also be nice to... Have the browser Display name the same as the saved filename.

If I have a standard part with a blank filename, inventor will make the part number equal the filename at the first save. It is this functionality that I require when using Custom Content parts.

E.G. If I have a length of 'RHS 200x100x6.3 - 2000mm' selected from content centre and I want the filename to be saved as 'Part-001', then I would like the Part Number to be set as 'Part-001'.

If I then place the same member in another project/assembly I may want to call it 'ProjectPart-100', where the part number would then be 'ProjectPart-100' and so on.

This method ignores the filename entry in the Ipart table.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Save Copy As Doesn't Rewrite Filename 2013

When using save copy as to make an identical part with a different number, the file name in the top and the browser doesn't update to the new filenumber. only in the bottom file tabs is the name correct. if I go to file> save as I can also see the new filename. This is a hassle when doing this to multiple files in an assembly, as it makes it hard to keep track of which parts have been given a new name. It seems the filename input in the browser is only written once, and that is when the first file was saved for the first time.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Dimension Values Incorrect On Drawing?

Sep 6, 2013

I'm using Inventor 2013.  I created an assembly where I did a lot of top down modeling (meaning components in the assembly were created in the assembly.  All but a handful of the components are adaptive to other components).  When I went to make my drawings for having the components made, I started noticing that some of the dimension values were wrong.  I could go into the model and verify the features, but when dimensioning on the drawing it would not match.  Furthermore, this didn't occur on every dimmension on the drawing.  Not even half of them were incorrect, but it only takes one to really mess up a part.

I've attached a screen shot of what I'm seeing.  The 15.2 and 5 dimmension are correct, but obviously those don't add up to 31.37.  I know I can manually override this dimmension, but only if I know to do it.  I tried to do a drawing of another part in the same assembly and eventually found a similar problem.

Finally, I created a step file of the 1st part (to strip away the adaptivity) and when I created the drawing again, the problem went away.

My question is, is there something I did in the assembly / creation process that would have caused this?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Assembly Mass Property Incorrect

Oct 29, 2013

I am having a problem with an assembly not showing the correct total mass of all of its components and sub-assemblies.  The value is out by nearly 20%, over 3000kg!

I have narrowed the mass discrepancy down to a derived part of a sub-assembly.  But this incorrect mass is only present when I navigate to the derived part's iproperites via the browser tree of the higher level assembly where I am having the mass problem.  It is as though the top assembly got some of its mass property information from a previous point in time, i.e. possibly before the derived part's mass properties were updated, and now refuses to look at the current information.

By the way, I have opened up and checked the mass properties of each sub-assembly and the derived part; and when opened individually these show as correct.  I have also tried 'Rebuild All' with no success.

Is it possible for mass properties in an assembly to become corrupted?
